Fantastic gluten free pizza! We come here every time we’re in South Lake. The only drawback is that it gets so busy on weekends that it can be hard to get a table and service can be a little slow. Great beer & cocktail options, friendly staff, and good vibes all around, though!
This vibrant spot offers delicious eats, live music, and a lively atmosphere, making it a must-visit when you're in the area!

If you are gluten free, vegetarian, or both, this place is truly dismal. Strong start on their gluten free fryer being "unavailable", so everything fried marked as gluten free is, in fact, a lie. So that's all out. There's a grand total of two vegetarian options, one of which is a veggie burger (which isn't gluten free) and an "ultimate salad", which can be made gluten free by removing the candied walnuts. They even put bacon & non-veggie pesto in the grilled cheese, just to really hammer the point home that you shouldn't be eating there. Ordered the ultimate salad but gf. This has got to be the most optimistic name I've ever heard. What arrived was a stone cold plate of lettuce with refrigerated chunks of butternut squash which had clearly not been "oven roasted" any time recently and instead clearly come straight out the fridge, leading them to be stringy & essentially inedible. This had the audacity to be priced at $24. I sent back this dismal excuse for a salad and ate at the Mexican next door, which believes both vegetarians, and coeliacs actually exist.
Fresh, organic options in a relaxed vibe with quick service, perfect for health-conscious eaters and those with dietary restrictions.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been here, but the menu continues to impress. I ordered the A.T.O.M. bagel with gluten-free bread, which was fantastic. I really appreciated that with the substitution, I was not charged extra. The perfect place to sit and enjoy the delights of South Lake Tahoe.
I also really appreciate the menu, which makes it very easy to see what other options are available and what is popular. The wait in line is always a little long, but it is worth it. This is one of the OG places to find vegan and vegetarian food and it continues to impress.
Delicious pizza with a standout crust and speedy service, plus tempting house sauces and a fun vibe make this spot a must-visit!

Gluten free pizza, wings, and tots. The GF pizza was great. My friends had the regular pizza and said it was great. The house spicy sweet bbq sauce is really good. They even have a GF calzone that I'll have to try next time.

Really good gluten free Shepherd's pie. It was filling after a day of hiking. It had real U.K. vibes, down to having to go downstairs to find the restroom.

Food was delicious. Server was very attentive. We have kids with food allergies - one became sick from gluten cross contamination. Our table was not near the front door, but we were very cold because the guests checking in were holding the door open which created a draft through the restaurant. Many people inside were wearing their jackets - they should move the check in desk outside.

I was very excited to try a gluten free ice cream sandwich at the Baked Bear and was extremely disappointed when they didn’t have any gluten free cookies of either type because “they have to be cooked on a separate tray.” Duh!? I wouldn’t be that upset had they simply run out of gluten free cookies, but the implication was making gluten free was too much work. We went on a Saturday, at 3pm, and it was 80 degrees out, so it wasn’t a low demand time or anything like that. Don’t put gluten free on your menu if you can’t bother to actually make the gluten free cookies when that is literally your business….. Additionally, they scooped my son’s ice cream into an upcharged waffle cone because they “were out of normal cones.” My wife had already paid and there was no mention of the upcharge they just decided for me. Pretty terrible service all in all and was a bad enough experience I am leaving a review. Unfortunate.

Love the GF waffles!!! I can't eat grains or dairy so this place is great for the dietary restrictions, but more importantly the food is SO good. One of the best cafes I've ever been to with or without gluten. Great vibes, super nice baristas, and awesome food.

Amazing sushi dinner! We had a BBQ albacor and Beet poke for appetizers. Then moved to Mushroom and Lilly roll along with Nigri seared tuna and a glass of Pinot Noir. Our waitress was Danni and she was fantastic. We were a challenging table with a vegan and gluten free diners. Danni rose to the occasion and we were delighted with our food and service. We would highly recommend Yugen Cuisine and will return to dine again!

I am gluten free, the pizza I ordered this afternoon was inedible, the sauce tasted like tomato paste straight from the can, it was cold, little to no cheese
Very disappointing also Very expensive

Great burgers. My friend had the gluten-free bun and liked it. My other friend had the impossible burger said it was just OK. My burger was excellent. Lots of tables to sit outdoors. And is dog friendly.

This is our favorite restaurant in South Lake Tahoe. We take all our guest here. Real wasabi, fresh fish, great sushi rice, yummy miso, awesome staff, delicious drinks and always accommodates my gluten free choices. They even have a gluten free menu. We are locals so don’t eat out much but when we do it’s because we are craving this restaurant. Thank you for always being a great go to and serving up the best sushi in town 🤩✨🫶🙌🏼

Simple rotisserie and taco+burrito counter with really high quality food. The ingredients are top notch. They have chicken and tri tip on the rotisserie. Also fish and plenty of veggie, vegan, gluten free options. We got fish tacos, a tri tip burrito and a salad, it all came in about three minutes. Relaxed atmosphere with a few outdoor tables. This is going to be one of the local favorites very quickly.
Food is excellent everything is made on the premises including all the pasta. They also have gluten free pasta. Very affordable. I highly recommend Primos.

We were staying in South Lake Tahoe for the week and visited Off the Hook for dinner Friday night. Place was jamin when we arrived around 7:00p which is always a good sign. Wait was :30min but they offered some drinks while we hung out. Only took :20min to be seated. I appreciate that they were quicker than communicated.
Chose this place because it is allergy friendly, catering to gluten free, dairy free, nut and other allergies. They have a tailored menu to GF with several options.
We went all in on the sushi and it was delicious.
They even brought Tamari sauce out per our request.
Sat at the bar and the sushi chef was on it.
Quick service and very polite.

Great food, unfortunately they had no offerings for vegetarians. My wife and I forgot to check the menu ahead of time, so that's our bad. They have great cocktails and an amazing view, so we tried to make the best of it with a selection of hors d'oeuvres, but they only had one of the meatless options available. So we had a couple salads and the zucchini with a tzatziki sauce, then ordered a couple desserts. Not the most filling meal (particularly for $122 without tip), but what we had tasted fabulous. Everything was flavorful and elegantly served.
We were seated at 5:30, and they were already out of one of the hors d'oeuvres, and before 6:30 we heard them telling other people that they were out of half the things on the menu. So it seems they have some planning issues, but the server was very friendly and as helpful as you could ever ask for. We heard her spend almost 10 minutes talking through the potentially gluten free options with another table. I would not have had her patience.

Cannot recommend enough, best food in South Tahoe. Server (Scott) was attentive, accommodating and had a fantastic knowledge of allergens, what could be made gluten free e.g. pan fried tofu to avoid cross contamination. Food was delicious, as were the cocktails and the ambience is lovely. Would thoroughly recommend this and Magic After Dark to anyone visiting Tahoe.

Nice little Mexican food restaurant. Staff was nice. First chips and salsa is included, if you ask for more salsa, it's $2 for each one. They don't give you a heads up on that, they just bring it and then charge you. Fyi. Still good food. They have gluten-free free options.

So good we had dinner and then lunch the next day! Absolutely delicious, full of flavour and has been the best place so far on our California road trip in meeting the dietary needs of my family - one vegan, one with both gluten and dairy allergies, and two seafood lovers!
Every mouthful full of flavour - well worth the money as it is also reasonably priced.
My go-to morning coffee place. Great acai bowls, and the staff and owner are all super awesome! If you're gluten free, you can get the burrito as a bowl instead!

This place was the perfect spot to stop by for breakfast before going skiing! Even though vegan options were not listed on the menu the staff helped me make the pacific wrap with honey dressing vegan (soo good!) and cooked my oatmeal in water and it was delicious with some berries on top! Even though they were busy, the wait time wasn’t too long at all. Gluten free options available too.
Super nice staff, we were well taken care of even when waiting 10 mins for an outside table. Cute spot and the food was beyond belief. I had the huevos rancheros (they happily happily substituted the corn tortillas since I am gluten free) and their hot tea was actually hot. My boyfriend had their sweet and sour french toast and he said it was the best french toast he's ever had. We hope to return again soon!

Great tuna melts! On the way back from Tahoe we found this gem. Didn't have high expectations but was better than bay area tuna melts. I got mine on gluten free bagel and without cheese and that was excellent too. Hubby got his the regular way and it was really good. Not sure which bread they used but seemed like they make it in house, it was that fresh.
Kids got grilled cheese and ate without complaining.
Ice creams we tried: almond pistachio, butter pecan, cookies and cream. All very good.
The place has holiday decor and gives a very cozy vibe.
Fresh and flavorful, this spot serves up massive, delicious burgers that leave a lasting impression—definitely a must-try when in Tahoe!

Decided to try Chicos after stopping in the plaza to get a coffee next door. I was a little surprised when rung up bc it was a little pricey. My skepticism completely disappeared after the first bite. Easily one the best burgers I’ve ever had. It was large, fresh and so delicious. Every aspect was so good, including some really great gluten free buns. Chinos is well worth it and is now on my list for stops any time I’m ever in Tahoe!
The vibrant atmosphere and attentive service here impress, making it a place where you can relax and enjoy the experience.

One of the first things that I saw when I entered the building was a sticker that said "I love Gluten". Having a minor gluten sensitivity, I was worried how this would play out. One of the owners walked out and asked if we had any questions. After mentioning my concern he walked through every menu item's ingredients. There were two options that seemed be safe but he was unsure about the second. He went to the kitchen and talked to the chef who was also unsure. The owner then called the off duty person in charge of prepping that dish.
I am very grateful for the level of service and consideration that was provided here. Full disclosure, there were not many gluten free options, but the pork shank was delicious.
We're long-time "Beacon" customers and arrived to find it's now "The Grove." Our experience (four of us) was disappointing. First, the $15 fee to access the restaurant was collected a guy who lied to us and said, "Oh, it's always here in the summer." B.S. I've never paid in my life and the restaurant didn't refund it.
Second, the food was lackluster. One of the three cups of hummus had a metallic/foul taste...yuck. Fries were soft and limp. The gluten-free bun with the chicken sandwich wasn't good at all.
Third, as with everything--the price was high. $82 bucks for two with a couple of drinks. Not terrible, but add in the $15 parking/access charge and meal tip--and we're at $115 !
And a final note...just gross. Talking about the server/busboy who had a toothpick in his mouth the whole time we were there...and I saw him take it out and put it back in his mouth a couple of times.
Gotta scratch the "The Grove" off our list for a while. Plenty of choices in South Lake Tahoe.
Great little cafe! Solid espresso, good baked goods (vegan and gluten free!) and a friendly barista. Highly recommend this place if you’re particular about your coffee 👍🏼
Small bistro within the Tahoe Resort Hotel. The menu is varied and includes vegan and gluten-free vegetarian dishes. The real star is Ms. Shea. She is quick to please and eager to make recommendations. She is very knowledgeable on many topics from wines to the best hiking spots around Lake Tahoe. She is a great ambassador for both the restaurant and the hotel. The meal itself was every bit as good as the menu suggests. I enjoyed the grill Portobello mushroom with polenta, spinach and a tomato coulis. I am planning another trip back to Tahoe this month and I will for sure dine here again.
