They do have a variety of gluten-free pastries and sweets. The soups are hit or miss. We had the loaded baked potato and it was much spicier than either of us. Expected. Service is fast and very kind. Atmosphere can be a little loud. Just be choosy about where you want to sit if you're eating inside.

I love their window dining room! Great selection of gluten free options. The gluten free burger bun was soft and fluffy and fantastic, and I was surprised to find that the fried leeks they put on the union burger were also gluten free. The kid burger is more like slider size, so if you have a kid who eats more than that be sure to get them an adult sized one. Homemade French fries and the chipotle ketchup were tasty. Saw several gluten free dessert options in their fridge, including HUGE slices of cake. Lots of choices for kids. Went on a Friday around lunchtime and the line was out the door!
Unique cocktails and a vibrant atmosphere make this spot a fun choice, with plenty of options for any dietary needs and outdoor seating.

I'm celiac and I really enjoyed their burger- server mentioned the bacon was cooked on shared grill. Got one of their vegetable side (beets) which was fabulous.

Gluten Free!!! They can make all but 2 dishes gluten free and it’s DELICIOUS! If you are celiac though they use the same griddles. Service was wonderful!

This was like a restaurant/bar straight out of Red Dead Redemption! So cool and such a fun place. We arrived at 4:10pm and were told we could have a drink in the saloon as the dining room didn’t open until 5pm, which we would then be seated immediately. I had a chocolate martini and my husband had a hot apple pie alcoholic drink which tasted great!
At 5pm we were sat in the dining room, and our server was Elizabeth and she was SO nice! 11/10 for service!! Being gluten free, I had the lamb chops and they were divine. The meat was cooked to perfection (I asked for medium) and we couldn’t believe it when Elizabeth carried over a whole platter of desserts for us to visually choose from. Very awesome way of seeing the desserts!
We had a lovely time there, it was a little quiet when we arrived because it was so early on, but it started to fill up as the night continued. Would recommend!

I keep wanting to give this place a chance but I think we’re done. We went a few weeks ago and the wait was long but nothing out of the ordinary. Once seated we placed our order. I ordered the sourdough gin and tonic. I asked to substitute club soda for the tonic. The soda was flat and where I assumed the rhubarb would be somewhat muddled, it was just a few frozen hunks tossed into the glass; not what I would expect for a $14.5 cocktail. Our meals consisted of the butter burger and huevos divorciados, both delicious, but we didn’t receive them until 35 minutes after ordering which was frustrating. At least I had time to try to muddle my frozen rhubarb. Before we got the bill my partner asked if he could try one of the biscuits. He was given a cold biscuit in a box. No butter, no jelly. It was dry. We tried again this weekend per my request since their gluten free menu is probably the best for brunch in town. It was another long wait so we went to the coffee shop next door. I ordered a cappuccino and it took them 35 minutes to make. I am not exaggerating. I then realized they have one machine for the coffee shop as well as the entire establishment so there were waitresses coming in for the brunch orders which put those of us in the coffee shop behind. We were seated after an hour. When given the specials I asked the waitress if the potato leek soup was gluten free and her response was “probably not, it tastes too good to be gluten free” we ordered the omelette and the shakahuska, and I specified gluten free once more. When the meals came, there were baguettes on my plate and my meal was cold. I asked if I could please have gluten free for a third time and she acted surprised. I placed the baguettes on the table and was brought two small pieces of gf toast to mop up my cold breakfast. Staff are very friendly and the options look delicious, but I think we just get really unlucky every time we come.

This is our favorite restaurant not only in Girdwood but in the greater Anchorage area. Very cozy space with great food and drinks. The menu is very celiac-friendly but it doesn’t feel forced.

At first seems like a tourist trap, but at the recommendation of a local, we came here! Food was delicious! They have lovely outdoor eating area with a gorgeous view even on the pub side, and I do recommend either making a reservation or stopping by and telling them what time you’ll be back so that you don’t have to wait. I had the citrus salmon which was cooked perfectly, though the broccoli didn’t need the watery hollandaise, and my boyfriend had the pickled rick, which he really liked. The chowder was just okay, a little too starchy. I have some food allergies including gluten and they were very accommodating for that. Really excellent experience and highly recommend this restaurant!

This restaurant is amazing. The food was delicious, the restaurant very cozy and friendly atmosphere . The jovial and helpful personality of the workers make this place unique! I have allergy to gluten and it was the first time I see a restaurant with so many options in the menu for people with allergies. I highly recommend this restaurant. A little taste of the Caribbean in Alaska!

Did a search for Gluten Free Food near me, and this came up. Skeptical, we walked in and sure enough, they have gluten free buns, and even gluten free, dairy free oreo milkshakes. My wife and kids were thrilled. It was a new place for us to try and we'll be back. The only disappointment was the fact that this location has only on bathroom, and they were out of paper towels when we washed up. I let the employees know, and they promptly fixed the issue.

Stop here if you're looking for espresso with notes and not a chain coffee taste. The espresso maple roll was delicious as was the gluten free rhubarb muffin. Left feeling very satisfied. :)
Perfectly crafted chowder shines here, while a shortage of options might leave some wanting more; the experience overall is quite enjoyable.

The chowder was perfect but the salmon was a little dry. The service was very good and really tried to help with our gluten free requirements. Unfortunately, there weren't a lot of GF options . Otherwise, the whole experience was good.

This is the best food we have eaten in this area, hands down! We were so thankful that you have gluten free items available and you take it seriously as two of us have celiac disease. We were promptly seated and our food came very quickly. Everyone agreed it was the best food, adults and children. My sister said it is the best Turkish coffee she has had since visiting Turkey. The staff is all very attentive, so friendly and warm. Thank you! It is evident that you take pride in your food and culture. It shows!

The only thing that would make this experience better is a plastic tray or paper trays because all we got was paper wrapped Crab legs and a claw opener. I found myself having to do origami to keep my food off the ledge where we were sitting facing the water. There are rumors the King Crab is not from Alaska. I wish that the location of the Crab was disclosed on a white board or something. We avoided king for this reason and the snow and dungunous was good. The unfortunate thing is it was cold enough our butter got thick half way thru our dining and the way we got our food wasn't clear at first. All this being said I enjoyed the food, the soda fountain tasted glorious, the hand washing station was a welcome touch and I loved the secondary location with a calmer smaller vibe. Woman at register was kind and helpful with allergies.
I have celiac and I'd come here again and I felt safe to eat here. The rice quality was excellent and the slaw was spectacular.

I have to eat gluten free and normally get annoyed with eating a salad. I ordered the spinach goat cheese salad and it was seriously delicious. My daughter ordered the Casear with chicken and enjoyed it as well. The rest of the fam had pizza and it was good too. The view is just wow when it isn't cloudy. I enjoyed a cider and their was an impressive selection of beers. Stop by, we almost left because my kids saw a 21 plus sign but that's just for sitting at the bar. It was a great place.
Lots of non-coffee drinks to choose from and lots of seating. Good place to meet up with a party of four or less. Nice selection of baked goods with gluten free options. Very clean and safe during COVID-19..

If you're in Sitka, you absolutely cannot miss dining at Beak Restaurant. This hidden gem, nestled on the lower level of a local radio station, is worth the slight detour. The food is nothing short of extraordinary—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully crafted. I had the pleasure of trying the gooseneck barnacles appetizer for the first time, and it was a delightful and unique experience. For my main course, the blackened lingcod sandwich was perfectly spicy and satisfying. The rockfish tacos, crunchy and gluten-free, were a standout with their incredible taste.
Beak shines not only in its food but also in its inclusivity and friendliness. They offer a range of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, all clearly marked, and proudly support the LGBTQ+ community and Indigenous peoples. The restaurant's welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent food make it a must-visit spot. If you find yourself in Sitka, do yourself a favor and make Beak a priority.
Charming with a cozy vibe, it's perfect for casual hangouts or special occasions, featuring local ingredients and thoughtful touches throughout.

Fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. The food was well executed and delicious. Very good wine list too. Several mocktail options. And vegan, gluten free items for those who have dietary restrictions. Can't wait to go back. Worth the drive from Anchorage.

We went for brunch. It's a very small place. Interesting menu with some tasty sounding options but almost nothing for gluten-free patrons. So I went for the miso-corn soup. It sounded odd but was surprisingly delightful. The service was very good.

Don't waste your money.. Go somewhere else. We stopped in for drinks after driving up from Anchorage for the spa while visiting AK and decided to grab a bite to eat. We used to live up here and had been to Alyeska plenty of times and to the other restaurants for food with amazing experiences. Not really sure how this one was so far off the mark??
Three of our four meals were so bad I wouldn't have expected to have paid more than $5-10 a piece for them. Dry as a BONE. We decided to ask for some marinara for the chicken since it was breaded and came with absolutely nothing else to it, and they charged us for the sides of marinara lol what a joke. Felt like being nickel and dimed over a crappy meal - not what I would have expected from the high-end vibe and $30+ meals??
Decided to try a gluten free pizza with butternut squash puree and goat cheese on it. Sounded really good and unique in theory but turned out to be a flat piece of crust with the tiniest amount of puree on it. As a whole, it was super bland and unflavorful, and again - *extremely* dry and chewy. A $5 budget pizza would have been better than this.
I'm not just a hardass with high expectations. I've worked in the hospitality industry plenty and this was just so bad that I genuinely feel robbed.
Our server was nice and she was great, but even good service on her end couldn't save this.
At no point did we ever see a manager or did anyone check in to ask how our food was. I kept waiting - I didn't want to put the burden on our server so we didn't end up saying anything. Was going to say something to the hostess on our way out so as not to burden our server with it (it was just so bad that someone's got to say something! Otherwise how does anyone improve) - and of course there was no one to be found there either on the way out.
The only good food item that came out was the meat ball appetizer that one of us ordered for his meal. What a complete joke. If you're going to charge upwards of $30 for basic dishes, at least get them decent enough that people don't have a terrible meal.
This was a $45 tab at MOST value wise.. yet we closed out at $120. Such a let down. That's a lot of money for us for splurging and now it's just wasted.
