I am a practicing gastroenterology physician in Richmond. I took my family to this restaurant, explained to the server three times that I have a gluten allergy and placed an order for a gluten free pizza The server appears to have acknowledged and recognized this and reported that she has family members who have a gluten allergy as well. Despite this, she incorrectly placed the order for a pizza for me with a gluten containing crust. Only after I had consumed as substantial amount of this item, did she then return and informed my family members that this was a gluten containing pizza. I asked to speak with the manager. While waiting to speak with the manager, another patron at the restaurant who had overheard the discussion reported to me that a similar situation had happened with him. I explained this to the manager who was completely unfazed. After a brief back-and-forth discussion with the manager, I noted to her that the servers attention to detail was negligent. I asked to speak with the owner. I received no call from the owner. I’m giving this place one out of five stars mainly on the basis of what appears to have been an inadequate response to a negligent server

Most expensive personal size pizza. I def don’t recommend it through a delivery service like I did. The gluten free crust was very flimsy but the taste was good. If I dined in I would pay about $15 for it and be happy. However I would appreciate more cheese. The pic makes it look like it had more but trust me it’s literally the first pizza I’ve had in life with so little cheese. Had high hopes. Were off to an amazing start with gluten free bread! That's not a common option so I was thrilled but that was the peak of the meal. As for the rest of the food..meh. Ordered the the thai lettuce wraps for the app and it wasn't terrible but we wished we skipped it. My parnter and I both ordered risotto, I got the shrimp and scallop while he got the short rib risotto. The rice in mine had no flavor what so ever with the shrimp and scallops cooked to death while the short ribs version was better, it was very one note but edible. While we waited for ages for our server to return we just decided to just share the short rib. When the server finally returned she informed us that his wasn't gluten free even though his dish was also on the gf menu. I wouldn't have ate it if I had known that and if the server would have checked in on us before. She was gone for a long time after the food got dropped off. We left upset and won't be back. Who knows if it was an off night but I can't justify coming here again. Also, the server said since it was our first time here she would let us try the wine before we ordered a bottle of it but never mentioned the sample had a charge. Not a great surprise on the bill after an upsetting experience here.

It has some of the kindest staff members I have met. This is why the 3 exists. If you have severe food allergies, it is not a place for you unless you are there to enjoy bevs. I am not sure why it has been RVAs best as the food is as common as elsewhere BUT as I mentioned before, the folks make you feel like you are wanted and in a time where this is not common, it is appreciated. The salmon is not wild and cut super thick for sashimi. None of this means anything unless it is important to you, so please understand my position. People were smiling, enjoying the food, and atmosphere. For me or people allergic to sesame, gluten, and mushroom, I would recommend Carytown Sushi instead.
