Oh my god! We went here for dinner last night and the food was amazing! I’m severely intolerant to gluten and dairy and for the first time in years I was able to have a chicken Parma! Thank you so much XX

We had an excellent time at the Apollo Bay Hotel. Me and 3 friends arrived late into Apollo bay and wanted a decent feed. We came about 30 minutes until the kitchen closed and were met with such welcoming and accomodating customer service. I’m devastated I didn’t get her name, but the groovy woman in the black denim shorts was a gem. She ensured my celiac bestie had nothing to worry about. She offered gf replacements for non-gf elements of the meals. The serving sizes were very generous and delicious. We ate like 50 muscles. It was so good we forgot about our wine ! We will definitely be back, hopefully to see our lovely waitress.

What a beautiful place to eat. We were recommended this place as we were holidaying with our dogs at Best Friends Pet Retreat. The Commercial has a covered pet friendly dining area out the back.
The staff were amazing and thoughtful. As soon as you walked in, you were greeted with a smile and great attitude. This was all before you got your food.
The food was beautiful. We ordered from the lunch menu and the range was very good as was the pricing.
We were concerned that there would not be many gluten free options for a coeliac but we need not have worried. Almost everything on the lunch menu had a gluten free option. They list it as gluten friendly but they take great care not to cross contaminate.
If you are anywhere near Yarram then you can't go past the Commercial as a place to have a great meal.
Soak in stunning views of Mt Buffalo while enjoying a chic vibe, unique decor, and delicious meals that leave everyone satisfied.

Charming old-school vibes with a great location, but watch out for squeaky floors and a heavy door that needs a workout to navigate!

Nice rooms and great staff, but It felt a bit overpriced for a spruced up old hotel. The staircase and floorboards squeak, and the rooms were not very soundproof. The front door needs improving its heavy, and the closing mechanism needs superman to hold it open while trying to squeeze your suitcase through. It is ideally located in the main street with everything close by. We had breakfast in the restaurant and would recommend very nice, they even have gluten-free options, just ask the wait staff

Really really bad service, waiting for 10 mins for menus waiting 10-15 mins for a waiter to take my order, no table service had to continual ask for things like cutlery, water etc.
And to top it all off they stuffed up the order........Fuming
AND the wait staff were busy running around doing minimal cleaning work or talking or throwing stuff to the other staff behind me. Like i was at a football event
To put this into context it was not busy, just badly staffed and disorganized
Really really disappointed
I did order Gluten Free so fingers crossed my son does not get sick because if he does I will be making an official complaint!!

Thank you for the most amazing gluten free chicken parma, chips & salad. Honestly would never know it was GF, so good! As a Coeliac it's so hard & tricky finding places to eat, however you guys have nailed it. Will we be back? Without a doubt!
Gluten free & coeliac safe ✔️ separate fryers & prep area ✔️

If I could leave 0 stars I would.
We had a booking for 31 people, so many disappointed people. Gluten free options on the menu not available so had to settle for chicken burgers, came out on bread. Kids were so upset.
Burnt pizza, lamb cutlets that were not lamb and the roast of the day which was nursing home food.
Spoke to manager who didn't care and was pretty much told to deal with it.

Waiter was nice too. I had a Caesar salad and the egg was hard poached, never had it like that before... was tolerable, the rest of the salad was great.

We had a lovely dinner at this pub! All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had the most amazing Gluten Free Prawn Linguine, it was the best food I’ve eaten in ages!
Kids meals were a little pricey but they were nice and you do get an ice cream and soft drink with them.
Also had a really nice expresso martini.
They have a cool open fire with games that you can play while you wait for tea, they had really cool eclectic furniture, they had a great outdoor area with a big tv and a pool table.
I really loved this pub, it was definitely worth stopping in for tea.
A delightful spot for a cozy pub experience, serving up delicious dishes that guests rave about—highly recommended!

Great buffet breakfast options, including many gluten free options - even a dedicated gluten free toaster just for the gluten free bread, and gluten free cereal options! As a coeliac, it was great to have so many options. Only suggestion would be to make the allergen markings more consistent - while the baked beans were marked GF (as you’d expect), the scrambled eggs and jams/spreads were not marked GF, which was confusing. However, would totally visit again - great buffet breakfast experience.
With a diverse menu that caters to various dietary needs, this pub impresses with unique, tasty options and a welcoming vibe that keeps folks coming back.
Nice atmosphere, quick service. Great food with choices of small or large servings. Gluten free options. Not the usual pub food, great seafood salads and pasta dishes.

Had a lovely lunch at The Rifle Brigade Hotel yesterday. The food was really delicious with large portions for the the money. They have a few gluten free options which is good and the waitress asked if my gluten free meal was due to coeliac disease and which I really appreciated that they are considerate of that. I had the gluten free lemon pepper calamari which was flavourful and soft. My parents had the steak and the stuffed chicken which they both loved. Special thanks to our first waiter Fraser who was extremely accommodating to my mum. There was initially only tables available outside, we asked if it was possible to sit inside and initially was offered a bar table and bar chairs, due to my mum's injured leg it would have been hard for my to get up on a bar chair. Fraser did his best and found us a normal table. My mum was extremely appreciative. Wonderful experience and definitely would be back.

Great atmosphere hotel. Comfortable room to rest after a day of MTB and trail riding.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
We had dinner here as well. The food was delicious. We have gluten food allergies and their menu/allergy matrix is the best we have ever seen. We knew exactly what to order without asking 1,000 questions.
Keep up the awesome work. We highly recommend.

Very happy with EVERYTHING at Lake View Hotel. Been here a few times and all visits have been extremely happy with service, food and gluten free options. We will come again.
Do not eat here if you have dietary requirents. Worst options of any place I have eaten.
Ate here for a friend's birthday. Lovely setting, but very limited options for dairy and gluten free and staff not interested in assisting. Not willing to do grilled chicken or steak and veg/salad, only offered a plate of asparagus or rocket and onion salad.

We were looking for somewhere to have drinks and a light meal after a show at the Meat Market. I couldn’t book for our late time online, so I called and spoke to a super helpful staff member who managed to fit us in and let us know about their late-night menu. When we arrived, the same person greeted us and showed us to a table in the cosy dining area. We ordered one of everything from the small menu and it was all delicious. Our friends were gluten free and there were a number of options on the menu for them. My chip-connoisseur husband even said the chips were among the best in Melbourne! Fantastic service and seriously good food—this place is a gem.
Expect a welcoming vibe for both humans and pups, with thoughtful accommodations for various allergies and a quick, tasty experience.

A Hidden Gem in Goorambat (Gooram-where?)
I you're heading up towards the NSW Victorian border, make sure to stop by this small pub in Goorambat, 15mins from Benalla. The friendly staff greet you with a warm welcome and a cold beer or cider on tap.
The lamb burger is a standout—juicy and full of flavour, showcasing the best of local meat. Apparently it's the pub owners own farmed meat. So it’s not just a meal; it’s a taste of the region. Plus, the pub offers a solid selection of gluten-free options, ensuring everyone can find something to enjoy.
Families will love the massive beef schnitzel (although the chicken schnitzel is more tender). When our son ordered one, he was thrilled to receive two generous schnitzels, making it great value.
What really sets this pub apart is the attentive staff. They take the time to listen to your gluten and dairy-free needs and make sure your experience is enjoyable. They come to the table and chat, you really feel welcome.
How far do you travel to feel welcome?
You can even park your #caravan here and stay overnight. If you're a #graynomad then #Goorambat is a standout. Deliciously #coldbeer and #siloart is at hand... like very close at hand!
With good food, a welcoming vibe, and a commitment to customer care, this pub is a must-visit. It’s worth the journey—stop by and see for yourself. PS: Thank you 😌 and by way of a disclaimer we paid for our meal, it was sensational.

Ordered the chicken burger and the beef burger gluten free to take away. Everything was packaged up well to travel in cardboard and a paper bag. Both burgers were tasty and the chips had a yum mildly spicy seasoning. I was very happy to get a gluten free option and even happier that it was decent. The staff were happy and friendly both on the phone and when I picked up. Place seemed like a nice spot for dinner or drinks with both a cosy inside and sunny beer garden courtyard.

My husband and I had dinner here whilst traveling in the area. The staff were friendly, and it is dog friendly in the outside dining area. However, the menu didn't offer any gluten-free options, and the medium-rare steak I ordered was well done. My husband was happy with his meal.

The good reviews and the fact the chicken and chips are gluten free were the main reasons for going slightly out of my way to get our dinner. The chips weren't too crunchy and were way over salted. The marinade on the roast chicken wasn't balanced and not that pleasant to eat. The chicken was dry (even the brown meat) which is pretty hard to do. The green bean salad was quite nice.
Overall we won't be coming back and disappointed with our meals.
