My partner is celiac. So, no choice to go to this restaurant for dinner when you pass through Quebec. Every visit is a great evening! Exceptional culinary experience, for celiacs!
A great spot with an impressive selection of homemade pastries that even non-intolerant folks rave about—plus, delivery across Quebec!

This spot is the ultimate bakery for the flakiest gluten and dairy free pastries!! It is by far my favourite gluten free bakery! I would go back to Montreal just to visit this spot 😍
With an impressive variety of unique products and hard-to-find brands, this place is a must-visit for anyone seeking an amazing selection.

I'm writing from Alberta! I was in Homesense a few days ago and found Susie Sans Gluten cookie flour - I eat gluten-free, and generally haven't had a lot of luck baking gluten-free treats that taste or act the same as treats made with regular flour. I turned the package over and saw this company is Canadian, and I thought - why not? Let's give it a shot.
And oh. My. GOSH. I made my favourite cookie recipe from a blog I follow, subbed the flour for Susie's GF flour, and produced the yummiest, chewiest, MOST PERFECT cookies!!! My husband couldn't even tell they were gluten free!! I was honestly blown away.
I found Susie's store online and reached out to her, and she was SO KIND and let me know I could buy stock through homesense or well.ca. So I may have placed a large order through Well to try some of the other flours and mixes.... haha can't wait to continue experimenting.
Highly, highly recommend, based on the quality of the product and how kind this product's creator is, that you check this store out if you're in the area (wish I could!!), or if you're like me and too far away, purchase some of these flours online. I promise you won't be disappointed. Get ready to level up your gluten-free baking.
Merci again for responding to my email questions, Susie!! ❤️ this is the first time in a long time I've felt excited about baking. My birthday is in May and I'm looking forward to making my own gluten free cake. If your cookie flour is any indication of how awesome your cake flour is, my cake is going to be amazing this year.
A unique farm-to-table gem featuring local produce harvested from a green roof, offering a delightful mix of delicious dishes and a warm atmosphere.

This place is now 100 percent gluten free. I confirmed Celiac safe with the server. No gluten in entire restaurant and they are cautious with product sources. To top it all off, they make their own honey on their rooftop. My husband and I were so excited to discover this lovely restaurant. The staff is also amazing. Support this restaurant, we need places like this to stay open and thrive. Mahalo and Merci Bistro Hortus!

Go to this place! We were greeted by someone who was so kind and enthusiastic that I had to ask if he was the owner. He wasn't, but turns out he is the manager. This company gets their money's worth from him! He even showed us the brisket for the smash burger. All food was excellent and my wife was able to get a burger and poutine made gluten-free. The curds squeak. We were in a terrible mood before we got there, and this place lifted our spirits. I can't say enough good about this place.
Thank you, from you Nova Scotia visitors.

Had an incredible meal here. Server was welcoming and offered excellent recommendations from the all gluten-free menu. I had two small plates plus dessert and was absolutely stuffed. Chicken satay and pandan crème brûlée were highlights. This spot is best for smaller parties of 4 or less, and reservations recommended as it fills up quickly.
This place has a chill vibe and offers great options while ensuring a careful approach to cleanliness, making it a popular spot for many.

Food was absolutely phenomenal, as was the service, I would highly highly highly recommend. On top of that, they have an allergen free menu including gluten free with separate dishes to avoid cross contamination.

This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere with slightly dim lighting, Italian style 🇮🇹. Wood-fired oven to make good pizzas. Delicious.
The waitress even took the time to bake a gluten-free roll for our daughter who is celiac. Great initiative. However, while she was taking the order I noticed that she was not taking notes. Obviously experienced waitresses like her usually remember orders by heart.
We ordered a pizza with extra green pepper. Finally the pizza arrived WITHOUT chili.... Not the end of the world, but if she had written notes, she might not have forgotten it. A possible suggestion would be to enter the order into a tablet in hand to avoid this kind of small error.
Nothing very serious, so 4 stars out of 5 for today given the small error. Otherwise it was 5/5 😃👌
Also today they clearly lacked waitresses on the floor and therefore the overall service was a little slower. That said, the waitress in question, being experienced, still managed to compensate with her efficiency. I still think that Mother's Day weekend would be a good time to staff the place a little more 😜
Enjoy a fantastic dining experience with a unique allergy-friendly setup, dedicated kitchens, and a BYO drinks vibe that feels just right.

I will be dreaming of the delicious crab cakes until I'm lucky enough to return!
We originally chose to dine here as we were excited to see the level of gluten free accommodations, and it's safe to say we were all pleased with our experience! Our server was accommodating to our needs and requests, the food was EXCELLENT! the only thing missing was a beautiful glass of wine to pair with it all! A fun idea for guests to bring their own wine, but as we were from out of town, I would have enjoyed the convenience of ordering a glass from a menu.
Overall, 9/10 experience!

Fantastic. I was in Montreal for 2 days and my group ended up going 3 times. Burgers are delicious, the milkshake is one of the best I've ever had, and according to my celiac friend the gluten free bun is the best he's ever had. Will definitely be stopping back next time I'm in town

Gluten free poutine! Classic poutine was very good. A nice treat for those of us who rarely get a dedicated fryer and gf gravy. The servings are a bit small and had I known, I probably would have splurged for double cheese.
This classic Quebec snack bar stands out for its variety of gravies and offers a top-notch poutine experience.

Classic Quebec snack bar, they have multiple gravies to choose from. My wife has Celiac, and this place has a dedicated fryer and most of their gravies are gluten free. Their gluten free poutine with sauce BBQ is probably my favorite poutine in Gatineau, with chez Bob and Gaga close behind (but they are not gluten free), but my wife prefers hers with sauce brun.
A must-visit spot with delicious offerings and a reputation for great service that keeps people coming back for more.

I won't be very original: I'll add a 5-star review and add my voice to all those who have already showered this restaurant with praise. Creative dishes to share, colorful and tasty, with an Asian touch.
Each dish seems to offer a little “je ne sais quoi” that captivates from the first bite. The sushi-inspired tacos particularly stand out: a real explosion of flavors, difficult to match.
I would also like to highlight the exceptional attention of the service team, which makes the experience warm and makes you want to return.
Finally, a big thumbs up for the gluten-free options and the fryer dedicated to this intolerance: a small detail that makes a big difference.
A go-to spot for tasty tacos and unique drinks, perfect for enjoying delicious meals at great prices.

One of my go-to spots. Solid gluten free options (pretty much everything) with no fear of cross contamination. Fries on your taco is pretty hard to beat, too. The beef tongue is super tender.

My husband got sick from eating mussels here :/ - servers seemed to serve certain customers over others seemingly along racial lines, it was a frustrating experience and the food could have been better overall. There are gluten free options here including the onion soup but be aware the onion soup is a wine reduction and tastes different than your typical onion soup. Also note the regular menu is not available during brunch service.
With a diverse menu offering more than 20 choices, this spot is a favorite for its warm vibe and great value.

A varied menu adapted to the needs of people suffering from celiac disease!
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Bistro Des Bières Belges with my grandfather, who is celiac. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of the menu, which offers over 20 gluten-free main meal choices. The waitress Angélie was very kind and attentive to my grandfather's needs, making sure there was no cross contamination and that he could enjoy his meal safely.
* Impeccable service and a warm atmosphere
The service was impeccable, fast and efficient. The waitress Angélie was always smiling and available to answer our questions. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant, with modern decoration and soft music.
* Excellent value for money
Prices are very affordable for the quality of food and service. We both enjoyed our meals, which were delicious and well presented.
* I highly recommend Bistro Des Bières Belges to anyone suffering from celiac disease
If you are looking for a restaurant where you can eat safely and enjoy a delicious meal, I highly recommend Bistro Des Bières Belges. You will not be disappointed!

This is an amazing place for celiac and gluten free people to eat. There is a *whole* menu for gluten free meals. I've never had so many wonderful choices. The food is delicious, fresh, and light. As good Vietnamese food is. If you wish, you can purchase frozen soups and entrees to bring home.

It was either an off night or Gaspar has experienced a decline in the quality of the food. I was so excited to try Gaspar during our visit to Montreal, after getting a recommendation from a friend, seeing it listed on a travel blog post, and seeing the many great reviews on Google. But...we sadly left feeling disappointed by our dinner there, and felt we'd had much better food for lower prices elsewhere in Old Montreal. Gaspar is gluten free / celiac friendly, which I appreciated very much. There's a dedicated fryer and our waiter was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. We sat outside on the terrace, though we wished we had chosen to sit inside. Partly because of the weather that day, but also because the Gaspar terrace wasn't as nice as some of the other terraces. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful. We had a dinner reservation but there were many tables available, so the reservation likely wasn't necessary.
Homemade dishes and unique beverages keep everyone coming back for more, making it a must-visit spot for a delicious experience.

Delicious food, unique and tasty beverage: all homemade. 🥰
Adapts very well for gluten-free and dairy-free. Even has a fryer in an independent kitchen for gluten-free. He replaces wheat flour with cassava flour in certain dishes.
I'm going back soon, that's for sure!!!
We loved it!!!!

Told me as a celiac I could have the items on the menu with a gluten free sign. I asked at the hostess stand, they said I had a fryer just for gluten free fries so it's all I ordered to be safe... the waiter brought us drinks then came back and told us oh, sorry the fries have coating on them. As I was already upset my husband can't eat where he wants because of me. It's one thing to not have the food it's another to blatantly lie that celiac can eat here. Do not attempt. Do not believe them. At least our waiter told me their menu lied.....excuse me while I cry in tremblant lol. Just wow.
To further this review, we figured out the man at the hostess stand was the manager who yelled at me because I said he lied we did explain that the coated fries are not gluten free. He explained that we didn't serve us so we shouldn't be an issue and we shouldn't he so mad. I've never seen my husband so mad or felt so awful. Please as celiac don't belive them.
