This is one of the first places I’ve had gluten-free Chinese food, and it reminds me of my childhood when my parents would treat me to (regular) Chinese food before I was diagnosed with celiac disease. Both my mom and I have celiac disease and have eaten here with confidence, as they have separate fryers to keep you safe. The ginger beef, sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork, and dumplings are my favourites (I couldn’t pick just one 🙊), and I’ve come here time and time again. AND- If you’re in for a crazy time, I recommend dining in after a late night out on the town (I won’t spoil the surprise but let me tell you, it’s unlike any dining experience I’ve ever had before and was unforgettable…).

A staple every time I go to Calgary. As a celiac I feel so safe here, staff always take time to make sure I understand what I can/cannot eat. I would say about 80 percent of the menu can be made gluten free including the fried chicken. It’s great to be able to share with friends and not sacrifice taste. Could not recommend more.

Pros: - Most of the menu can be made gluten free - JFK is a really tasty - We had a great server - Cool wall graffiti, lots to look at Cons: - Ramen made me feel sick had the regular Tonkotsu - Two employees or ex employees were super drunk yelling at the bar. The restaurant was empty so it was a little obnoxious - The restaurant smells like spray paint - The employees had all their stuff thrown onto a table, looked messy

Went to this place for brunch for the first time and had 3 amazing things to note. 1) the coconut chai was to die for and I would return just for that drink alone. 2) the vegan eggs Benedict on falafel was so perfectly savoury and delicious, as someone eating vegan and gluten free, I haven’t had something that covers my dietary restrictions taste so good in a long time. 3) the portion sizes!!! The quesadilla my family had was enormous, the side salads were huge! Amazing to have leftovers for later and even though we ate a lot, we didn’t feel gross after (which we often do with other places) because the ingredients were so clean. The staff were so kind and the restaurant gives cute earthy vibes. Hands down will be going back! (Wish we got photos to share!)

Clive Burger is our family's favourite Calgary burger joint! We love that you can customize your burger however you like it with a wide variety of standard and gourmet toppings. They have the best gluten free burger bun of anywhere I've been, and the fryer isn't cross contaminated so I can eat the fries. Which are so delicious - salty, crispy, and accompanied by Clive sauce (think Sriracha aioli). If you're feeling playful, try their milkshakes, which come spiked if you want.

Amazing poutine! Attended with a friend from Australia and we were both blown away. We had the Notorious PIG and the Cluster Buck. Wife had a Cluster Buck with vegan cheese and gluten free gravy. Staff was very accommodating to her allergies without issue! Would highly recommend!

One of my favourite Calgary spots yet. Exceptional staff. Great atmosphere- not too loud at all. I dine out 2-3x/ week and after 4 months into this city- this is a top spot. I’m celiac- tons of options and very helpful staff.

Normally like dining here but had a negative experience tonight. My partner was gluten poisoned despite being very clear with the server — she was given standard tempura and told they were gluten free. The manager did however offer to comp her bill. That was nice. The nori on my hand rolls was soft and stale, but they're supposed to be crunchy. Didn't have more than one bite and the server said they're always like that... but they're not. To top it off, we waited 20 minutes for our bill and all the "comp'd" items were still on there so we had to request another bill. Then our server ghosted us when it came to take payment and we had to find a server from another section. The tempura was great, but overall the value for food is not great, and this experience kind of ruined the previous positive ones I've had.

⭐️⭐️✨ (2.5 Stars – If I Could) The food here is actually quite good—flavourful, well-prepared, and the portions are decent. They also offer a fair selection of gluten-free options, which is important to me as someone with celiac. That said, the prices are a bit on the higher side for what you get. This was my second visit. The first time, I had a great experience, which is why I decided to bring my friend here for her birthday. Unfortunately, I regret that decision. It was such a letdown because I was genuinely excited to celebrate her special day here. But the lack of service and cleanliness made the experience disappointing. I booked a table well in advance and even selected the birthday option during the reservation. However, it seemed like they didn’t care or even acknowledge it. To make matters worse, we were seated in the worst spot—right next to the staff entrance. You’d think being so close to where the staff frequently pass through would mean better service, but no. We were completely neglected. Other establishments usually go above and beyond to make special occasions memorable, but here, there was zero consideration. Honestly, why even put the option for occasions during booking if nothing changes? Throughout the meal, no one checked on us—not even once. We wanted to order drinks, but after taking our food order, the server never returned to our table. No refills, no follow-up, nothing. She disappeared after dropping off our food and only reappeared when I had to flag her down for the bill. The experience was further let down by the state of the bathrooms—unclean and poorly maintained, which is unacceptable for any dining establishment. While the food is worth coming back for, the service and cleanliness need serious improvement. I hope the management takes these issues seriously.

Great place to go for brunch. Great selection of food and great service. Staff is very knowledgeable about allergy and dietary restrictions thus makes it very reassuring to eat for anyone who has celiac, etc. Highly recommend souffléd pancakes for anyone who is gf to try, AMAZING.

Amazing food, great atmosphere, and fabulous service. We had a pre-set menu with a large group, which was perfect. Unbelievable turkey, brisket, and our gluten-free diners have never had better gravy (they lucked their plates!)We can’t wait to come back again with our team next month!

The best service in downtown Calgary by far, our server Mariem (Mariam?) was super helpful and super kind. She accommodated all our requests as my fiancé can only eat gluten free and his sister is vegetarian. She provided us with all the appropriate menu options and made sure that there was no cross contamination with the meals. She really exceeded our expectations and I've never met a server so accommodating to all our dietary restrictions.

What a great place to stop and have a meal. They have a very nice patio that's heated. We had the cheese fondue with sirloin steak for protein. The fondue came with a basket of bread and a plate of veggies. They also gave us potato chips as one we needed a gluten-free option instead of bread. They are pooch friendly!

Went for the weekend brunch several times. Smaller selection but higher quality and more innovative. You can also order customized bennies for vegetarian or gluten free needs. Recommended. Downgraded from 5 star to 4 star - food no longer as good and price is high.

This location is arguably the best of the "Blocks". Excellent barbecue as always, huge whiskey selection, great cocktails. What's not to love? Many gluten free options too! All the BBQ meats are GF and many of the sides are as well. The menu isn't marked, but the servers are informed or will check with the kitchen.

I tried ordering a week ago and had difficulty with one of the staff, she told me nothing was gluten free however it is clearly advertised that they have many gluten free options. . I am a celiac so definitely needed to confirm what I was ordering was Gluten Free and would be prepared safely. I reached out on Facebook and got a proper response. Tonight I was able to order through Uber the food was flavourful and we have leftovers. Excellent portions, delicious flavours. Fantastic customer service from the Owner. You must try the oxtail. The curry chicken is also enjoyable along with the jerk chicken. Yes, all gluten free along with the rice and beans and Coleslaw. Thank you : )

This is my favourite go-too restaurant in Calgary. Its a 10/10 for me for the 2x I’ve been here. Contemporary & good quality southern fares. The ambiance of the restaurant was awesome. They were on top of it when it came to cleaning tables & chairs. I got their Icelandic cod with onion rings. The onion rings on the cod is the BEST onion rings I’ve ever had in my entire life. It tasted fresh & buttery. The cod was soft, juicy & buttery too. I was impressed. I came with a friend who is celiac & our server was soOoo lovely. She checked the kitchen for us regarding kitchen set up for celiac folks like her. My celiac friend appreciated the consciousness involved with her needs. There were gluten free options on the menu available for her & they are able to alter some dishes that is able to cater to her gluten allergies. Me and my friend shared the charred shishito peppers w/c was one of their gluten free dishes. Then we had the lemon meringue cup for dessert, w/c was gluten free too. Our server the night of Oct.22,2023 had the sweetest motherly fun vibes. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Went to this place with a friend specifically for gluten free drinks and food they advertised. After pointing to every gf tagged item on the menu and told "no sorry that can't be made gluten free" we paid our bill and left.

Food was very good but the service was horrible. Did not even come close to warranting the automatic 20% tip that was added to our bill. We felt completely ignored by our waiter… it was also frustrating because when I went inside to use the washroom and there was not as a single person dining inside- I’m not sure why the service was so terrible to be honest. Also extremely disappointed by the drinks- they were sooo watered down. Even though they were discounted they literally were just juice in a cup entirely filled with ice. Not one person in our group was even a tiny bit tipsy after like 4 or 5 drinks each. Also our friend specifically requested gluten free buns but was brought regular buns and told that he could take the burgers apart if he wanted to… and then was still charged for the burgers they got wrong. For a real allergy this is something they should take extremely seriously and it’s crazy to me that they didn’t. Would not recommend!!!!!!!!! There are restaurants to either side that are way better.

It was a good experience to be able to find a good gluten free yet light on the pocket pizza. The vegan and cheese goodness was real on the taste buds, and enough for me relish every moment of the bite I took. 4 star because the crust at the corners kind of became a hard biscuit after sometime, but thats understandable with a gluten free dough, overall recommended!
