So many great menu options for someone who’s gluten free - I had a hard time choosing. I finally went with the pork enchiladas and I was blown away! They were delicious! Our party also had the Haus Burgermeister and the Fish and Fries and they were equally good. Portion sizes are generous so I was sad I couldn’t fit in dessert :( We wanted to come back the next day but they were closed. Definitely one of the tastiest meals we had in Lake Placid!
Charming spot on Lake Placid's Main Street known for tasty Italian dishes and a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a laid-back meal.

We were not impressed by Luna. We chose the restaurant because of the great reviews, but were really let down. The lunch menu is tiny. I’m gluten free and asked the server what gluten free options they had and he said he wasn’t aware of any. I told him that online it says they have gluten free pasta and he said “okay then that”. The only pasta options are pasta with sauce. No veggies or meat, and it costs $22. We should’ve eaten at home, I could’ve done a better job.
With fresh, made-to-order selections and a large variety of options at reasonable prices, this spot promises a delightful experience every time.

Wow! Great good and service. Large variety. Agnes helped us pick out some jam too. Vegan and Gluten Free knowledgeable and plenty of options. Will be back!
Expect delicious options and a popular vibe, but be prepared for a wait or consider ordering ahead to skip the crowd.

The food here is awesome - so glad they have gluten free bread! But be ready to wait in line, or order ahead online if you don't want to wait in the crowd. There aren't a ton of spots to eat inside if you're planning on that either, but in my opinion the food is worth the wait!
Elegant décor creates a picturesque vibe, perfect for photos, while the attentive service ensures a delightful and memorable experience.

Five stars all the way! From the second we were greeted at the host table, to being sat and our orders taken to the food delivery and attention....just all amazing! I have a gluten and tree nut allergy so I ordered "off menu" and the chef was able to prepare something for my dietary restrictions. My Boyfriend got the Fish which was melt in your mouth perfect and fresh! We had dined the night before in town and it was so disappointing that we decided to "splurge" and treat ourselves to a quality meal at the Mirror Lake Inn. The Inn itself was decorated gorgeous, like out of a Hallmark movie so a lot of nice spots to get selfies or photos. We asked the host to take our photo in front of the Valentine's Day tree and he kindly obliged. We will be back!
Also, PS - the Macaroons at the end of the meal were great and also gluten free which I appreciated!
First, I was gonna give it 2 stars but 3 stars due to the food being good enough to fuel our hunger. The main reason for low rating is the service when we got seated, took awhile for the guy server to greet us, for some reason he couldn’t give us two water glasses including warmer than room temperature water as I saw a 5-top got five clean glasses. The worst part of him serving us is he rushed to pay when I was still eating because he quotes “my shift ended an hour earlier” in my head that’s not my problem and I paid to get him out of my face with a low tip. I didn’t catch the guy’s name but it’s one with short-ish black hair with a foreign accent.
Now onto the food, Gluten Free sandwich was decent due to the bread being overly toasted to be edible including the macaroni salad but the fish was seasoned well. The wings were good quality and will keep you full for the day. Poutine was okay enough to get the poutine craving satisfied. I did enjoy the Kolsch beer the best. Will I come back again? Probably not after service wasn’t that great.
A beautifully designed hotel with a relaxing vibe, great location, and impressive amenities, but some may find the costs a bit steep.

I recently stayed here, and it was an incredible experience! The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure every detail of my stay was perfect. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed, offering a relaxing atmosphere. The hotel's location was ideal, with easy access to local attractions and dining options. I particularly enjoyed the free hot breakfast, which featured a wide variety of fresh and delicious options & accommodated those of us with food allergies like gluten & dairy.
I will say the only negatives is the expensive pricetag to stay here & to eat here. Also, my previous stay (pre-covid) they had a free s'mores station stocked with full unopened hersheys chocolate bars, full sized graham crackers, & large marshmallows, this time, they give what they call "s'mores kit" which consists of a tiny 1 serving bag a graham cracker, 3 or 4 pieces of a bar, & 1 little marshmallow-> just enough for 1 s'more in one bag, for free. It was most unimpressive as was their Ice cream parlor on Fridays & Saturdays which are not free at all. The ice cream parlor seems to cater more towards little children rather than all ages. No banana splits or hot sundaes (they had a sundae option which was cold, & it was only a tiny squirt of hersheys syrup) also, they did not have dairy-free options. For the price you pay to stay, these little things like s'mores & ice cream parlors should be above average in quality & quantity & included in the price. Being nickel & dimed is completely off-putting. Overall, Whiteface Lodge is still a great hotel, and I can't wait to return. Highly recommended still!
Very limited menu, lots of vegan choices, hamburgers, gluten free buns, 2 icecream flavors. I really appreciated it, we went 2 nights in a row and our burgers were delicious. I got it without a bun, my boyfriend got it with a gluten free bun and he said it was "quite good". The burger came with lettuce, onion, and tomato all fresh and yummy, the coleslaw was homemade and amazing, and a delicious pickle. I would give it 5-stars except the menu is so limited. It was so great to do a 12.5 mile hike and then not have to cook.
Another issue was that the staff closed for their "lunch" break around 5:30pm when it was the busiest time, people were all coming off the trail .. seems odd that they would take that time to take a break, when they are only open from 2-8pm ...
This is more of a boomer place, with typical American fare. There's nothing all that adventurous or unique on the menu, but people come here for the view. They do offer gluten free flat bread. Everything is your standard American tourist fare.
Fresh, delicious dishes with generous portions in a clean, welcoming spot that's perfect for a memorable last-night meal.
