The waitress asked about any allergies already during the reservation and later pointed out exactly what I could safely eat from the menu. My boyfriend & I had a lovely dining experience here recently. Our waitress Hannah was so attentive to our dietary restrictions (Coeliac) and it was clear she genuinely cared. The same goes for the talented chefs in the kitchen, who were super patient and understanding and took the Coeliacs/gluten allergy very seriously. Thank you all for making this such a lovely date night for us! We’ll definitely be back.

Food was amazing! I wish I'd remembered to take some photos. The only let down was service was a little slow- as in getting drinks initially and then the tables weren't cleared at all...but the food came out quickly and I'd go back again simply for the food options! 4 of us are coeliac and there were so many dishes that were either gluten free or could be modified for us 😍

One of my absolute favourite spots for coffee, dinner, lunch, drinks. Good for vegans and gluten free and the most wonderful staff. I adore going in for a chat and they always are so welcoming! The sangria is great to share and the soup and hummus platter have the most amazing flavours and good for sharing!

Came in for a quick lunch. My partner ordered the fish and chips with mushy peas Gluten free and I had the pork tacos, beef brisket lollipops and the chips. Atmosphere was nice and chill. Quiet for a Saturday lunch time but there was a lot going on outside. Service was quick and easy. The server helped my partner who had a bee sting which was much appreciated. Food came out fast and was temperature hot. The chips were the best thick cut pub chips I’ve had in a while. Good amount of salt and perfect amount of aioli. The fish was cooked well and wasn’t dry. The brisket lollipops had great seasoning and flavours were sweet and fragrant. The corn tortillas on the tacos did fall apart more than I’d like but everything else for the taco was delicious. The salsa and mole were delicious with the pork. Haven’t had a bad meal at The Kestrel to date. Thanks team

Thank you for your lovely service. I organised a team dinner for 19 here. From Chloe who I was texting to organise the event, to the staff on the night who were all smiles and patient even when I got confused with the bill at the end (totally me and my bad maths) and the efforts they made on a special vegetarian, non dairy, non gluten roast! Not to mention the beef roast they did for us mid week! And the great mocktails for those not drinking as well as a great selection of alcoholic options. All round made for a very lovely evening and some very full and happy people! Thank you!

Had dinner last night at El Greco and we absolutely loved the experience. From the warm and friendly staff, to the comfortable outdoor seating, to the amazing food, everything was exceptional. We had a quiet dog and this was fine. Flat surfaces, so ok for wheelchairs too. Our fried has celiacs and this also was not a problem. I loved the Italian lagers (it was great to have another option, rather than just Peroni). The 7 ⭐️ Metaxa was similar to a Cognac, full of flavours and a great way to finish the night over dessert. Nice wine selections too. Really enjoyed all the food - souvlaki, squid, pasta. Lots of generous amounts of salad. My only feedback would be to only use vegetables that are in season. Brussel sprouts are not in season now, which means they’re probably cooked from frozen and we found them mushy. Apart from that we loved everything about dining here and would highly recommend it to others. Graci!

We came for a team dinner. There were 7 of us. We highly rated the organic chicken and short rib. They were just delicious. One of our team members is a celiac and had a reaction from the chicken dish. Although she had specified that she was a celiac at the time of ordering, and asked the server delivering her meal to make sure, she was still "glutened". Unsure what went wrong there, but Giraffe may need to assess their processes when handling gluten.

I’m coeliac, so I ordered a gluten free vege burger and fries (which are fried in a separate gluten free fryer). Incredible lunch, could not fault it. The food and service were the highlights for sure but the atmosphere and decor were great too. Every single dish we ordered was delicious, the Pacifica Ceviche was the highlight. The menu sounded really interesting and delicious and it lived up to those expectations. The menu was very clear on what was vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and gluten free. The service from the whole team was great, attentive and informative, especially from our main server Olivia. She was really friendly and professional but still felt like being served by a friend which is exactly what I enjoy about nz hospo. The level of service from each team member was fantastic and I wish them all the best over this crazy season

What a surprising find, only due to a gluten free group. No idea this place existed. Awesome spot and the food was absolutely brilliant. You’d pay twice as much for half the food in the city and not get to look at cute little lambs in the field. The food was 10/10. If you haven’t gone. Go!

I've given a fair amount of 5 star reviews in my time, but THIS is the standout. Wow. Mindblowing flavours. The hummus was so silky - how is that possible? How do they make carrots taste that good? How is the falafel so crispy and perfect? Can't recommend this place enough! Incredible food, and lots of vegetarian and gluten free options. Cocktails were also great, the vibe was fun and the waitstaff were attentive.

Visited Hideaway for a bottomless with the girls for my birthday and absolutely loved it!! The food was amazing and the drinks were top notch! All of us left feeling very full either with drinks (wine, prosseco, cider or mimosas) or food! Very conscious of any dietary requirements and were able to adapt food where need - great for gluten free and vege/vegan! Food was delicious and drinks were plenty strong which made the bottomless all the more worth it! Can’t forget to mention lil buddy Jax who was nothing short of a friendly face to everyone! 10/10 would recommend to friends and come back - even just for a drink on a night out! The location is a bit hidden but still easy to locate and find our way in with plenty of signage on the main road!

Superb vegetarian food and lots of it. My "Chickun" burger was large and delicious with a generous helping of salad on the side. The polenta chips were crispy perfection and my partner described her gluten free pizza as the best she'd ever eaten. Great choice of dishes, excellent, friendly service and we also loved the drinks. We'll be going back... often.

We ate twice at the conservatory. The first time my wife had duck and I had snapper. The second time we shared a late afternoon gluten-free veggie pizza. I had a lager and spritzer and my wife had a virgin Moscow Mule. Everything was great - 10/10. Service was perfect. I am a bit of a lager snob and their draft lager was really fresh without any hoppy taste which is how I like it. Easy recommendation.
