blown away by the service and food here I want to give a massive shoutout to Issac who truly went above and beyond during my visit. I have celiac disease and often find dining out stressful, especially when staff don’t understand or make it awkward. But not here—Issac handled everything with total grace and professionalism. When I casually mentioned I had celiac while asking about ingredients, he immediately understood what I meant—no loud questions, no awkward explanations, and definitely no judgment. Instead of brushing it off or making me feel uncomfortable, he double-checked every ingredient and made sure to avoid cross-contamination. He even changed his gloves, got fresh containers from the back, and scooped everything safely—just for my bowl. That level of care is incredibly rare, and honestly, it meant the world to me. The whole team.There is very nice and accommodating And let’s talk about the food— Their poke is consistently fresh, flavorful, and fun. They always have exciting new options, like unique fish selections and tons of house-made sauces, many of which are gluten-free and clearly labeled. The miso soup is delicious, the nigiri is top-notch, and they’ve recently added more sushi and Spam musubi to the menu. This place checks all the boxes: incredible service, outstanding food, safe for gluten-free folks like me, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll absolutely be coming back again and again. Every single time we eat at Chicken and Rice, it’s fantastic. Plus they have a HUGE gluten free menu. And they are honorable about it. Eat here! You won’t be disappointed. I never have been.

My sister and I regularly frequent this Mendocino Farms as it's on my way home from work and they have some really great gluten free options. We always get quick service and have been pretty fortunate to never have a mistake on a pick up order which doesn't happen often these days. Yesterday, when I got home with our food I noticed my gluten free sandwich was definitely the wrong order. Frustrated I called the restaurant ready to take out my "hanger." The manager John happened to answer the call with lots of care and compassion noting the frustration that comes with not only a wrong order, but with not having the option to eat at all since it wasn't gluten free. I feel like a lot of the times I have issues with take out orders in other restaurants as I've been brushed off, but John was willing to make the situation right. When I went to pick-up my new sandwich there had been a manager swap, but even then the manager on duty (I failed to catch his name in the rush) was quick to provide me with my new sandwich and have me on my merry way! Can't recommend them enough.

My rating has nothing to do with their food or service. Their coffee was so good and their Gluten Free pastry breakfast and pastry was delicious!! BUT that being said, the workers don’t know how to handle GF food properly. The worker was grabbing the GF pastry with the same kitchen tongs as he was using the regular bread. I could see the crumbs stuck on it and I mentioned this to the worker. I don’t blame him because he genuinely looked like he had no clue, but I do put that responsibility to management. I very much appreciate it that this place includes Gluten Free food items but it defeats the purpose if you cross contaminate. I understand that there are some things out of your environment given is not a strict GF place, but I would advice to educate your staff on what CAN be done when it comes to handling GF items for the safety of your celiac costumers. Thank you.
