One of the best meals of our trip. Octopus starter followed by Blue Warehou (fish special)/lamb (all superbly cooked) and orange cake. Coeliac friendly with excellent cocktails and a great selection of wines. Whatâs not to like? 10/10

Excellent coffee. It took a while to arrive and we had finished our breakfast by the time it arrived but it was worth waiting for, for sure. Nice gluten free breakfast.

Dinner was okay. Their pizza sauce is way too sweet for me and I didn't care for it. Glad they had a gluten free crust but it wasn't the best I've had.

This is my absolute favorite spot for group dinners. Every time I come here, I order the karaage mushrooms and cabbage. My guests are usually skeptical as to why I'm ordering vegetables when dining out as opposed to meat. But without fail, they end up loving the mushrooms the most. The cabbage is also light, refreshing, and surprisingly delicious.
This is a great place for sharing, with plenty of dishes to try, and splitting the cost makes it very cheap. The sushi tacos are another highlightâIâve tried three fish-based ones so far, and theyâve all been fantastic. I usually struggle to enjoy raw fish in New Zealand after experiencing better quality in the islands, but Bar Yoku is one of the few places I trust for consistently good seafood.
Iâve never left disappointed. If you visit, definitely request a sunken table. Theyâre super comfortable and turn it into an experience rather than just a meal.
I've come here multiple times with people who have allergies, eg. gluten, nuts, and vegan diet requirements. This has never been an issue, and the food still remains delicious!
A special mention to the staff, tooâevery server Iâve had here knows the menu inside and out, is aware of any changes, and is always professional and friendly. They create a welcoming atmosphere with zero awkwardness or judgment, which, unfortunately, isnât always the case at some places.

Highly recommend this quirky cafe! Lots of gluten free options, great coffee and such an interesting atmosphere lots of little quirks. They also have a car for kids to play in which kept our 3 year old busy while waiting for food. Highly recommend with kids and for allergies.

Amazing staff who accomidated my dad and I for lunch, asked for information got quick response and they even told me where they get their gluten free bread.
I asked for no Onion and garlic and oat milk and was very very impressed with my coffee!
My dad was able to take home the delicious soup which was a lovely feature.
My only downside was the over cooked eggs on my eggs beni but given how busy it was I could understand the extra min going over!! The rest of the beni was beautiful and tasted amazing! Parking was not the best but there was plenty of off street parking which more than makes up for it.
The service food and coffee is well worth the visit and the space is very cool đ thanks team!

Really really tasty food. And you can't beat eating it in a sunny courtyard surrounded by plants and the gentle sound of a fountain (there is an inside too if it's cold). Excellent gluten free savoury and sweet options that are actually fresh, have some originality, and very tasty. (Can't give much info about whether it'd be safe for coeliacs though as I didn't personally need to ask about things like separate tongs / cross contamination in preparation etc. I did notice they thoughtfully had the gluten free items on their own high shelf though.)

What a quirky little place! We're not locals so stopped in on a family recommendation...and what a little treasure! Food was divine (wish I'd taken a photo)...I had the creamy chili'shrooms, no problem for them to do gluten free for me and they were incredible! Next time I'm in CHCH I'll be back for more! Damn good coffee too!

This place offers a touch of class in a unique environment. We had a birthday brunch there recently, it was superb. What was one of the best moments was seeing my daughters face when her gluten free pancake arrived looking just as good as normal food and tasting amazing. There was a lot of choice to meet various dietary requirements and all looked good. we will definitely be back.

We came in on Good Friday and had the set menu with the 5 cocktails. It was amazing! The server we had (didn't catch his name but had very short hair and an accent) was just awesome. So friendly and helpful. Last time I came to Original Sin, I had terrible heartburn and straight away he mixed up a concoction for me behind the bar that cured it. What doesn't this guy do well?!
Your team were also fabulous at being flexible with one of us having coeliac disease. No issues - they made a custom gluten free pizza and also gave a separate platter for the entree - all gluten free.
Thanks again team, we will definitely be back.

Menu said "Ask us about gluten and dairy free options " but when I asked, these were scrambled eggs or open chicken sandwich with cheese and pesto excluded. Presentation was pretty average. Bread with a piece of lettuce, extremely overcooked and burned chicken topped with heaps of mayonnaise. Couldn't get fork in chicken and was so dry and shrivelled, that I gave up trying to eat it. All 8 people at our table ordered same thing and had the same experience with the chicken. Waste of money. Chef needs lessons on how to cook. Enjoyed my almond latte and orange cake. Staff were pleasant enough. Probably better if you don't have a food intolerance but I don't recommend the open chicken sandwich for anybody.

Amazing food and great range of gluten free curries. Best Saagwala curry iâve ever had. The chicken was very succulent. Staff were so smiley and friendly and regulary checked up on us. Butter chicken was scrumptious and creamy, cheesy garlic naan wasnât very cheesy but was still pleasant.
Large open space, well decorated. The music was nice but kept changing genres however that is my partnerâs and iâs only personal critique.

Quirky place that sells second hand stuff and antiques as well as food and coffee. They have a vegan gluten free breakfast option of baked beans, tomato, hash brown, and patty that you can have any time of day. For non-vegans the bagel is really nice.

I needed something without milk products or gluten, so I was pleased to find this at CC, and it tasted fabulous. Great venue, I was pleased to be able to charge my phone, and service was good (albeit initially slow to respond when I was waiting at the counter to order). I was happy to find this establishment given other disappointing options locally.

Verde is the place for good food and the coffee - WoW! My partner ran a coffee shop named verde in Copenhagen 14+ yrs ago and when we saw the name on our route we of course had to take lunch and coffee there. The gluten-free crepe was amazing by the way and DO NOT go by this place without trying their coffee/
Ps bring your coffee mug or buy their portable ones - cause they donât do take away cups ( witch is pretty coolđ)
Thanks verde - weâll be back đŤś

After a very warm evening there is no better place to call in and share a bottle of your favourite wine and a bite to eat. Their gluten free pizza is pretty top notch. They also have 0% alcohol wine which is a bonus too if you are the sober driver. The staff always remember your name if you have been there more than once and always go out of their way to make your time there enjoyable. It's not too loud that you can have a conversation. I'm happy to call this my local of many years. You should try it too.
PS My dog quite enjoys a day time visit too.
