First time we visited food was good, second time my partner thought there might have been cross contact as it seemed more rushed, and she experienced symptoms after. We decided to give this place a try on our second day in Zakynthos — and we were so pleased with the experience that we ended up coming back every evening.
The staff is incredibly kind — and not in a forced way. You can feel that Saimir and his Team genuinely enjoy interacting with guests, offering advice, and making sure you feel welcome and cared for. They’re also very accommodating when it comes to individual needs (for example, my wife doesn’t consume dairy or gluten).
As for the food — whatever you choose will definitely be made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Portions are generous and satisfying. I personally preferred the “Traditional Dishes” section of the menu, including lamb kleftiko, moussaka, honey lamb, and beef stifado, among others.
The setting and atmosphere are also lovely.
One thing to keep in mind: if you’re planning to come after 8:00 PM, it’s advisable to make a reservation, as the place fills up quickly. Also, since it can get quite busy and all dishes are prepared fresh and with care, you should expect to wait around 30-40 minutes for your main courses. If you're very hungry, consider ordering some starters to begin with.
In summary: Avli is highly recommended!

I didn't like the island of Zakynthos at all, I can say that the only thing I liked was this restaurant. Don't go without making a reservation, all tables are full. Food was delicious.
