Amazing spot! The GF IPA was so good we went to buy some at the liquor store after dinner! My husband and I had the burger and pizza and would never guess they were both GF!
Very knowledgeable staff for allergies. I got the fish tacos and when I asked the waitress about switching the sauce from a dairy one she had an amazing recommendation! The tacos came as a rice bowl for GF and had an allergy notice indicated on my meal. Amazing place!
Atmosphere, staff, and food were all amazing. We are a gluten free family and usually limited menu choices - Not here! There was a wide variety of gluten free items on the menu! We ordered the fish and chips, fish sandwich, braised short rib, cottage pie, and pickled onion rings. All were amazing! The batter for the fried items is always gluten free and items fried in a separate frier.
Wild Willy’s Burgers in York, Maine is a must try whenever you are up in this area. The menu is wonderful comfort food and incredibly fresh. With gluten free options, this restaurant is much more inviting than many other places. From March until early November, this is definitely one of our favorite restaurants every time we come up to York, Maine. Enjoy, Robert.
First time getting food at this establishment.
My sister and I are both gluten intolerant so this review really pertains to such consumers.
Lots and lots of options- we ordered the Mariner plate for lunch. It was take out so we ate at home. The scallops and shrimps were excellent, the fish was really good. Finding tasty gluten free food can be tough.
Our issue was with the French fries. Restaurants that serve gluten free food can sometimes not refresh their oil as often as they would for normal food.
That is our guess- the fries had a strong, unusual odour so we both ate only a couple and we both felt unwell afterwards. I would guess that the oil is rancid- everything else was tasty so please folks, switch your oil over for gluten free food more often.
Thanks
The food was some of the best we have had in a while. The gluten free toast was amazing. Burger was great and cinnamon bun French toast was great! Highly recommend
I recommend getting lunch here. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich on a gluten free bun and it was good. Nothing to write home about, but the food is good and the patio is great.
Delightful little locals spot with fresh fish. Service was a little curt, but get food makes up for it.
Got the salmon reuben and was completely blown over by it. Spectacular. Even better was the crab bisque. Spicy and warm. I need it in my belly!! Best one I had in Bar Harbor.
The haddock tacos my wife got were super meh. Skip unless you need flavorless tacos. But she loved the clam chowder.
Daughter liked her blackened salmon sandwich.
Gluten free options everywhere including a great GF chocolate ginger cookie.
Not accommodating to allergies.
I was looking forward to some delicious diner food, but ended up leaving without ordering because there is nothing on the menu that someone who suffers from both celiac disease and lactose intolerance can eat. When asked about modifying a menu item we were told it was not possible. Waitress suggested ordering a sandwich, only to learn that they were out of gluten free bread.
Leaving two stars instead of one because the waitress was nice and seemed understanding about why we left.
Lovely stop for a hearty breakfast, bring your appetite. The staff are super helpful and friendly. So many delicious choices on the menu. I’m gluten intolerant and they easily answer my questions. It’s always nice as a gf person to have multiple options to choose from. I had the shrimp and grits which was delicious. Heavy on the oils though and to be fair I prefer a red sauce on mine. My husband had the special which was lighter on the oils but a big meal. He loved the fried artichokes. We sat at the bar right away and by the time we left there was a lot of people waiting for tables outside. Coffee was great, fresh & I liked that she asked if we preferred a single or double shot. Over all we’d go again in a heartbeat to this small intimate restaurant
Helen's is a favorite! It's been a while since we were in Machiais. We were very excited to find out that there are lots of gluten free options for my wife!
As always, the service was excellent and the food was great. Be sure to leave room for pie!
Samantha was wonderful, so bubbly and nice! Service was amazing, very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend coming to eat here! Also, great gluten free menu!
Always 5 star food!!!!! We've been multiple times and it still impresses us.
Recently had flux style oysters and I was in awe! I didn't realize how much better a plain raw oyster could get! The Asian salad has an amazing dressing with light heat and high quality sprouts and veggies with a perfect combo of the thin rice pasta (can't remember the exact term used for the kind of pasta)
Steak frites on the wilted green combined with hand cut fries is SO good. I was pleasantly surprised how tasty the greens were. My partner had their rabbit special with house made pasta and he was in love. The cheese cake is so yummy and I love it is a gluten free option. A recent dessert special was tiramisu and cannoli and my partner said it was the best canoli and tiramisu he's ever had!!! We love the berry spritzers altho not a fan of the taste of a paper straw. Would love to have a plastic option or glass.
My only downside to this place is I'm not a fan of their water options. Tap water does not taste good to me and not a fan of the sparkling water option myself. I'd love to see Saratoga water at this place!
Our server, Julia, was incredibly attentive, considerate and accommodating. We asked about some gluten free choices and she checked with the kitchen before placing the order. All four of us enjoyed our meals. It was a lovely night in the outside terrace seating area, which is surrounded by landscapes and is not directly on the street. It's quiet and relaxing on the terrace.
I had the Halibut which was served over lobster risotto and green beans topped by a bit of Beurre blanc, a buttery sauce. Halibut being my favorite fish. It was perfectly cooked, not overdone. Halibut is a fish that is overcooked in many places in my opinion. Perfectly white and flaky. Well plated. I didn't find any lobster in the risotto, if you want real lobster risotto, Josie's in Ellsworth is the place to go. There you get 2 or 3 ounces of real lobster meat blended with the risotto. It can be a meal in itself at Josie's
We loved this place! Steaks were excellent, service attentive, and the restaurant was beautiful with wide plank wood floors and rugs under each table, very cozy. My husband has celiac and they have a gluten free fryer, which was exciting! Would definitely return.
As always, Fore Street does not disappoint. The food, atmosphere and service were spectacular. Our server made navigating my gluten sensitivity seamless by going through each menu item with me at the start. Not to miss when visiting Portland!
If I had the means to hand out Michelin stars, Twelve would get 3. My entire experience was nothing short of absolutely phenomenal. Our waiter, Andrew, was extremely and entirely knowledgeable. He was also insanely helpful with guiding me towards the gluten free options of the menu. Always had a smile and was very welcoming and attentive to us as well. The food was like nothing I have ever tasted before. Each course was full of flavor and came out beautifully with a brief description of what was in front of you. The mussels were to die for, along with the steak. I can confidently say that this was the best meal I have ever had in my life and although I live 4.5 hours away, I would drive the 9 hour round trip to eat at Twelve any given day. Thank you to the wonderful staff and the chefs for making this not one of, but THE best dining experience of my life.
I went here with my parents after a day in Augusta and it was worth the excursion! My mom is gluten intolerant, so I was looking for good places for her and this came up. We took a chance and it was fantastic! It was so exciting for my mom to find a place so accessible (and delicious) for her dietary needs. Everything is 10/10. Heading back in a few days!
Great experience, especially if you are gluten free! The menu was marked and there were a variety of options! The lobster taco special on corn tortillas was amazing - and our server Jesse was fabulous!
We are out-of-towners (Floridians) with a love for good local restaurants. Found Le Mu on Google based on its reviews and it was totally worth the wait to get in. It did not disappoint. Portions are great and the flavors are delicious! Staff is sweet, friendly, and fast. Plenty of gluten free and vegan options which were perfect for my family of 5 diverse eaters!
The owners of this delightful Mom&Pop restaurant serve good food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is calming and cozy. The food is delicious and prepared with care. I especially love their gluten-free waffles with blueberries. It's my favorite breakfast restaurant in all of L/A!!
best brunch i’ve had in a while. full house but we managed to squeeze in a table for two upstairs by a window. cute, cozy atmosphere tied together by hand-painted table tops. mimosas were delicious, especially pear cranberry which i’ve never encountered before. “brunch bread” was the perfect start to the meal—we got a cheddar biscuit and cinnamon brown sugar gluten-free bread, both very yummy. for entrees, we shared french toast and steak eggs benedict. would order both again in an instant. service was warm and friendly to boot. will be returning, hungry for more!!
I am so happy to have this delightful deli here in my town.
The sandwiches are bountiful and creative. Being Celiac, I was happy to see gluten free options.
Ever since seeing the movie Chef, I wanted to try a chocolate lava cake but of course where would you find a gluten-free chocolate lava cake? Well look no further than Kelly’s landing and wow was it an amazing finish to a delightful meal. I had a broiled haddock with some of the most delicious beats. I’ve had in a really long time. The service was so friendly and warm and inviting. There were lots of gluten-free options on the menu and the restaurant sits on Moosehead Lake. You can drive to it or you can pull your boat up and tie onto the dock and walk straight in The setting is spectacular. You might see Maganser’s or mallards or maybe even some loons. We were there when it was a little bit cold for a moose to go swimming by, but you never know if you’re there in the heat of the summer you just might see one swimming up for a side salad.
My Husband and I went here this past Wkend. It had been several months to a year since we been here.. Our Waitress ( WILLOW) was very very nice to us and conversational.. She did everything she could to make sure our needs was met, our food was hot and the way we ordered it and the overall evening was good.. She was soft spoken and had a big smile every time she treated us.. I have significantly strict dietary needs being I'm Diabetic Gluten Free and such.. Her patience was especially wonderful and she answered all my questions and made sure I didn't get exposed.. I wish this restaurant and other restaurants had more like her
Best food, service and atmosphere of any chain restaurant ever!! Having Celiac disease requires me to be very selective about where/if I go out to eat. The staff are excellent ensuring a safe meal.♥️💯
We were looking for place for a quick bite with good food after a long day of hiking in the park and Island Take Out hit the spot! All of the food was fresh and delicious! Also I have a gluten allergy and there are gf options and accommodations there. I had a jerk chicken sandwich (on a gf bun) and it was incredible! I am a medium spicy person and this hit the threshold with maintaining great flavor. My guest has the jerk macaroni and cheese and they though it was delicious! Looked like just the right amount of creamy and good flavor. For any one looking for good food, I highly recommend!
I have breakfast here every Wednesday morning and my wife and I dine in or do take out for lunch at least a couple times a month.
The food is really good. It would be nice if there were more lunch options since we eat there quite often and maybe some meals (besides salad) that were gluten-free since my wife has a gluten allergy.
The staff is what really makes this place special. They are amazing! They are constantly on the move, taking care of the customers, so nobody is left waiting longer than they should. Obviously there are times when they are super busy that you may have to wait a bit but you can clearly see that they are trying their hardest to reduce the wait time and take care of everyone.
Prices are very reasonable I think.
It’s not very often I leave a review, but I have been sick since after having breakfast yesterday on Father’s Day. I mentioned to the waitress I would like to have gluten free, she said they had GF bread. When my toast came out I questioned the waitress and asked again if it was gluten free, she said yes she was sure it was. Well I’ve been very sick since after eating there, and the hellish stomach pains all night. This is so awful I had to spend most of my day in the bathroom at work. I’ve been to front and main a few times and each time the food has declined, but to this point is just absolutely horrible!!! I will suffer for who knows how long as I haven’t been able to eat gluten for 15 years, this is the first time I can say a restaurant screwed up badly.
This place is very unassuming, you might just drive right by without knowing you missed out on a great meal! They also have amazing gluten-free desserts. I had the best doughnut of my life here! Everything is homemade and super delicious.
Good food, good service, good fun! And they have gluten-free buns! My favorite app is the seaweed. The actual pickled wrinkles have been out when we go... but I think I'm ok with that.
Such a great experience! Food was top Notch.. great Gluten Free options. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating! I would highly recommend it!!
I was sadly disappointed with this restaurant. Service was ok, our waitress definitely had too many tables so we couldn’t order anything else but that is to no fault of her. The biggest issue here was the fried food. I ordered a chicken sandwich (gluten free) which I was very excited for since few to no restaurants in the area serve GF fried food. The breading was black, and tasted like straight burnt oil. I tried my best on the sandwich but it left a nasty taste in my mouth and was absolutely not worth it. Please change your frying oil more frequently 😭
Cute restaurant. Love the house dog. Very well trained. My order was placed wrong but easily fixed. It was spectacular. I had the gluten-free veggie Flatbread pizza. My husband had the taco wrap which he loved as well. Portion wise the servings are big (enough for two or to take some home). Very nice place if you are looking for something more on the healthy side (which is harder to find now).
Highly recommend if you are near this location. Sad to see the "for sale" sign on it. Hope more people visit so that they can stay open.
