We stopped for an aperitif made with artisanal Campari and an excellent tasting plate. Welcomed by the warmth of the place and the friendly staff, we then also ordered an excellent platter of cold cuts. The tavern is detail-oriented, inclusive and full of art. I recently dined at Nonna Nini, located near Piazza del Comune in Assisi, and it was absolutely delicious—one of the best meals I have ever eaten. One of the highlights for me was their accommodating menu, which includes gluten-free options and completely vegan dishes. Unlike many places where you have to ask for modifications, their vegan offerings are thoughtfully crafted without needing to request the removal of cheese or other non-vegan ingredients. The chef is super friendly and clearly passionate about the food. The experience leans towards fine dining, but the atmosphere remains casual and relaxed. The service and ambiance were both great, making the entire experience enjoyable. My only minor disappointment was the lack of vegan dessert options. In a crowded Assisi at the end of April, we choose to have lunch here. Being celiac, I called a few days before and, on the phone, they told me that by choosing the cutting boards it is possible to have seats. Having children with us, we choose to have lunch sitting down. There are 11 of us arriving: 7 adults (including 2 celiacs) and 4 children. I find kindness and availability in the reception phase. They prepare a table for 11 for us in a somewhat secluded area of ​​the restaurant... improvised setup, tables not perfectly clean... The waiter helps us choose the cutting boards by offering us the most expensive cutting boards. Then he says, 'I'll do the wine?' Having received our consent, he gives us 2 very expensive bottles of wine. But so far nothing particularly serious. The really serious thing was having paid for 3 'magnificent' cutting boards and not having received the appropriate quantities. They brought a bit of everything on the menu but without respecting the quantities corresponding to 3 cutting boards. For example, we only saw 4 bruschettas arrive for 3 platters... the same quantity we saw on tables with 2/3 people.... Absurd ! As for the management of place settings, they only provided us with forks and a few napkins. It went well as long as we ate the cured meats but once the pickled vegetables included in the menu arrived (which had been forgotten and we had to request) we had great difficulty eating them and we opted to recycle the plates of cured meats, now empty, left on the table.... It is also important to underline a superficial preparation on the management of cutting boards and gluten free bread... there is flour everywhere and, although the gluten free cutting boards are prepared in a separate room, there is a small window that connects the area where normal sandwiches are made to the area that should be dedicated to gluten free... high risk! The summary is: we paid more than 200 euros for a tasting of cured meats of undoubted quality, presented very badly and in smaller quantities than expected.. Forgotten in a corner of the place, after having paid a good sum, at a certain point, we received as a consolation prize a plate of chips for the children and 3 free cans... they must have felt guilty, ... It's sad to write such a review because we found so much sympathy and friendliness in all the guys. But dear guys, taking advantage of the crowds to earn more is not a move that will take you far!!

Nice restaurant in the centre, quite quiet environment, friendly staff always present in the room. There was a celiac among us (in total 4 people) and they provided us with gluten-free bread and noodles without any problem. Everything was good, from the starters to the first/second courses and dessert. Fast waiting time. I advise.

The experience was positive for the quality of the food, so much so that we returned the next day. The place is nice, but the tables are too close together. The service focuses on quantity and speed, so it is not the ideal place for a relaxing dinner. Positive note: it is possible to request gluten-free bread and pasta.

A restaurant in the center of Assisi but in a slightly secluded and quiet position, with a rustic and very suggestive atmosphere also given by the stone vaults and the themed decorative touches. I was welcomed very friendly and, once I was aware that I cannot eat gluten, I was offered the option of gluten-free bread as a cover charge. I ordered a sweet scamorza fondue with truffles and grilled vegetables. Right portions, filling and without unnecessary exaggerations. The vegetables were well cooked and oiled just right, and the fondue was very good although personally I would have preferred a slightly more intense flavour. Prices are in line with the Assisi average and still reasonable. The service, in addition to being courteous, also proved to be fast: in less than a quarter of an hour I received my order (it must be said that I was practically the first customer to arrive when it opened, so that certainly helped). A pleasant experience that I will gladly repeat should I pass through Assisi again.
