We had an amazing afternoon tea - the sandwiches were fresh and delicious with lovely tea, scones and cakes too. My friend who is coeliac was fully catered for with gluten-free sandwiches, scones and cakes. A lovely environment with great service - will definitely return.

Came here for Father’s Day. This was our second visit to this pub and the food was excellent. The pub offers gluten free which is safe for coeliacs so I always eat well. I had the pork roast, the portion was massive. Only negative was no GF Yorkshire and the pigs in blankets was just stuffing wrapped in bacon which was a shame. However they were absolutely huge. The staff are always helpful and friendly.

I met a friend there for lunch and she is celiac, gf and a vegy. The service was fantastic; fast, efficient and friendly! The food was lovely and I'd recommend the key lime pie.... def all home made and delicious. And loads of choice for my friends dietary requirements and obviously adhered to as she's not been ill and is extremely affected even through cross contamination so well done!

Only went for an evening meal. Excellent venue, very attractive inside and out. Food was super quality and plentiful. Good Gluten free range for me which is a rarely found in eating establishments. Prices were also good. Staff were very efficient and kind. Great range of beers, cocktails and spirits.My only gripe is that dogs should not be allowed anywhere in restaurants because of the smell and noise they create and that the vast majority of dog owners haven't bothered to train their dogs. I understand that venue owners want to attract dogs owners so they do have separate area for dog owners to eat which is a good idea. I say, leave your stinky, noisy dogs at home. All in all its a fab place to eat, drink or have a party. Even though its a two hour drive I would definitely return.

As a coeliac it's difficult to find places that can cater for me and are well informed about it. Havener's went above and beyond. Staff went through the menu with me but effectively they could make almost anything gluten free. I opted for the burger from the specials menu and it was the best burger I've had for a very long time. 10/10.

Had a lovely weekend stay here, bed really comfy and room nicely decorated. Loved being able to sit by the river with a drink and so nice to have vegan and gluten free options, could have a proper meal, even a dessert and full vegan breakfast! Staff really helpful as well

Had a fantastic pub dinner here tonight. Very friendly, cordial service, welcoming to kids and all-round having a nice welcoming vibe. They are a great advert for traditional, well-thought out pub food. They also have good gluten-free options and are aware of the requirements for coeliacs. Prices are OK for the area. The ale (from a local brewer) was truly delicious, they clearly know how to keep and serve it. Best to book ahead.

Lovely pub that is much bigger than it looks from the outside! Good sized room and great food and drink on offer. Plus they had a good gluten free offer, just ask and they will let you know what they can do. You have to pay for your dog to stay too, but 50% of the money goes to a local dog shelter/charity

We stopped here for an evening meal and it was fantastic. Friendly and entertaining staff, good knowledge of catering for coeliac/ gluten free, really good kids options too. We had the hunters chicken, cheeseburger and kids chicken burger; all were fantastic and good prices. Would recommend 😊

Nice breakfast, went for a catchup with friends and my family. Restaurant was clean and tidy, cutlery was clean unlike a lot of restaurants nowadays, music was good quality as well as suitable and service was good. Food was nice as well. All in a great dining experience and would go again. Only feedback is would be good to have the option for gluten free sausages. They catered for my intolerances, swapping the egg, gluten free bread and dairy free alternative for my ice latte. Also to have been left a little longer before asking if the foods ok, i hadn’t even started. But all is good. I didn’t say so cannot comment on the rooms. But from a dining perspective much nicer than the likes of premier inn and holiday inn.

A real gem- beautiful views across thee cove, warm and welcoming also with open fire (we visited in November),, immaculate, food perfect (we had gluten free fish and chips and it was the best we have had), and staff super helpful, friendly and polite. Been here a couple of times for a drink, but the last time we had a meal, absolutely divine, the service was brilliant, the staff are very helpful and being celiac all the meals are Gluten Free, so for me I have masses of choice, instead of normally a very small choice. So will be back again

We could not be more appreciative of the team at Cliff House ! Simply Awesome stay . My wife had booked us a two night stay at the Cliff House as a birthday surprise for me. From the moment we checked in the staff were professional and attentive. The room was smart and clean with a great view over the sea. We ate in the restaurant on Friday evening and the food was superb (catering for gluten free also). The service again was just right … attentive and friendly. The filet steak was genuinely top 3 I have ever had ! Breakfast was lovely, with options available from cereals to full cooked. Every member of staff we met was so friendly and caring. A very well put together experience ! - the hotel managed to find the balance between a relaxed beach front vibe, but also with a great twist of professionalism and guest care. Sad to have left .
