Amazing food and vibes, lots of vegan and gluten free options and you can't even tell which is unheard of. Coffee slaps too, highly recommend for all lunch and brunch dates

This place was awesome! The service was great! Very friendly and quick even though it was super busy. The boss had put enough people on - good work. Lots of gluten-free desert. Will be back!!!! This is a must go. 🙌
Terrible allergy care! This has happened both times I've gone. I have a dairy allergy and have coeliac. I've asked for a soy latte and they then not only used almond milk but then also used unclean jugs meant for full cream milk(terrible health safety practices) which means anyone with a nut or dairy allergy could no longer drink it. My worry now is if they had used the oat milk it wouldn'tv'e been coeliac friendly. Coffee tasted nice but made me extremely sick. Please do better.
All of the bakery treats are delicious here! Few gluten free options too which is awesome. Absolutely recommend sitting outside for morning tea/afternoon tea on a sunny day.
Went here for a casual lunch with the work mates. The pizza was excellent and there is a wide variety of different meal options. If you need it there are even gluten free options for those so inclined. The beer is really good and they have some local craft beer options. Ordering is easy and the service is quick and efficient. Food was all brought out to our table outside without too much of a wait. I would go back there for sure.
Our families had dinner at Highroad following our wedding celebration and it was lovely! The food and service was great; and we have to make special mention of the chef who very kindly accommodated the multiple dietary requirements (Coeliac, Pescatarian and Allium allergies). We had previously been to Highroad for brunch and coffee which was as always great, but their dinner service is definitely one to check out!
Thank you again!
This cute place serves up instaworthy but also delicious food! Their deserts are spectacular visually and by taste. There are lots of sweet and savoury options for kids and adults alike and servings were generous. There are also gluten free, vegetarian and healthy options. We had the pumpkin soup, the Moroccan salad with lamb and the cheeseburger. All were delish! And the coffee is good to round up the meal.
Street parking is everywhere. Place is easily accessible being on the ground floor and in the corner. There are 2 unisex toilets on the premise.

I love love sweet bones! The cafe itself is so cozy and I love that as a vegan I can eat anything. I also had my wedding cake made here and as it was gluten free and vegan, everyone at the reception was able to eat it. It was such a hit, so beautiful and yummy. So easy to organise it too!
We were really disappointed. We drove 20 minutes from our hotel to have breakfast at Local Press, a place we’ve enjoyed in the past while visiting Canberra. It seems like the cafe might be under new management. The menu has changed, even though the website still displays the old one (there are no gluten-free pancakes anymore!). While I’m sure the new owners are nice, the experience is not the same, and the food is definitely not of the same quality. My salmon nori eggs benny had about one flake of nori...
Please update your website!
Beautiful fresh menu, staff caters for coeliac. Fries are super moreish. Lush atmosphere and sound design. They have foam pads under the tables to absorb the echos!
Found this place through a google serch for gluten free, my mother and sister in law are both celiac. This cafe is one of the best that Ive been to in Canberra, none of the food is the standard 'gluten free' that you get elsewhere, the care and attention that has been put into developing the menu to be so good is amazing. The whole menu is just tasty, well flavoured and well proportioned.
Would recommend this cafe to anyone regardless of dietary requirements base solely on how good it all tasted.
The coffee was really good and the ambience was perfect.
Cannot wait to come back again!
I have taken away from the Gungahlin location on two separate occasions. Both times the counter service was efficient and friendly.
My pizza orders were correct and hot. The toppings are generous and delicious. They have a gluten free option and the gluten free order was very identifiable with a big sticker.
Our last two experiences here have been subpar. The first, we ordered, amongst other things, a GF burger. Having been coeliac for a while we’re well versed in ordering “gluten free for a coeliac.” The bun we received was their standard brioche bun. My husband called as he had placed and collected the order. They insisted they had used a GF bun, even checking with the chef who also confirmed he’d read it was for a coeliac and used a GF bun. My husband returned the burger to the store. When they saw it, they apologised and quickly remade it with a GF bun. That in itself is a very disappointing and concerning experience with a store who claims to be “coeliac aware.”
The second experience, part of our order was a chips and gravy. After realising something was hard/inedible, I removed it from my mouth only to discover it was a piece of hard plastic. My husband contacted the store again and they asked for photos before confirming there had been an issue/mishap. Kim then texted my husband, very apologetic, and offered to supply us with our entire order again for free. We acknowledged that was a generous offer to try and rectify the problem, however given our last two experiences we didn’t want to eat there again, so we declined. Kim then asked what could be done to make it right in our opinion and we asked to be reimbursed for just the contaminated chips and gravy. Kim never replied. My husband texted to follow up and again, no response. We did not think this was an unreasonable request, given we didn’t ask for the whole meal to be reimbursed, just the chips, but I guess they only want to make it right if it’s on their terms.
I travel to Canberra for work on a regular basis and although I don’t stay in the area, I detour deliberately to have breakfast here.
The staff are lovely and the customer service is exceptional! Great coffee and great food. I have never been disappointed.
Bonus points for loads of gluten free options in the cabinet and accomodating lots of menu items to be gluten free. When ordering GF, the staff always ask if I’m coeliac which adds an additional layer of attentiveness and service.
If you’re in Tuggeranong (or even if you’re not) do yourself a favour and stop in!
Wonderful choice of meals with gluten free options available for most things. Hosts are lovely and friendly and very welcoming. Will definitely be back.
Wow I’ve just arrived in Kingston and wanted to check out eating places being gluten free and all. Wow a friendly welcome followed by attentive, informative and kind service. The chef attentive to my gluten free needs and so many options. I had a hash meal which had gluten in the chilli sauce but half the menu was gf. Then there was a choice of gf desserts and freshly baked cakes- brownie, muffin packed full of fruit and the best gf carrot cake I’ve eaten. All washed down with a delicious turmeric latte. I will be back x
I met a colleague for Brekkie and it was a great option near the hotel. The gluten free toast was yummy, I even asked where it was from to get some more.
Quick service, friendly staff, delicious food, good gluten free options and a very nice atmosphere; a truly wonderful place to come for a quick brunch on thevweekend
Coffee served cold ( long black- never had it served cold before) only one option of cake Choc brownie) for my celiac friend. Parking limited,.had better experience previously but won't be back.
I stayed at The Avenue and Marble & Grain is part of this hotel.
I came down to order breakfast and found out they have an extremely well stocked breakfast buffet and it IS WORTH EVERY CENT. This is my first time to see a breakfast buffet with EVERYTHING you could want for breakfast!
The hotel has a green incentive where you get a $10 voucher for the restaurant if you forgo the daily clean, which is absolutely fantastic! It's a huge saving.
I also want to thank the wait staff Kim who was kind and knowledgeable about the menu, to accommodate for food allergies. Yes! They do have some glutenfree options which were delicious
I highly recommend this restaurant and I'll give a separate review for lunch and dinner
Enjoy 👼🏽🕊💝🙏🏽
The food was amazing! We went for the Valentines day set dinner and they catered for my dairy and gluten allergy. The meat was a shared plate with plenty of food for everyone. So tasty!

This restaurant is always on my list when I visit Canberra. The food is AMAZING, gluten free options, and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The semifreddo dessert is 🤤🤤🤤 I don't even know what it's made from but its so good. And if you're a rib fan you'll definitely love this place. I just wish they had cocktails 🥲 meals are decently priced too, we just ordered extra + dessert 😆

What a gem. My first experience at the Boathouse was all positive. The venue is delightful with great views of the lake, friendly and efficient staff and extremely tasty food. As an added bonus, the venue caters for a good range of coeliac friendly menu choices. Whilst I attended the venue for a work function, I will gladly return privately, safe in the knowledge that the Boathouse delivers on atmosphere, quality and views.
After having a not so great experience, we appreciate the cafe taking the time to hear us and listen to our concerns
No one came over to greet us etc, had to walk in because we weren't even sure if they did table service. They finally took our order, never checked on us, refilled water etc. We paid and they charged us for a dish we didn't eat. We had to call and get a refund and they were very rude about it. Waitress seemed a bit annoyed as we had dietary requirements (gluten free/halal)
Noticeably two people who came after us were looked after well, served food promptly etc
Not gonna come back here at all, and will tell others to avoid.
UPDATE: After posting this review, there are two other POC groups that have posted around the same time as us. I recall this as well as they weren't being served as either, and they also refer to the couple I mentioned above that received their food before any of us, noticeably they were not POC.
It seems they are appropriating aspects of Asian food but reluctant to serve them when they come to their cafe.
UPDATE UPDATE: just wanted to follow up and say that we got a call back to personally apologise for the experience we had here. Its very commendable for them to want to reach out and fix the situation and we really appreciate them taking the time to understand our feedback. Sometimes in service bad days and interactions can happen and what we perceive can be different to people's intentions. Thank you for the call!
What a little gem!
So hard to find good coffee in Canberra. The food was also delicious and really appreciate all the vego/vegan and gluten free options. Staff are also lovely and very quick service.
No photos because we are it too quickly.
I will be back.
