We were in the area and looking for somewhere tasty to go for lunch, and after seeing the reviews, we decided we wanted to come to blackies!
Even though we were a walk in, they were able to accommodate us and accommodate us, they did.
Most of the menu can be made GF, and there are pages, upon pages to this menu. Not only did I enjoy my meal (I got the French Onion Cheesesteak with Fries and it was SUPERB 🤌🏽), but my gluten eating family also had a meal. My Dad even said it was the BEST Ruben he's ever had (and he loves a ruben).
Since it was our first time there, our wonderful server was able to field all of my GF/Celiac-related questions with ease.
The restaurant is owned by two lovely women: one of whom has Celiac. They have dedicated fryers, AND they have separate kitchen tools (knives, utensils, cutting boards, aprons, etc.) for the preparation of GF meals. On top of all that, my food was brought out FIRST and SEPARATELY. Our server even brought out a new bottle of ketchup with my food so that there wasn't any CC.
I felt so well taken care of by the staff, and so safe while we were there, it was a new level of Celiac-care in this dining experience. I cannot more highly recommend blackies if you're ever in RI/Providence!!!
Chill vibes and cozy decor make for a perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely meal with great service and a memorable atmosphere.

This was the best dining experience I have had in a long time. Since being diagnosed with Celiac, it is really hard to enjoy eating out without fear of “being glutened”. After reading tons of reviews and the allergy safety protocols on their website, we decided to give this place a shot. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with nothing but assurance and the staff were so incredibly kind. There is a food safety coordinator certificate on the hostess stand that is also really impressive. On OpenTable you can say if you’re celebrating something at the time of your reservation, and while I have filled this out before, no restaurant has ever acknowledged it. I mentioned in my reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and as soon as we walked in the Food Safety coordinator who I also think is the owner told us happy anniversary, followed by the woman who walked us to our table and our waitress. At the end of our meal we were gifted a surprise gluten free crème brûlée with a candle in it! It was just the most special night with the most incredible food. Everyone was so kind. I can’t sing their praises enough.
Eclectic vibes, cool art, and tasty drinks make this spot a must-visit for anyone craving a unique dining experience with great atmosphere.

My family went to Rhode Roots for the first time yesterday and were very impressed. A++ all around. My wife has celiac disease and finding gluten free safe restaurants with such an extensive menu can be challenging. We tried the clam cakes and chowder and and they were delicious. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to go back and try some other items on the menu.
Charming hidden gem with a waterfront view, known for its ample lobster portions and a chill vibe. Patrons love the back deck!

I have been to TwoTen Oyster Bar and Grill in South Kingstown, RI multiple times and have always enjoyed my experience. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning view overlooking the water and ample outdoor seating. The food is mostly delicious, with fresh oysters and a fantastic crab dip that I highly recommend. They also have an extensive gluten free menu and even offer sushi.
However, the service can be a bit hit or miss. During my last visit, there were very long wait times despite it not being crowded and being during the week. There was also conflicting information regarding happy hour ordering times, and our waitress messed up the billing and thought she lost my credit card after giving it to her.
The lobster roll was a bit disappointing as it was supposed to be hot with butter but was room temp with no butter and a bit rubbery with a soggy bun. The under seasoned fries were also a letdown. Drinks took 45 mins to arrive and the ice in the cocktail was melted already upon arrival.
Overall, I would still recommend TwoTen Oyster Bar and Grill for its beautiful atmosphere and mostly delicious food. It's a step above casual dining and perfect for a fun summer meal. Just be prepared for some drawbacks in terms of service and food quality. I wouldn't hesitate to return for another visit.
This spot delivers a contemporary vibe and a great selection of dishes, making it a lively choice for any occasion or day out.

We had Toni, and if you want an amazing, relatable waitress that will go above and beyond for you every step of the way, REQUEST TONI. This is my go-to gluten free and allergen-safe restaurant. Did I mention that the ENTIRE MENU can be made gluten free? THANK YOU TONI AND 110 GRILL for the best birthday! We WILL be back and requesting TONI. <3

Everything was good except for the grilled octopus which I sent back because you couldn't even chew it. Second time was better but still just ok. But the standout here was the gluten-free lamb poutine, everyone loved that!
With a mix of laid-back vibes and comfy outdoor seating, this spot offers huge portions and tasty dishes that impress everyone.

Apponaug is a fantastic Rhode Island brewery. Typical (but beautiful) industrial/converted mill aesthetic, great food (including gluten free options for my wife), and a wide variety of beer styles. They generally have a strong German lineup (Kolsch, pils, schwartzbier, Vienna) alongside more modern styles (ipa, NEIPA, Mexican lager). Services is always friendly , and the outdoor space is amazing when it's not raining.
This spot impresses with an extensive menu and a vibrant atmosphere, ensuring a memorable dining experience that keeps guests coming back.

Nearly all items on the extensive menu can be made gluten free. I had fish and chips! Which was excellent. The fish was so fresh and tender, the chips were chip/French fries. I also got a little loaf of gluten free bread! Also amazing with the cinnamon maple butter. And if you are so fortunate enough to have the server Julianne, your whole experience will be made better. You will leave feeling happier and know she truly cared about your food and dining experience. Her knowledge about gluten free food, caring attitude and willingness to go above and beyond should well be noted. I love, love love everything about this restaurant and can't wait to go back, and hope that Julianne will be working. A++++
With slow service and a slippery floor, the vibe here is chill but can be frustrating if you're in a hurry.

Came to Red Robin because they were very gluten friendly. Not any more. The menu no longer lists gluten free items. No gluten free buns. Fries were burnt stale and cold

We had a delicious dinner at Leo’s this evening. The veal parm was off the charts, and the gluten free pizza was the best I’ve ever had. Wine, service, quality of food and ambiance will have us coming back soon.
Expect a trendy spot with a diverse menu, great atmosphere, and long waits that might test your patience.

This is the only chain where my friend with a gluten allergy has never (knock on wood) had an issue with cross-contamination. No matter which location we have gone to, the food is always good and the staff is always friendly. Highly recommend.

Worst restaurant experience ever! Do not go here! I have celiac and I ordered a meal off the item that was shown as gluten free on the menu after I told the waitress that I was gluten free, and it turns out that it wasn’t! I ate some of the meal, and something didn’t seem right to me. I asked the waitress (who finally came back after at least 20 mins, and there was only one other table seated in the entire restaurant) to verify if it was indeed gluten free, she said that she “thinks” it is. She went back to the kitchen to check and then a gentleman came out (assuming the manager?) and informed me that it was not made as gluten free. He said the menu has it listed that way because it can be made gluten free upon request. That is NOT how it is written on the menu, PLUS I did inform her when ordering the food that I cannot have anything with gluten. I was beyond livid. They did not even offer to comp my meal and I was sick to my stomach after eating the small portion of my meal. Fix your menu!!!!!

We love this place. We have been to the Cranston location before, but this was our first time at the Smithfield location. Unfortunately they don't have gluten free items marked on their menu, but the server was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. We went specifically to try the wings as part of the Lord of the Wings event, the wings were great! We also had a gf Biggie Mac Pizza, and one of the turkey burgers! So good!

Highly recommend this place. The food was delicious. I had a green salad with asparagus, winter squash with cilantro vinaigrette and seared scallops. My husband and my dad had chicken pot pie and my mom had a burger. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our meals. For starters, we had gluten free fried calamari with rice flour.
A hidden treasure, highly praised for its unique drink specialties, captivating live music, and sunny patio seating with hints of yacht club views.

I wish I could partially recommend a place. I am not one to leave bad reviews however the ignorance we received on 7/27 is beyond unacceptable. Our server was very clearly on the lackadaisical side. Normally, no worries, however when you have someone with celiac disease you are always cautious. The server assured us the menu offered “so many gluten free options and not to worry” so we ordered asking multiple times if particular items could be made gluten free. She said yes and put in our order. Our food was dropped by Patrick who I then asked for reassurance if both dishes we asked to be GF were in fact gluten free because I wasn’t a fan of the server’s lackadaisical personality. He went back to Chef Cara and a taller man behind the line and double checked. The pork chop was in fact NOT gluten free nor was it even marked on the ticket to be made gluten free. A mistake like this would have sent my brother to the hospital and killed someone like my mom who is an extreme celiac. While the meals we ate were yummy and we are EXTREMELY thankful for people like Patrick and Cara. The server we had should absolutely not be working in the industry if they can’t take a gluten allergy seriously or even bother learning a menu.
