Steven was so lovely and attentive! One of my first times eating out since being diagnosed coeliac and I am so impressed everything on the menu was clearly labelled!
This place offers fresh, reasonably priced food with a great variety of options, including plenty of delicious gluten-free choices. The drink selection is impressive, with a range of refreshing beverages to complement the meal. The staff are super friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to ensure a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed meal. Whether you're stopping by for a casual bite or a longer gathering, the value for money is outstanding. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food and excellent service! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Loved Bob & Berts. I like that American diner feel. Well priced food, nicely cooked & presented. Easy going vibe. Young & old in there. Great gluten free menu.
We celebrated a birthday here. The staff were friendly, helpful and happy to get into the spirit of our celebration. The food was really good, with plenty of gluten-free options.
Me and my children came here for an evening meal after them squeezing us in last minute. The service exceptional! I have celiac disease so eating out can be traumatic but these guys know their stuff. Most of the food is made gluten free including the things that go in the fryer. The server talked me through the menu, he didn’t just hand me the allergen book. I ate fillet steak… cooked to perfection and Sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Yes the price is a little higher than most places BUT the quality is worth the extra couple of quid. The setting is perfect and unique and there is parking at park and ride a short walk away. This will be my go to place to in Lancaster going forward. thank you x
Great food. I had soup which was home made. Cakes are home made and are amazing. Great gluten-free options. Their gluten-free mocha blondie is my favourite.
WOW! We were absolutely blown away with The Borough. It has the X Factor as do all the staff who go above and beyond and always service with a smile. Massive thanks to Molly the manageress especially.
Couldn’t fault anything.
We had the most beautiful room (15) with a supersize bed, big walk in shower, walk in wardrobe on our own landing and stunning decor. The room is just off the courtyard which is a wonderful area for enjoying a drink in the sunshine and a few steps further to the restaurant.
The restaurant serves delicious food, lots of variety and reasonably priced. I had one of the best ever rib eye steaks. Gluten free, vegan and vegetarian dishes too.
The restaurant has a very romantic feel to it with candles lit for evening meals.
Bar well stocked which includes about 40 gins. Luxurious chesterfields to relax and enjoy your favourite tipple in.
The hotel is centrally located in Dalton Square and just a 4 minute walk to the canalside and a couple of minutes into town. Overnight parking just down the road. Not cheap but you can park outside the hotel from 6pm to 8am for free.
We don't usually go to the same place twice but with this gem we are making an exception. We WILL be back.
I had a very disappointing experience with the gluten-free pizza at this restaurant. The pizza I was served was undercooked and raw in the middle, making it completely inedible. Being hungry, I only managed to eat the wedges, but the raw center was unacceptable. When I raised the issue with the waitress, her response was incredibly dismissive. First, she tried to gaslight me by claiming that "this is how gluten-free pizzas are." As someone with celiac disease who has eaten plenty of gluten-free pizzas, I know the difference between a properly cooked pizza and a raw one. When I reiterated my concern, she made a snarky comment about how other people usually compliment their gluten-free pizza instead of showing any remorse or attempting to resolve the issue.
The poor service didn’t end there. There was no drink menu provided, which made ordering a drink unnecessarily difficult. I ordered a Coke but was served what seemed like a sugar-free version without any clarification—something I don’t enjoy. On top of that, our table by the window was uncomfortably cold, adding to the unpleasant experience.
I had visited this place before, and the gluten-free pizza was fine, which is why I decided to come back. Unfortunately, this time it was a complete letdown. The combination of raw food, rude service, and poor attention to customer comfort left me very disappointed. I won’t be returning anytime soon.
It's been a while since we have been to this establishment. In fact it's been beautifully refitted since our last visit.
The service I found exemplary. Special mention to Karolina, who was very friendly, smiley and knowledgeable.
One of our party was gluten free and she was delighted to have a lovely pizza and a bottle of beer - both gluten free.
The atmosphere was great- even though the dining area was not full, it was still buzzing.
The only small gripe I have is the toilets the upstairs toilets have been closed. The toilets are just at the back of the restaurant. I gather from the men within our party that there toilets are not really adequate for the size of the building.
That said we will definitely go again.
If I could rate with 0 stars, I would - not a Karen and normally give places the benefit of the doubt. I have a medical condition that means I am gluten and lactose intolerant. This means that dominos are normally accommodating - I have travelled most areas of the UK, and ironically its my local dominos that has caused an issue. I normally order a gluten free, lactose free Ham, pineapple, mushroom and bacon pizza. This normally costs me between £9-10 but I know and trust it is safe to eat. This particular branch refuses to serve me and directs me to the app which I have explained multiple times does not accommodate for my dietary requirements. As a result, they have lost a valued customer as they are not willing to make simple adjustments for those living with difficult health conditions. I would specifically inform those with Coeliac disease and Vegans to avoid, as they clearly aren't aware of the requirements or safety measures they should take to ensure customers are able to consume their products without repercussions.
Just booked again having stayed in September: both uni-related trips. Have stayed at two other hotels nearby but the Sun Inn will now be my go-to. Impressed by the room decor and fixtures/fittings. Breakfast was generous, with meat/gluten free not only available but really tasty. The staff were great and the whole experience was value for money. A shame parking isn't as convenient as it could be but not their fault and we made it work. Overall a really positive stay and looking forward to the next one!
A beautiful place to eat healthily, just a minute's walk from the centre of town.
Super tasty food, many veggie and gluten free options. And friendly helpful service too.
Watch the world go by through the window as you devour your plate filled with healthy food!
Nice cafe... I really enjoyed the cake. The food looks appetizing and they do have vegan and gluten-free options. The staff is really friendly and helpful and it's a very dog friendly cafe.

We have stayed and eaten here, off and on, for a few years now. It may not be the cheapest place to do either, but undoubtedly the quality is worth the extra.
This year we have lunched twice during our visit to Lancaster and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food has been delicious. We fully intend to return for another lunch before we leave. The staff have been lovely and the food spot on - interesting and imaginative twists to some dishes, but other standard favourites. Beware the chicken burger: it's huge!
My wife is coeliac, which can be a pain when we dine out, but at the Toll House it is no problem and she feels like a 'normal person' due to the effort made to give her a good choice of menu options that are tasty and available without fuss. Top marks!
If there is any criticism I would say that the wine list is a tad(?) expensive.
A very pleasant place to dine.

I had an amazing time at Seven sins! The cool and quirky interior really sets this place apart—it's got a unique vibe with fun, eclectic decor that makes you feel like you're in a space that's full of personality.
As for the food, everything was spot-on. I had the burger, tacos, and the halloumi, and each dish was a hit.
I also really appreciated the vegetarian and gluten-free options. While they did a great job, I’d love to see even more variety for those with dietary restrictions. Maybe some additional gluten-free or plant-based options would be a nice touch.
Overall, a fantastic spot with great food and an interior that makes it hard to leave! I’ll definitely be back.
Food and beer were awesome. Good variety of options including catering for gluten free. The room was small but of good quality and clean. Breakfast was simple but plentiful - the icing on the cake!
The pub is a short walk from the town centre. Parking outside could be troublesome, but we found a spot about 5 mins walk along the road outside the student accommodation.
Excellent meal tonight for me, my wife and our 7yo daughter. The mussels were particularly good. Robert and his team were very accommodating to our dietary needs ( gluten and dairy intolerence).
Great meal at zizzis last night with friends
Gluten free options are great good knowledgeable information provided
Very enjoyable evening and busy with a good buzzy atmosphere
Really cute little place with great tables and art on the walls. Order a few great small plates with my friend but we're blown away by the courgette dish of all things. The prawns and other bits were fantastic but honestly you need to order the courgette. Lots of gluten free options too including local beer.
We went here for lunch last Saturday on a friend's recommendation and I'm so glad we did. The kids enjoyed the play area and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious too. I am gluten and dairy free and there was lots of choice and even a dessert that came with vegan icecream! I asked about a coffee and they offered oat milk, which I can't have. So they went next door to Booths and got some soya milk! We will definitely be back and would recommend going.
Delish authentic thai food AND reasonably priced. Super friendly and attentive staff. They can accommodate vegans and people on gluten free diet. Highly recommended
Had an 80th birthday meal here last night which I couldn't fault. There were 11 of us, all having something different, I'm lactose and gluten intolerant and they went to great pains to explain which dishes I could and couldn't have, giving me a good choice of options and coming back to check it was OK for flavour once I'd started eating. All the staff serving were courteous and friendly. To round off a fabulous evening when I was leaving they presented me with a bottle of Prosecco as a birthday present!! So, Excellent Food, Excellent Service and Excellent Atmosphere, deserves a 5 start rating for all of them. Thank you Babar Elephant, we will back soon.
Visited today for the first time and won't go again. Slow service just to get a cup of coffee. I've had meals produced faster. The coffee was nice but a bit on the expensive side. We were going to eat there but figured he a coffee took this long maybe we wouldn't bother. Not a great menu anyway. Didn't see any gluten free menus either. Table could have done with a wipe down as it still had marks on from last customer.Such a shame.
The most beautiful gluten free food, definitely recommend. Very helpful staff with excellent service. The chef did excellent with the gluten free options and so so tasty. Cocktails are also a winner. 10/10
What a lovely little Gem we found yesterday.
Great food, good and timely service, staff were so helpful. Gluten free bread was good! This is so hard to find and they did a gluten free, vegan cake- love that fact that allergies were covered and clear.
Staff were so helpful, we will go again when we visit the area again.
Thank you for making my eating out a pleasure instead of the stress which i usually get as i have many foods i cannot eat.
Highly recommended Thai in Lancaster. Ordered a takeaway for myself and my girlfriend who is gluten intolerant. They went above and beyond to ensure that all the food was properly labelled and double checked the ingredients with us. The food was absolutely delicious and we will 100% be ordering again soon!
Lovely atmosphere in here. Enjoyed a gluten free pizza (no reaction for me so far so I assume suitable for coeliacs!). They don't have a separate fryer for chips so opted for a side salad. It was nice! I'd go back next time I visit Lancaster, the folk music spilling out from the other room was enticing.
