After finding ourselves searching for pizza with outdoor dining outside after 10pm, we had very few options local to Hoboken/JC. This is how we stumbled upon The Brick, and we were not disappointed! To provide context, I give this restaurant 5 stars for outdoor Italian dining after 10pm, but have further criticisms if that was not the case.
Truthfully, we have overlooked The Brick for years, as the counter-service atmosphere (my reasoning for 2 stars) and fierce Italian dining competition didn’t give it any stand-out features.
However, we were satisfied by our meal! We started with the complimentary garlic knots, which were addictive. We then had the fried calamari and chopped salad. The calamari was fresh and we did enjoy it all, though admittedly it was not competitive with other calamaris in the area. The salad was also everything we expected and a big portion which I liked.
We then had a medium pizza, half chicken parm (with a personal modification of Vodka sauce instead of tomato) and half prosciutto-arugula. The crust was crispy, and the toppings went well together. I do think the toppings may have been a bit top-heavy for the pie, as I typically prefer a thinner NY style slice, but I still enjoyed it.
We finished with the Spaghetti Fra Diavolo. It was good, but also not top tier Italian. Very spicy, if you’re into that!
I was intrigued by the large vegan and gluten-free menu, which I had no idea about and would definitely recommend to folks with dietary restrictions.
Overall, I think this is one of the best options for late-night sit-down outdoor Italian dining. But go any earlier, and the plethora of other options unfortunately outshines The Brick.
A hidden gem in Hoboken with an ever-evolving menu, cool atmosphere, and incredible homemade treats that will keep you coming back!

RUN here if you have celiac or other GF needs. They have fried donuts that don't taste like dry cake. SO GOOD. The marscapone donut was my favorite. The Nutella bites were good, but not as good as I hyped them up in my mind. If this place was around the corner from me I'd be here daily.

This place was amazing. My son goes to Stevens which is two blocks away and we went to have a meal with him. We sat outside which was really nice if you like to people watch. The tables were small but we made it work. The staff was on top of things for sure and the food and drinks came out fast. The food was delicious and the serving size was very very generous. My wife had gluten free pizza and it was one of the best she ever had. They also had gluten free pasta. The prices were not bad considering the amount of food and it is Hoboken. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to eat. Worth the visit for sure

One of my favorite places in Hoboken- I still can’t believe we can get gluten free calamari here!! Love love love the food, I’m usually paralyzed with the number of gf options, including flatbread, pastas, appetizers, and of course, great wine.
My eyes are usually bigger than my stomach when we come here… what a first world problem to have. Highly recommend.
Always a go-to for me! I called ahead before ordering delivery and the woman on the phone was very accommodating for my celiac. She said the kitchen will change their gloves and use foil on the grill for my order. Gluten free items on the menu are marked!

On the positive side, their gluten free crust and margarita pizza is really good . Wasn't sure if the mozzarella was fresh mozzarella as advertised but either way it was good. Service was good and the ambience is nice, upscale industrial bar. My issue is $30 for a medium pizza is just ridiculous . Like seriously outrageous . Medium pizza , soda and tip $44 ! 🤦♂️ Receipt below. It's too bad it was my first time here and I live a block away . Won't be back for pizza ever. Napolis's is $19 for their gluten free margarita with mushroom and pepperoni , blaze is $12 .
Brimming with excellent service and positive vibes, a true standout pub with a surprising array of vegan options and popular family-friendly spot.

Overall the food was good, unfortunately we didn't have a great waitress. We purposely picked this restaurant to meet friends at because online it shows their menu has gluten free options. My fiancé has Celiac disease and he ordered the house chopped salad and informed the waitress he can't have gluten. The waitress said their dressing for that salad is a beer based dressing - the restaurant shouldn't be advertising it as gluten free if it has beer in it! She also got confused and said there was a vegan option of dressing she can do, which isn't helpful because that doesn't mean gluten free. Food allergies are something that if you're working in a restaurant, you need to know the difference between vegan and gluten free.
We called a few days in advance to make a reservation and while we were there, the waitress wasn't giving us enough time to order, she came back three times and then finally told us that there is a party coming in later and they have the whole restaurant booked. We purposely called in advance for the reservation, the restaurant shouldn't have taken a reservation for when we asked if they were going to be pushy to rush us out.
Lastly, this is just minor but we ran out of water very quickly (before our food came) and the waitress never came back once until our food was done.
I know this is a long post and usually people complain just to complain.
If you see my other reviews, most of them are 5 stars. Mainly I wanted to post this because I wouldn't want someone eating there and getting sick or having an allergic reaction.

For years I have watched everyone enjoy bread at the table. But The Cuban offered me a while basket of GLUTEN FREE casaba bread. It was so delicious, I almost cried! Our server was so nice and helpful in helping me choose gluten free items on the menu. This will definitely be a regular stop for us whenever we visit the area!

For when you want a noodle stir fry dish that’s gluten free- order the rice noodles and the red curry sauce.
(Full disclaimer: this is actually the five soy spice sauce which is NOT gf. But I was weak 😂. Actually tho, I was kinda disappointed cause I think the red curry tastes better now that I’m used to it. It’s creamier and more savory).

I think I can say this is my favorite sushi spot in Hoboken now, and I have tried most of them. It’s been a year or two since I was last here, and I’m not sure why it took me so long to come back. The quality of fish is on par with many of the others, but the creativity of the menu is superior and the ambiance of the restaurant is great. Everything was great, but the rock shrimp roll was my favorite. They were also very accommodating for a gluten allergy in my group.
Delicious pizza and pasta and a great gluten free selection for those that are gluten sensitive. Highly recommend and have been back 2 times since first going!!

Great location! We were fortunate to be given a table right at the front with an uninterrupted view of the waterfront and the New York skyline. The serving staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately two of the four main courses our party had chosen were not available and this was only mentioned when the order was placed ... It would have been more helpful if we had been told earlier, i.e. when menus were given to us, the items which were not available. The food was good. One member of our group declared that it was the best gluten free pizza he had ever had. The prices reflect the location as well as the food so are higher than for comparable food elsewhere. The one negative element was that there was only one restroom for all guests and this did not look as if it had been inspected or cleaned recently.

Our friends ordered the regular pizza which seemed amazing… but the gluten free pizza we got was, to put in more kindly, not worth getting. Yeah, let me just put it that way….no need to get that gluten free pizza. If you need gluten free…move on.

Delicious and so many gluten free options! Owner is very knowledgeable and accommodating. Not everything is clearly marked gluten free or not but the owner knows everything off the top of his head and is happy to make recommendations. The gluten free cannolis are to die for. I suggest the cows milk ricotta filling.

The service at Saka is unmatched, the owner is an absolute gem who is passionate about her business. The food was excellent and came out quick. I have a gluten allergy and they were more than happy to make accommodations. They stand out amongst all the Japanese places in Hoboken!
One of our must go to places when in town. Always good food and service, the 2 most important requirements when finding a place.
They also have gluten free options which is important to us.

Spritzer drinks 🍹- refreshing and balanced in flavor
Burrata 🥚 - disappointing. Looked beautiful, nice textures but the whole thing tasted like when I had COVID and lost my taste and smell. The white beet sucked all the flavor out of everything. I wanted it to be sweeter or tangy but it flatlined.
Olives 🫒 - tasted like olives? 🤷🏻♀️ I dunno. I spit it out cause I hate green olives. Bitter brine? No thanks.
Cacio Pepe ⚫️ - gluten-free edition (gf rotini, aka “corkscrew pasta”). It was good! Very dense so a splash of fresh lemon that I added gave it the lift it needed for my palette.
Sweet corn farfalle 🌽 - corn was deliciously sweet, mushrooms cooked perfectly (still bouncy). Portion was too small for my husband.

From the adorable and incredibly attentive server to the last crumb this place was a delight. I went with a group of friends who didn’t have a single bad thing to say. They were very considerate of our friends gluten allergy and even that tasted out of this world. Our server Kristen was even kind enough to get the name of the gluten free bread so our friend could purchase it for herself. Would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a good meal with great service!

The Margherita pizza on gluten free cauliflower crust was absolutely phenomenal. I’ve lived in the area for about a decade and never once been to Imposto’s, decided to try it out based on recent positive reviews when I had a craving for pizza while on a temporary gluten free diet. The sauce was simply heavenly, so so flavorful and perfect proportions of sauce and cheese. The cauliflower crust was surprisingly tasty as well, given I’d never tried it before. Staff is super friendly. Would highly recommend, and will definitely be back next time I have a pizza craving!
Husband also liked the wings, and he’s quite picky with his wings!

Natalie helped my fiance plan a surprise engagement party for us and she was incredibly helpful. She was very accommodating with all the changes he had to make with the date, time, and food. Being celiac, it's not always easy to find safe food to eat at a big party, but she made sure all of the food was celiac safe and DELICIOUS. All of our guests are still talking about how good the food and drinks were. I highly recommend the Ainsworth for your next party and the back bar lounge is a fantastic spot.

Really great experience here. Went with my sister and sat with our food and coffee outside. Huge patio deck with many tables. This is my new favorite spot! Thank you for carrying gluten free choices. Annie & ems is my favorite!
My group of 4 were all pleased with our meals. The fresh ricotta and my pork belly tacos was delicious. I was surprised they didn't have chicken wings (because I'm gluten-free)
