I’m the most complicated individual in terms of how stringent I am with food. I look into quality ingredients, seed oil free, halal, sugar free, soy free, gluten free, grass fed butter etc & Huma & Fabian understood my language & concerns & we’re able to accommodate my every request 100%. This shall be my go to spot for late lunch or dinner. Restaurant that promote quality down to the ingredients is rare.

As someone with celiac disease, finding safe and delicious gluten-free options can be a challenge, but Pondicheri absolutely delivers! Their menu has so many naturally gluten-free dishes, and the staff is knowledgeable and accommodating when it comes to dietary restrictions. It’s such a relief to enjoy incredible Indian-inspired food without worrying about cross-contamination. Everything I’ve tried has been packed with flavor, fresh, and so thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere is also warm and inviting, making it a great spot for anything from a casual lunch to a special night out. Tonight we had our church volunteer appreciation dinner at Carrabba’s. What an awesome night! The restaurant looks stunning, even more so than usual with all the holiday decorations. I have been coming here for many years, and it is always beautiful and an amazing experience. Tonight Ishmael and Darwin and the support staff were wonderful. I never had to ask for my glass to be refilled, or my plate to be taken. No small task with 25 people in the room for dinner. Being a former server it always is a breath of fresh air to receive excellent service, especially in this day and age of lackluster experiences at most restaurants after 2020. Every modification I asked for was kindly given to me, which I really appreciated because of being gluten free but still wanting the chicken Marsala. They had a smile on their face after any request that was made by anyone at the table, and I felt like family as I sat there. It was absolutely delicious! The chicken Marsala here is probably the best I’ve ever had. I ate the chicken Marsala at one of the franchises of Carraba’s at the airport in Atlanta in October and it was not even close. It didn’t even compare to how delicious the food is here st the Original. The servers even knew exactly when to close the doors so that we could have some quiet while we ate, visited, played a game, and went around the room to talk about the past year and our grateful hearts for our church family and our pastors. Although I do my best to give compliments instead of complaints, I don’t always succeed in remembering to do it. However, I had to post a review now while I was thinking about it so you would know how happy the whole group was with the meal and the service. Thanks for always being consistently great, guys!

I’ve eaten at dozens of Ethiopian restaurants. This place takes a while to bring the food but it is extremely fresh and tasty. The pistachio cake is amazing. The blue Nile lamb special and doro wot are solid. They offer the gluten free and non gluten free injera which is a solid win. Doro Wot perfectly made. The right proportions on everything. Will be back. A gem in Houston. My friend loved the cardamom and cinnamon Ethiopian tea.

I've been coming here for several years now, and I've always been impressed with all of their dishes. Their waitstaff, especially Carlos, has always been on-point and professional. The biggest draw for my family and I is the Gluten-Free crust options. My wife has Celiac's, has never had a problem, and this has consistently been some of the best GF pizza we've found in Houston.

Vegan and gluten free and delicious. Fresh and amazing with great prices. Friendly service. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. I don't think it is a language barrier thing about the gluten free thing, as some other reviewer said, as my husband is a Cantonese speaker and spoke to our server at length. I guess I will know in a few hours if I die from eating the noodles and dumplings!

My party and I had a wonderful experience, especially thanks to our server Brian. My boyfriend has a gluten allergy and trying to find a place with gluten-free options or people who are knowledgeable of a gluten-free diet is always a challenge. I told Brian ahead of time that our table had a gluten allergy and he told us to go ahead, select our options and he would see what he could do. We ordered an assortment of nigiri, three rolls, the ceviche, grilled shishito peppers, house made seaweed salad - all of which Brian made sure could be modified into a gluten-free version and were still so delicious! We were so pleasantly surprised to hear his expertise on the ingredients in each dish. I could tell how attentive he was being throughout the night as he brought us our dessert bowls before we had the chance to order, it felt like he was reading our minds. The kakigori and green tea soufflé cake were also gluten-free and were a lovely touch to end the night on. We’re still raving about the amazing experience today and it wouldn’t have been the same without him. Thank you so much! :)

Excellent food and service. I took visitors from out of town and they were very pleased with the food and service. This was my first time also, so I was not certain what to expect. We were all impressed. Troy our waiter was exceptional. He went overboard to meet our needs and food preferences, including gluten free requests. Will return to this restaurant many times.

It has usually been pretty good, but my last visit wasn't great. I ordered the relleno that is gluten free and it just tasted "off". We let the waitress know and she brought the manager out. I didn't make a huge complaint because I figured I might just not like the sauce it was in. So, when the manager offered to make a new dish I thought that was great. But, I asked for no sauce and no spinach, figuring one of those might have been the problem. He didn't pay attention though, and after waiting a long while, a dish drowning in sauce was brought out. He had not paid attention at all. Then, my friend, who likes all their sauces offered to buy that meal and just have it wrapped up for lunch and the waitress acted so weird about it. I even let her know - no - He is offering to pay for it, but she said she still had to talk to the manager 🙄 what? Finally got the 3rd attempt out- only for it to still not taste great. I gave that to my friend, because by this time I just wasn't hungry any more. I may or may not go back, but I'm certainly not excited about it. The wrong food happens, but the absolute inability to pay attention to what the customer is saying - just too problematic.

It may seem like a gimmick but if you want some place to try mead, know that it drinks like a beer but tastes like a wine and this is the place to try something you'll like with some amazing food to boot. They have gluten free wrap and plenty of vegetarian options too so this is an all inclusive place.

The inside is kind of like a yellow local foods. There is a good amount of seating. I had one of the bowls and it tasted like a healthy choice steamer bowl, I think that's what it was called, which is to say it tasted good. Those frozen bowls were good. Overall the bowl was tasty, not really spicy, definitely have a good amount of appetizing options. They also have vegan and gluten free options. The fruit juice I don't recommend. While fresh it contains a lot of the blended fruit fiber (?). Would comeback though.

Davanti Ristorante is a cozy and authentic Italian restaurant in Houston that offers great cooking and fantastic vibes. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and fresh. I ordered the Tagliolini Verdure e Gamberi, a thin pasta dish with shrimp and vegetables. It was a satisfying and healthy meal that had the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The shrimp were juicy and flavorful, the pasta was cooked perfectly, and the vegetables added a nice crunch and color to the dish. The basil gave it a fragrant touch that made it even more appetizing. I also had the tiramisu for dessert, and it was amazing. It was creamy, fluffy, and rich, with a hint of coffee and cocoa. It was the perfect way to end my meal. I also enjoyed the wine selection and the gluten-free desserts that they offer. Davanti Ristorante is a gem in the city that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality Italian dining experience.

Always really good and everyone is amazingly friendly. The food is very good quality and one of the only places I know of to offer gluten free fried rice. Honestly one of the best spots around, especially if you love good vietnamese. Can't recommend enough.

I'm not one for ethnic foods, but this was actually really good! I got the Chicken Pita, and it was actually very filling, which I didn't expect for the price and the way this restaurant looked. Vegetarian friend and gluten-free friend were also both very satisfied with their orders. Staff was very kind and helpful, came to the table a few times. The only thing I don't recommend is the pita chips, they were very plain and dry, not worth getting.

My beau and I visited Verandah for the first time Feb. 25, 2024 and we were quite pleased with our experience. Being of Trinidadian descent, I am quite familiar with the Indian influence in our cuisine and I was excited to explore Verandah's menu. We had a large breakfast earlier, therefore for lunch we had the following: - Samosa - Kerala Shrimp - Verandah House Salad - 2 cocktails (not listed on website, but listed on menu in house) Chefs Sunil and Anupama were both in house and took the time to share details about our menu selection and even provided a tour of their restaurant. Sunil and Anupama were very kind with beautiful energy. It is quite apparent that they both love what they do, which is evident in the attention to detail in both the decor and cuisine. Of the 3 items we had, my favorite was the house salad which is so much more than any house salad I've had! The salad was presented beautifully in a gluten free shell with vibrant veggies and the chef's special vinaigrette (with a nice spicy kick) drizzled. This level of attention to detail, even for the house salad speaks to the level of intention Sunil, Anupama and their staff place on ensuring their guests feel seen, valued and appreciated. With Houstonians having so many choices when it comes to cuisine and restaurants with excellent food; customer service along with ambiance are areas that really allow restaurants to stand out. Sunil, Anupama and their Verandah team have these down! We look forward to experiencing dinner at the restaurant and how the ambiance feels at night with all of the beautiful glass and soft lighting. Easily the best bang for your buck sushi in Houston. The sushi is super fresh and they have a large menu with tons of options. They have gluten free soy sauce for the celiac and gluten intolerant. If you’re not looking to splurge at one of the really high end sushi places, this is the place.

Disclaimer: I've only had traditional afternoon tea service. My friend enjoys it, so I've gone twice, still not seeing the appeal. I imagine (and heard) the actual Indian food is good. Afternoon Tea: The tea is very good, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, and premixed chai that's sweet and spiced. Several-course thing with tiny appetizer, scone, sandwiches, including cucumber, and a dessert tower. If you're into British traditions, seems legit. The scones came with clotted cream (and jam). Fancy tea time will never be my thing, but my friend told them we were gluten-free, and they served us the same menu, only g-free, besides one small puff pastry, including our own g-free dessert tower, which was very nice. Also, they had a kids' menu, which was really nice, but had a lot of sugar on it--milk shake option, plus 4 servings of dessert at the end--2 cookies, ice cream, and some kind of cake, all for one kid, which to me, is a lot. So, excellent service, inclusive menu, try some other meal than the tea service, expensive.

I chose Roka Akor for my birthday dinner and Roka Akor did not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised to see 40- and 20-year port on their menu and I enjoyed a glass of each. I ordered the Japanese styled fried chicken - chefs kiss! We shared the brussel sprouts - this ranks amongst the best I've had. My husband ordered steak and loved it so much he finished it and ordered *another* meat dish (which he also enjoyed). Our waiter was very detail oriented, taking the time to make sure my gluten sensitivity was covered and being swift in her service but not at all in a "I'm sooo busy" kind of way. More so in a "I'm here and I want to give you space to enjoy yourselves". I like how the restaurant looks - clean and almost minimilist. Parking is very easy as well. Overall, we will be back in the near future!

Gluten free pizza in Houston! A great find for a more casual atmosphere and very yummy pizza (Thin crust and wood fired). I didn’t have any reaction after eating here (did ask them to change gloves). My friend got a regular pizza and it was thick crust and looked delicious!

Celebrated my in-law's 50th wedding anniversary last night and we chose MaKiin for their variety of gluten free and vegetarian options to meet our needs. They celebrated the couple with a custom sign board, champagne and ice cream. The service was great and the food was also really tasty with generous portions. The cotton candy chocolate tree desert was a big hit with my children. There was also live music while we were there.
