Amazing restaurant. Lovely staff that is so helpful. They have gluten free options and are familiar with celiac and helped me pick a safe lunch option. I had a turkey sandwich on gluten free bread and it was delicious!! The next trip I make to New Bern will also include another visit to Savage’s. Can’t recommend this restaurant more highly.

Extremely popular Italian restaurant. I understand the owner has issues with gluten so they are very understanding of our issues. I had a very delicious pasta dish as did my wife. We finished our meal with a homemade gf desert
A hidden gem with a diverse menu, perfect for brunch or a healthy lunch, offering a cozy vibe that's hard to resist.

This place is a hidden gem. I eat gluten free due to.a Celiac diagnosis. I ordered the buffalo chicken panini with GF bread. It was delicious. My husband had the steak sandwich. His was excellent as well. We went back for breakfast and had an açaí bowl and bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. Service, food and atmosphere are all 5 stars!
A much-loved spot with consistently top-notch service and a snug, homey atmosphere, known for its affordability and impeccable cleanliness.

No gluten free options as provided. Terrible wait staff... loud personal conversations, music playing had explicit language for all to hear! Chicken was dryer than our table. The cheese dog was just a sliced burnt hot dog with slices of processed american cheese. No windows! Sad service and food for the price!
Charming spot in a historic building with great atmosphere, accommodating service, and a lively vibe—perfect for memorable gatherings!

Gathered at the charming Chelsea in New Bern, NC, we indulged in a delightful lunch with cousins, who made the scenic drive from Hampstead. Surrounded by laughter and catching up, we savored the gluten-free options, including the renowned shrimp and grits, which undoubtedly stole the show. Our waiter was so helpful in pointing out gf options like Brown Butter Barbecue Chicken (grilled). It was a cherished moment of connection over delicious food in a beautiful setting, creating memories to cherish for years to come.
We got carry out. Wings were OK. The quesaqilla was great, the pizza we ordered for the kids is not we got, supposed to be half pepperoni, it was all. The gluten free pizza is better than Kroger gf pizza. I had to cut it as it was not cut. The staff was friendly and busy. The dining room looked clean and nice. They have a bigger dinning area (picuture) and a smaller one. They had a sign up to be patient as they are understaffed. Good overall. Thanks

This is a very popular Italian restaurant. There is a wide selection of food choices. I am gluten sensitive so gf options are a must. I enjoyed gf pasta and meatballs that were very good. My wife also had the spaghetti and meatballs. Unfortunately, there are no safe bread or desert options.
Step into a charming throwback vibe with a cozy atmosphere, delicious made-from-scratch treats, and inviting spots for work or chats.

What I love about this place? Well, thats easy! EVERYTHING!! Mayte herself is just the sweetest and always makes a point to chat with the customers and every once in a while I get lucky and shes tried something new that she will come out and share with whomever is there. I personally just love the Italian Tea Cookies as I am mostly gluten free (I have splurged and had a couple of deserts that weren't GF and they were amazing too). My friend DEVOURED 4 macaroons in short order yesterday and said they were delicious. The food is all made from scratch by Mayte herself and is a treat for the eyes and my belly! All the coffee drinks I have had were delicious as well.
The other thing that I like about Mayte's is the nice relaxed atmosphere. Its kind of like taking a step back in time. If you want to meet a friend or colleague or just get some work done its the perfect place, lots of little nooks to hang out at and the music isnt blaring like it is in some places.
Enjoy a well-structured menu with plenty of options and reasonable prices that keep diners coming back for more.

My husband and I decide try a new place for lunch today and wow did we pick an awesome place! I was craving crab legs so we gave it a shot. I have celiacs and the menu was very well put together for me to see what I could eat. There were a lot of gluten free options. We got crab legs, Kabasa and potato’s. The prices were not bad either. Our server was Jenna and she was very helpful explaining what was gluten free and safe for me to eat. We will definitely be dining here again!
There is more than meets the eye to those gluten free brownies! DELISH!!! Although a few nibbles go a long way! I will be back for more ❤️❤️❤️ super YUMMY 😋

Research for great coffee places everywhere we go, and in New Bern this is by far the best. Not only was the owner super sweet and shared with us how he got started in his business, the coffee was absolutely delicious and smooth. No bitter taste here. And for you gluten-free people there was also gluten-free options.
A cozy spot with standout pancakes and a welcoming vibe, making every visit feel like a delightful retreat.

The food was great!
I had gluten free pancakes, eggs fried over easy, pork links, hashbrowns and coffee with cream that required no sweetener. Amber was very friendly and fast and a pleasure to interact with!
Worst sub shop going!! Will never go back!! Went to Jersey Mike’s here in New Bern on hiway 70 this afternoon expecting a great hero. My husband saw an advertisement for gluten free and so we stopped. $18 (an extra 3 bucks for the gluten free roll) for the giant size. We took it home and it was absolutely horrible- the roll was so thick and dry that my husband starting choking. I took a bread knife to cut off the nasty crust but still nasty underneath- we couldn’t eat it! went back up as we are only minutes away and I asked for a new hero on a regular roll, I was given half a hero with hardly any meet on it ( couldn’t tell ‘till got back home)- when I asked for my other half I was told it was eaten!! I told him he was about to loose a customer and he shrugged his shoulders!!! Forget this place Jimmy Johns treat you much better and don’t sell horrible tasting rolls to their customers!!
