This was my first time shopping here. What a great experience. I needed a birthday cake last minute so I took a chance and reached out. The customer service was excellent and the gingerbread cake was absolutely delicious - everyone loved it, no-one would have guessed it was vegan and gluten free!!! First time here this afternoon and had a fantastic experience! Staff were so lovely and the food was DELICIOUS! Can't go wrong with a poke bowl, but this was one of the best I've ever had, plus the lime and coconut pudding was an excellent treat afterward. EVERYTHING is gluten free which earns extra points for me and my celiac partner. Next time I'm in Hamilton, will 100% be stopping by! Minus one star for atmosphere because the music, while great, was a little too loud for me who is sensitive to noise.

To prefix, I want to say that the staff at The Burnt Tongue have ALWAYS been great to deal with and accommodating. However, if you are a vegan, dairy free or have any dietary restrictions: AVOID THIS RESTAURANT 🚫 Their system for indicating vegan items is inherently busted. Items are marked with a “VVC” which translates to being vegan and celiac friendly on their little ordering guide. With that said, they have a little asterisk (*) that says to check about daily specials on a dish.. or something along those lines. The signage is confusing as the asterisk doesn’t say “may change what dietary restrictions are accommodated by this dish.” In my scenario, I ordered a soup marked as “VVC”… but there was cheese in the toppings. Whoever thought that putting dairy in a dish SPECIFICALLY NOTED as being vegan shouldn’t be allowed to add items to the menu. Again, the staff were fantastic at getting me a refund and courteous when on the phone. This doesn’t excuse the fact that The Burnt Tongue is negligently and FALSELY advertising dishes as being vegan/dairy free when they are, in fact, not. I should not have to ask if a vegan option is actually vegan.. this is dangerous to people who have severe food allergies and grossly incompetent. I will not be returning until they can make the appropriate changes to the listing process for their menu items. I and advising friends and family to go elsewhere until that change is made, too.

Everything here is 11/10. Definitely get the salmon sushi and then watch yourself want a second one. Fries are a must. The PB espresso martini is painfully good. And they are exceptional at managing celiac/gluten intolerance. Great every time - thank you guys!

One of our favorite restaurants in Hamilton! When we dine in, the staff are always so friendly. We like to get the katsu curry and karaage donburi - both delicious, and gluten-free! Looking forward to trying their sushi soon. 😊

I would give this place a million stars if I could. Incredibly kind and friendly staff. Food was excellent AND so gluten free friendly. Being celiac usually means I have to skip home fries and toast but not here! We had egg, bacon, toast, home fries and the breakfast BLT made gluten free. Highly recommend. If I’m ever back in Hamilton I will be going here!

My Fiancee and I tried this place for the first time, and I have no idea how I didn't know about this place before. Their food is the epitome of comfort food. I had their specialty, the Original Vegan Pizza Pocket, and if you can't already tell by the picture it was the size of my hand stretched out and as heavy as a loaf of gluten-free bread. Absolutely stuffed with cheese and pepperoni, the crust is flaky and absolutely divine. They have some gluten-free things on their menu, including deserts and some tasty salads, but if GF isn't something you need they have an extensive menu for any vegan to be excited about. I'll be dreaming about having this pizza pocket again, I will absolutely go back to get another!

Amazing Indian restaurant serving fresh tasty and healthy Indian food in the city. The owner and staff provide excellent service and the restaurant has many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options on the menu. I highly recommend dining at this gem of a restaurant. pro's. best gluten free pizza base i have ever tasted. best seitan pieces i have ever tasted. cons. the ghost buffalo sauce that accompanied the bucket of seitan pieces has been haunting my digestive system for 9 hours. the next time i order this sauce, and i will because i crave it, i will ask if it can be cut with something to reduce the scoville rating. i hope this is a request that can be accomodated. but congratulations. you win. well played.
