Delicious and cute !
Very nice & attentive service, good and healthy food. Vacation flair.
Was there twice in a row for dinner instead of pizza nearby. After dinner I felt really good and fresh not overeaten. You have to try the gluten free homemade coconut tortillas and get the homemade salsas too đ

They offer a gluten-free menu just to waste your time.
They charge you for the extra bread and half an hour later they tell you that they don't have it, that they can wrap it in lettuce.

Relaxed outdoor seating, delicious menu items (we had Pakora, palak paneer, mushroom matar, butter chicken, chicken kadhai, mango lassi, and watermelon cooler). Everything was fantastic. It was a great meal with exceptionally friendly service. Highly recommend this place.
Final note, they also have the menu marked accordingly for gluten free items (which is most of the menu, or course).

The food tasted good going in, not coming out. I'm Celiac and have a gluten allergy. This place has two ratings on 'Find Me Gluten Free' and seemed safe. I ordered the summer roll and watermelon juice. They gave me a different sauce because they weren't sure if the peanut sauce was gluten free. Well something had gluten in it and I vomited it back up a few hours later. First night in Tamarindo ruined.

Iâm not an Indian food expert but we had a fabulous meal here. Teens enjoyed the butter chicken with buttered naan. I was happy they could accommodate my gluten and dairy free needs. I enjoyed the fish curry made with coconut milk and local fresh fish. They also make a gluten free bread made of chickpeas. They can adjust to any level of spiciness. Service was very attentive and the outdoor atmosphere was cute and comfortable. Tasty, creative cocktails too.

My girlfriend has celiac disease and clearly communicated the need for gluten-free substitutions. Unfortunately, the server laughed and said âitâs not a real allergy,â which is both incorrect and insensitive.
Later your staff brought her the side of potato claiming it was gluten-free. After she had eaten it, he returned to inform us it actually contained gluten. This is extremely dangerous for someone with celiac, and frankly unacceptable.
Additionally, she was the only one at our table who was repeatedly skipped when water and wine were poured. Whether intentional or not, the pattern was noticeable and felt targeted. We hope you take this seriously and use it as an opportunity to train your staff on how to properly handle dietary restrictions and provide respectful service to all guests.

We went to Lolaâs with great anticipation, after having it highly recommended by other travelers. While the setting is absolutely stunning, and I would highly recommend going there for this alone, the service was just OK, and the food was just OK, and the ability to accommodate gluten-free was surprisingly limited.
Most restaurants in Costa Rica we visited were very happy to accommodate gluten-free needs, already had their menus labeled for gluten-free dishes, readily understood how to navigate gluten issues, and were overall very eager to accommodate us. Lolaâs however, seemed more concerned with telling us how gluten-free would make food âbadâ even though we order similar dishes with the same modifications all the time, and how it was difficult for them to accommodate gluten-free needs.
I understand that it can be difficult, but if you do a little training of your kitchen staff and your wait staff and read food labels for your ingredients, itâs really not that hard. Perhaps they have had particularly difficult customers that have made them not want to accommodate gluten-free needs, or perhaps their management or ownership just doesnât care about this.
So, unfortunately, if youâre gluten-free, go to the restaurant across the street, they are very eager and excited to accommodate gluten-free needs and have no problem navigating The challenges associated with this. Their view of the beach is not good there, but their staff are very friendly, and their food is excellent.
Go to Lolaâs for the views, the beach chairs, the drinks (which were awesome!) and if you are not gluten-free, itâs a fine place to eat.
