Was planning to have Thai at the place next door, but it was closed...Star Hotel was warm (wood fire), shared a comfy & cosy booth with hubby. Generous serves for dinner. Could have had the Mushroom Bruschetta as my main instead of side dish... Atlantic Salmon cooked perfectly. Hubby very happy with Gluten Free options. Big thumbs up.

Exceptional! 3 night Escape package exceeded all our expectations. We stayed in one of the modern luxury coastal pavilions which had a super comfy bed, private outdoor deck with outdoor bath and every amenity we could want - fluffy towels, Cosy heating, privacy and included mini bar! We went on a fantastic cruise one day and spent time walking the fantastic tracks in the National Park. From the moment I called to book the Staff service has been outstanding. Every member of the Team were happy, caring, friendly and willing to do whatever it took to make our stay fantastic. As a coeliac the care and fantastic food (love a gluten free burger and fries!) which we loved was greatly appreciated. Breakfast was lovely with heaps of gluten free options and great coffee! David in particular at Reception was kind and incredible assisting us with any request we threw at him! This is a little slice of heaven - thanks for an incredible experience and memories that will last a lifetime. Hoping to return again.
Unforgettable atmosphere with charming vibes that keep you coming back for more; a true gem for a delightful experience.

Fantastic. Great people and beautiful meals you will find it hard to get better anywhere. The Chef even made a beautiful gluten free mushroom gravy. Will continue to come back and back.

Visited for dinner whilst visiting Port Arthur. Recommend booking ahead during busy times as this is one of the few restaurants and it gets busy. Staff were fantastic, service was great and the atmosphere is faithfully in the Tudor style.
Food was great and only comment was that the veggies were somewhat sparse and somewhat overcooked and tomato based sauce with the salmon was a little over powering. But still really good, hearty food and well worth a visit.
Travelled with a member of our party who is gluten free, and there were many menu options to choose from

During a return holiday to Tassie I took my two teenagers to the Hadley's Orient Hotel for a high tea. Well, what a beautiful place and the high tea was fabulous. They also catered well for additional dietary needs with good gluten free options. Highly recommend this as part of your holiday or explorations while in Hobart.

What a wonderful experience! When I booked our stay I thought I had booked Freycinet Lodge and was apprehensive. Goodness what a marvelious mistake in turned out to be.
Karen and Summer were both wonderful. Karen was extremely professional, courteous, and informative of the area.
View: We were staying in Cabin 8 with breathtaking views at sunrise with the most wonderful panoramic scene that stretched in front of us.
Cabin 8 - kitchenette with a wonderful large king size bed which was ever so comfortable. The cabin was warm , cosy and on a cold afternoon a delight to be in savouring the view and enjoying a bottle of complemontory bubbles.
Road: 4 kilometres off an unsealed but good road.
Main Venue room: Magnificent view of sun setting over Coles Bay. There are a wide selection of games that can be played in that wonderful ambience.
Breakfast: Was more than adequate - selection of cereals, freshly squeezed juice, local yoghurt, croissants, ham cheese. My Gluten Free dietary needs were catered to with yummy Brookfarm Muesli and lovely GF bread.
A tranquil retreat with stunning views, cheerful staff, and delightful wildlife watching, making it a perfect escape for relaxation and inspiration.

I stayed at the Kermandie for a week of a writing retreat. Not only were the staff absolutely professional and helpful - I was very unwell for the first few days from the flu and then flying meant that my ears didn't pop (I'd been unwell for over a week already) and they did everything they possibly could to help me out. Michelle, Kurt, Deb and the team were friendly and really made this a fantastic stay. We'll be coming back for sure and bringing the rest of the family!!
The food was also marvellous and they did amazing work to accommodate not just my dietary requirements, but those of everyone else on the retreat. We had people on the retreat with terrible gluten allergies and the Kermandie did everything they could to create a safe space free from airborne contaminates. Sitting there in the restaurant having a lazy breakfast (potato crumpets are new to the menu and were amazing!) and just looking out at that view is something I could do every day of my life! I loved everything that came out of the kitchen and wish I had met the chef!! I never heard a complaint from anyone about their evening meal and I admit that I had the sticky date pudding several times!
The view from my unit was also fantastic, and just watching the birds kept me amused. There were king parrots (I think!) and willy-wagtails galore and bumblebees! Lots of people saw the platypus in the creek as well.

We stayed in the 3-bedroom cottage and had the most wonderful weekend. Everything was superb - the accommodation, location, restaurant and service were outstanding. The chef also managed to whip up a last minute gluten and dairy free birthday cake by request, which was perfect. Cannot wait to get back there!
My husband has Coeliac disease. Any contamination will affect him extremely badly. Tonight we had a delicious meal and were impressed when the chef talked us and made sure everything was gluten free. They even have a separate fryer. Eating out is fraught with problems and angst. Thankyou Mackeys
