We had a very long wait for service, from waiting for a table (this was fine since it was brunch on a weekend), to waiting for our order to be taken, to having the food served. They seemed to only have one person waiting a full inside area, terrace and street seating so an extra person would make all the difference! Food was okay, not great value but was good too have vegan and gluten free options.

So much flavour!! Omg the flavours the chef got into this food was amazing. Very skilled use of spices and herbs. I am very critical and will not say food is amazing just because it’s vegan. There’s a lot of tasteless vegan food out there. This is NOT that! We had the non-gluten free börek, the Traditional Smoked Eggplant and the Special Turkish Ravioli. The chef is clearly someone who loves good food and flavours and understands how to create that. Please go here. Take your non vegan friends because this is how vegan food should be! Oh, one word of warning; this food is filling! Allow time to eat slowly and really enjoy those flavours! Aargh I want to go back and have breakfast there!

I am not from Ankara but felt like a bit out of the city center but still it was not hard to reach we just walked there from Tunalı Hilmi. Good brunch and gluten-free food. They have gluten-free bread for toast. Vegetarian options and plant-based milk are also available, ideal for vegans. Friendly service, nice atmosphere, and cleanliness are excellent.

** A Very Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Misleading Gluten-Free Options** We specifically chose this restaurant because they advertise gluten-free options, which is essential for my wife due to her gluten allergy. However, what followed was nothing short of a frustrating experience. We ordered a gluten-free pide, but what arrived at our table was a lahmacun. When we questioned the waiter, he casually responded that "since it's gluten-free, it looks like that." This explanation was completely unacceptable—gluten-free or not, a pide and a lahmacun are distinct dishes. After a brief discussion, the waiter changed his stance, insisting that while the dish looked like a lahmacun, its ingredients were those of a pide. Again, a ridiculous claim. Eventually, he admitted that the restaurant does not have a separate oven for gluten-free dishes, meaning they cannot actually prepare gluten-free pide. Yet, they still charge for it as if it were a genuine gluten-free option! If a proper gluten-free dish cannot be prepared, this should be made clear **before** taking orders, instead of misleading customers. To make matters worse, we also ordered a regular lahmacun, and its base was completely burnt—another disappointment in an already frustrating visit. Overall, this experience was unacceptable due to both poor service and the lack of honesty regarding gluten-free offerings. If you value transparency and quality, I cannot recommend this place.

Absolutely absurd cost for gluten free. Went based on the reviews advertising GF bread and was charged 390 lira EXTRA for my breakfast to replace my bread. Never seen prices like that before anywhere in the world. When I questioned it (as I assumed there was a mistake) the waiter insisted that is the cost

I invite all Italians to stop by this restaurant to try both the typical dishes and the decidedly positive situation. I am celiac and I had a great time eating in this place, attentive to the customer's requests when ordering and precise in the delivery of the dishes, repeating several times that the dish was gluten free. I felt very comfortable, I ate peacefully with my family and it was truly exciting. I tried meat dishes, fish and side dishes: special! try it and believe it. pampered and accompanied by the nicest and most friendly waiter I have ever met!

We wanted to try the authentic Ottoman foods and Matbah delivered! Some dishes are unusual - stuffed calamari and stuffed melon. My celiac husband received gluten-free bread and the menu was clearly labeled. Service was very good and we received a gift of a bead pendant at the end of our meal. We had visited Istanbul before and were very surprised that the restaurant was nearly empty by 10pm. The other diners were locals, Spaniards, and Americans.

One of the delicious places to visit in Kadıköy. They even make the pita they put in the Iskender sandwich gluten-free, nice idea. If you ever pass by, I recommend you to stop by.

All food is fresh and prepared at the moment. Everything on the menu is vegan and celiac people like me have glutenfree options (not the buns or pida though!). I had a lovely chat with the owner, who is really passionate about her job. I’ll come back for sure next time I’ll be in Istanbul!

What a fantastic place. The food was delicious. We had the meze plate. I have a gluten free diet and was eating my normal hummus and tzatziki with my own rice cakes and the waiter brought me some delicious gluten free bread. Such excellent service. He even included a complimentary gluten free dessert. I recommend this restaurant. Excellent.

Family brunch. Very cute design and atmosphere. Close to the beach. Delicious deserts. Ordered three cake cups 3x220tl, one coffee 130tl, one lemonade 150 and one tea 130tl. Total 1100tl ($27). Also, they have gluten free options. Cafe is expensive (compare the US or UK).

Great environment being in an old, wine cellar type space - great for dates! Service was extraordinary, we got a bunch of free appetizers on the house for no reason really which was a very nice gesture. Our server was so considerate and nice and they rolled out the carpet for my girlfriend who is celiac and made two portions for every thing we ordered to accommodate her. Cocktails, next level too! The food, there was a lot of good stuff but perhaps I was looking for something a little more punchy. My girlfriend did tell me to give 5 stars for the food, i would settle for a 4.45 (rounded down to 4 :\)

Very expensive for the value. To correct an erroneous review, theyDO NOT have a gluten free menu, but have gf bread. They also will work with you to understand your food restrictions, but the quality and portions were not super great, even though I wanted to like this place. Just a tourist trap, but so it goes being gluten free in the bread capital.

I would highly recommend this restaurant! I am coeliac and spoke to the staff when I arrived. They immediately listed off a number of meals I could eat including Lamb Chops, Salmon and GF Pasta. They also verified this with the kitchen staff to make sure that was still accurate and safe. By the time I was seated my Coeliac had been communicated to the wait staff who bought out GF bread for a starter that was toasted and delicious. Food was magnificent and staff were incredible.

We chose hidden garden as my wife is coeliac. Tables are in a lovely open space ( an oasis!) in rear of restaurant in their hidden garden. All staff were great, lovely setting and truly amazing food !! The manager Polat was very knowledgeable for my wife’s dietary needs. Lots of places to choose from in Istanbul but we would come back here for the food and the experience.

The service here was wonderful with a lot of attention to detail. Very nice, and fast service. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was lovely even on a packed Friday night. The team at the restaurant knew what celiac disease was and the importance of a gluten free menu. When choosing they advised me what I could order as gluten free. They gave me the first gluten free bread and olive and garlic butter in Turkey after 2 weeks so I was very happy. Also they have gluten free beer. I had the mixed shish kebab with fries and salad. It came with rice but I did not eat it as I could definitely see the vermicelli pieces. No GF deserts except fruit. Probably not perfect but I was not glutened so I was happy.

Everything wonderful! Very kind and friendly staff, very hospitable and attentive to every need, they were very helpful even with me who have celiac disease and were able to advise me well on the choice on the gluten free menu! The food was excellent, the waiter recommended a dish with a mix of meat to divide in two and it was delicious, it was typical cuisine but not excessively spicy. We had the rice pudding for dessert, which was also delicious, accompanied by the tea offered by the owner. We got up from the table satisfied and full but not weighed down. The restaurant is located in a very nice street full of restaurants near the blue mosque; everything is very clean, they have tables both inside and outside, it is private and welcoming. We will remember this beautiful dinner in Istanbul. Excellent quality/price. If you are in Istanbul a dinner here is a must!
