Tldr: Some of the friendliest staff ive ever met, amazing gluten free options, one of the most beautiful atmospheres, 10/10!
I dont usually eat alone at restaurants so was a bit nervous but every member of staff who spoke to me was so kind and so thoughtful and made my experience so nice. Gluten free menu had a lot of options but i went for the butchers brunch i think it was called?? absolutely AMAZING. There is a lot of space for sitting so it doesnt feel super cramped and absolutely gorgeous interior. i had such a lovely time and will definitely be returning! cant recommend enough :]]
I did also go in around 1pm and it was fairly quiet, so i imagine if you go later in the day itd be busier so if you want to go when its quiet id suggest 1pm or earlier!!
First time in the New Porto Lounge. Really impressed. Good food, excellent provision for gluten free, lots of space and very relaxing. Thank you so much.
I’m not a bad review type person, but I think it’s necessary. I’ve seen a lot of reviews on here about how nice and lovely the food was and I feel like they’re either being super generous, or they’re a bit delusional and probably have very disposable income. The few I’ve seen regarding the price for what is given in my opinion are most honest. I bought a “Buddha bowl” which I asked for a poached egg with (for an extra £1.25), came to just under £15, to which when it came was practically an empty plate, full of Tescos finest hummus… mmm yaaay!
literally, just a whole bottom layer of pure hummous.. from probably Tesco, (you can tell) with “roasted aubergine & squash” sprinkled on the top, giving the illusion there’s something to dive into. No, it’s definitely just hummus… just Tesco bought hummous. A whole yummy bowl of it, To Then be given ONE SLICE of (coop’s fossilised gluten free bread) CUT INTO THREE FINGER slices. WHAT? Absolute piss take. “Buddha bowl” you know,imagine?.. If Buddha ate that, he’d be Ghandi.
But wait, There’s more..
When I asked for just a little more bread to go with my mousse, I was told it would cost an extra £2.15 .. oh nice. If I wanted another rationed dry toasted finger slice of gluten free co cop branded crackers, I should pay for it. Sweet. Gotcha..
Maybe I should’ve got another egg, it’s cheaper.
Then in all the madness, besides my 3 thin slices of flavourless avocado, was the juicy “red cabbage salad” about literally 7 shreds (I’m not exaggerating at all), of cabbage and a chunk of core. Right there, I saw it, with my eyes, not even hiding. Just outrageous. What do they do measure it in milligrams?
I told the girls behind the counter and we agreed on the audacity, however no refund was offered. I guess I’d gone too far to ask for money back once I dived into the lake of deception. Assuming I was getting a mouthful of aubergine. She noted my complaint, reasoned & said she’d mention it to the head chef, who I think should rather consider converting to a shakes and smoothies lounge, because thankfully the smoothie was one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
Service for me was decent, nice girls, accommodating energy and the sofa was comfy.. but food prices/quality deserves a slap.
Impero Lounge is right on the High Street in the heart of Portishead, perfect to stop in before a jaunt around the harbour. They’re on a corner with huge floor-to-ceiling windows (that open right up) wrapped around two sides, flooding the vaulted interiors with light. There’s a lovely terrace out the front too, perfect for watching the world go by.
They’ve a fantastic range of food and drinks (including full kids, gluten-free and vegan menus) served in this relaxed, welcoming space. Look out for their mural celebrating Portishead’s old power station and lighthouse. Which is apt, as they’re a bit of a powerhouse and a shining beacon for the hungry and thirsty people of Portishead.
Went for brunch. Nice food and gluten free options. Friendly staff and great service. Asked for water and was provided it within a minute, which is the first time this has happened in a long time, I normally have to ask again in restaurants. Good breakfast offer. We'll certainly be going back. Lovely outside seating area.
Brilliant independent cafe/bar! Great selection of food and drink and can cater for most allergies. They had a great selection of Gluten-free food and cakes!
There is a baby changing room in the ladies bathroom, in the end cubicle (FYI)
Dog friendly and good atmosphere. Well worth a visit! Can recommend booking if you can to guarantee a space!
Brownie points to my date, who picked this place for a pre-movie supper. Warm and friendly service from Flo and the team, all of whom are super knowledgeable about the menu, which is changed daily. Imaginative and beautifully created dishes with an exceptional selection for vegetarian and gluten-free (I’m both). Cosy and intimate. Fancy expanding to Cheltenham?!
A great Sunday roast! I have coeliac disease so eating out can be a challenge sometimes. However, not here. As soon as we walked in and explained I was coeliac the person that met us went straight into the kitchen to find out what I could/couldn't have. Then went our waitress took our order she explained that her brother had coeliac disease which was so reassuring and she also explained that the kitchen staff were cleaning everything down. Brilliant service, thank you! The food was lovely, would absolutely recommend

Have always wanted to visit this restaurant and it did not disappoint!! The food was absolutely delicious, I had a lamb mint sausage with mash and a side if carrots and parsnips and omg I could eat that again and again! The dessert was delicious too (we had a gluten free cheesecake) HIGHLY recommend!
I've been going to this place for years mainly for lunch, but recently went for Sunday Breakfast, all five of us had Different dishes and everything was great, you'd be hard pressed to find a better quality Full English and for my Son who's Gluten intolerant they concocted and amazing roast Pork with corn Bread and lots of tasty trimmings, good service, really friendly Staff and big enough to easily accommodate a party of six...... Coffees decent too......
My partner and I came to Pasture to celebrate his birthday and it was our first time eating here. Honestly, it was such a brilliant experience! The staff are so attentive, kind and knowledgable; I think our server was called Sam (apologies if I got that wrong) and he spent time talking us through the menu, portion sizes and took extra care with my order as I am Coeliac, even double checking the ingredients of different sauces with the kitchen so I knew for certain what I could and couldn’t eat. I was even given a separate menu with all the dishes I could eat due to my dietary restrictions, which made the ordering process so simple and stress free. The food was absolutely delicious and the tenderstem broccoli alongside the steak fillet to share was a real highlight. A great selection of craft beers on guest and draught too. Thank you for making my partner’s evening so special by bringing out a surprise birthday ice cream with a candle! We will definitely be spending more special occasions at Pasture in the future.
Surely the last place in the world not to offer gluten free pizza. The portion sizes are tiny, my friends 'steak' was a few small slices that you couldn't have made a sandwich with. Spanish tortilla was very bland and a really small few slices for the money. Will not return, all our large party were stunned by the appalling value for money.
I was looking for somewhere nice to have a gluten free lunch on my own whilst I was visiting Bristol for the day. I discovered Kibou on a blog and wow - great experience. I haven't had deep fried chicken in years years due to my gf diet - I had some as a starter with siracha mayo and it was absolutely delicious! I followed that up with a chicken teriyaki. The service was great - friendly, down to earth and unpretentious, whilst sat in surroundings that felt upmarket. Would recommend.
I have visited Harbour House 5 times in the last few months which says all you need to know. The food is delicious - I particularly loved the tuna nicoise over summer, and now the surf and turf is beautiful. I am coeliac and the gluten free options are delicious, and this has been handled professionally and with absolutely no issues.
It is a lovely venue both inside and on the terrace. The thing that has really stood out is the service - the waiting staff are awesome, friendly and attentive. I recommended it to my colleague and we are now coming to Harbour House for our work Christmas party as well!
We had been told that there was quite an atmosphere, aside from the fact that it has a certain name, the place is ideal for a beer and also for eating. There is quite a variety of beer, even gluten-free
I normally have a great experience here, and the staff are always really friendly. But this evening, unfortunately, I didn't. Tonight my gluten free pizza was cooked for too long, so it was quite cardboard-like and the eton mess for dessert tasted, well, weird! It almost tasted like someone had added perfume to it?!
I have to say though, staff were great and took the feedback with civility. They were very good!
We normally go to eat before a show in the wardrobe theatre, and I'm sure we will again, we may just think for a minute before we do.

Asked about allergens before we waited 20 minutes outside for a table with my heavily pregnant partner. They assured us they could cater for both gluten and sulphite allergies.
After a long wait we sat down ordered two drinks. Pregnant partner ordered an alcohol free beer and staff instead served her an alcoholic one which is completely unacceptable.
When we came to order, they then informed us that nothing on the menu was suitable for a sulphite allergy and we couldn’t actually eat there at all!
So we waited nearly 40 minutes in total to be told we couldn’t eat at this restaurant. So we needed to go somewhere else to eat. My pregnant partner was already hungry before we waited 40 minutes to be served.
Then to make matters worse, the guy serving us (who claimed to be the manager/owner) and was extremely unprofessional. Told us essentially tough luck and here is the bill for the drinks… we wouldn’t have waited 40 minutes and sat down at all if your staff didn’t tell us it was ok for our allergies. You should be hugely ashamed for your service today. We won’t be returning. Allergens should be at the forefront of your business followed by decency and customer service. Today none of these things happened.
Because your response has purposefully tried to manipulate the narrative of our visit, I would like to clarify; The only bad behaviour came from the manager, he was extremely rude and abusive in how he spoke to us and the language he used. And clearly this restaurant instead of taking this feedback seriously has tried to deflect the narrative instead of taking responsibility for the failings detailed.
This is not a safe place to eat if you have any allergens.
Meal was a bit overcooked. Service great. We were a group and had reserved beforehand seats and meal. We had a private room upstairs. They managed with my diet gluten free and dairy free but just removed part that had it without making a replacement to not miss out of the roaster experience. Nice area.
Excellent service from staff very friendly plenty of gluten free food and very tasty would definitely recommend cocktails are lush to we had sex on beach very fruity and refreshing
My husband is coeliac and we really struggle to find safe places for him to eat and drink. The majority of beers here are gluten free, the menu is clearly marked for allergens and there is plenty of gluten free food to choose from. The staff were really knowledgeable about cross contamination and my husband enjoyed his food and drink feeling like he was being well cared for. Can't recommend enough if you have a requirement for gluten free, and if like me you aren't gluten free, try the rarebit dirty fries, they were out of this world!
Fantastic place, beer is delicious and pizzas are tasty. Gluten free options available for both beer and food. Great music too. The tour was very informative and lots of beer to try! Will definitely be back next time we're in Bristol.
This place is great and often overlooked as a place to eat. They do amazing nachos which are Gluten free, you can normally find a table. The bar is busy but well worth-staffed who are always pleasant and fast. The beer selection is excellent. Goram Zero on tap is exceptional. I had the pork belly and beans. Top notch. Always a great crowd. Arty. Good people watching. Toilets unisex and funky.
We were day visitors from Devon having supper before returning home. Very popular and busy place. Not a happy experience as we ordered a gluten free just egg and chips, but the regular menu ham egg and chips arrived. The meat was taken off and we were assured that the meal was gluten free. There must have been some cross contamination or fryer used to cook things other than only chips as my wife suffered with gluten intollerence all night.
After my fish & chips, I also became unwell and was violently sick in the early hours too.
Fortunately we have both recovered.
Trust we were the only 'unfortunates' on Thursday night.
We visited the coppa club for dinner. The atmosphere and venue is fantastic, beautiful plants, interesting artwork with comfortable chilled seating and typical restaurant seating.
My partner is gluten free and was given her own completely GF menu and tge waiter was very accommodating and knowledgeable.
The cocktails and wine list were great.
We had:
Starters
Antipasti (GF)
Buttermilk fried chicken
Croquettes
Mains
Carbonara
Carbonara (GF)
Desserts
X2 Crème brûlée
We had a great night and would definitely recommend it and revisit.

We came here for our 1st wedding anniversary celebration. We booked well in advance and asked for a nice table for the special occasion, unfortunately this did not happen. We were on a rubbish table right next to the toilet, which was a shame. There were some lovely tables in the restaurant with nice views, romantic booths etc, however I do not believe the staff read our comment on booking and did not ensure we received a special table, which was disappointing. I wouldn’t come here again for a really special occasion, but would happily come for general dinner, or with friends etc.
Food was really good and tasty, especially the salad which came with the shish (although it is slightly overpriced), food came out quickly. Staff were great and were also very good with allergies, gluten/dairy etc.
The decoration was lovely and overall we had a nice time.
Have wanted to try this place every time I drive past it and we weren’t disappointed. Able to sit outside as it was a nice warm evening. Tried two of their craft beers and they were great. Both went for pizza, and one has to be gluten free. Normally gluten free pizza especially from the supermarket are always rubbish compared to normal pizza but this one was amazing and probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Staff were really friendly, would recommend to anyone
Great service, all too keen to accommodate a gluten free diet. They didn’t have any bread in stock, so someone left to go get some for my breakfast, which was greatly appreciated. The staff were so happy, and went the extra mile in contacting me when I’d left something behind. Great experience!

One of the best roast we have eaten. To bad i forgot to take a picture before everything was eater. They even accommodated gluten free option with Yorkshire. Thats the extra mile. Will come again and bring friends. Lovely pub
My experience on the Grainbarge was so, all encompassing, I didn’t have time whilst there, to realise just what a magnificent time I was enabled to have. Happily I wandered off. Many thanks to the crew, Danny, Paris, John, the one they call Macca? Plus the kitchen crew, Vinny and Ted too. The bar manager did a fine job also. Gluten free food and drinks galore! Happy New Year
