Busy little place. Had a great meal there but definitely felt the pressure to eat fast and get out of there with the line that was building outside. The food was pretty good, the staff seemed run off their feet and a little stressed, but still friendly. Coeliac safe!
The Service was very efficient and excellent the food was extremely good and delicious and I love how they offer a gluten free version for those who need it and very clear with allergies
Today was our first visit to this amazing cafe. We have gluten and dairy free requirements and were pleasantly surprised to find how well this cafe catered for our dietary needs. The soup and bread was superb. The coffee and hot chocolate drinks were extremely tasty. The service from Jaida was excellent; she was very pleasant and helpful. The staff member who served the food to our table was also pleasant. The pricing of the generously sized meals and drinks were good value. The staff were very accommodating if we did need to finish our meals after their closing time. We will return to this cafe.
I adore the carbonara from here, and the pizza is amazing. However, you can tell that they do not use Italian pasta, as non-Italian pastas use flours containing pesticides that is often the cause of people believing that they have gluten intolerance when really, it is just the flour used. This is fine, I don't mind getting gluten-free pasta instead.
The real killer, however? The price. For a family of four who each get a main meal (which is decently sized but not above average) and one drink each, and perhaps a serve of garlic bread, it easily comes to $200+. Yes, it's nice food, but for the quality of the ingredients used, the prices are ridiculous. We can hardly ever afford to eat here, as much as we love it.
If price is not an issue for you, I definitely recommend it, but it's sad how much of a hole one meal from here burns in our pocket.
Such a great little cafe in Porties. Haven't been here in years and visited while in town, it didn't disappoint. Great service, good coffee, and coeliac friendly. Really great brunch today.
A hidden gem in the heart of Adelaide!
Cafe Troppo is hands down one of the best cafes in Adelaide for anyone seeking great coffee, sustainable food and a relaxed atmosphere. From the moment you step in , you’re greeted with a warm, community-focused vibe that truly reflects the spirit of Adelaide’s vibrant cafe culture.
The coffee here is exceptional- consistently smooth and perfectly brewed using ethically sourced beans. I had a flat white that was the best I’ve tasted in the CBD.
The food menu is a celebration of local and seasonal produce with plenty of vegan , vegetarian and gluten free options.
I had the chilli eggs followed by the vegan carrot cake, both delicious and beautifully presented.
Located on Whitmore Square, Cafe Troppo offers a tranquil escape from the city buzz, with a cosy interior and leafy outdoor seating.
Their commitment to sustainability and low-waste practices really sets them apart.
If you’re looking for a top rated breakfast spot in Adelaide or just want to enjoy locally sourced food and amazing coffee, you can’t go past Cafe Troppo.
Highly recommended!
Had a scrumptious breakfast here. Great service, food well cooked and full of flavour. Lovely ambient Cafe and my coeliac gluten free needs were carefully catered for.
Corn bread is a must!!!
Ate here recently after seeing positive feedback on coeliac pages. Was shocked I could even consider trying to eat somewhere like Betty's Burgers, decided to take the risk there one day and had a burgers (best burger I've had since my diagnosis) chips and a milkshake. Delicious as it used to be but also no reaction!? Couldn't believe I could eat food that good and not get glutened. I can't stop talking about it
Love coming to dinner at The Haus! The food is amazing, great selection of wines and a great atmosphere! I also love how many coeliac friendly options they have on their menu!
Visited sometime back and can't wait for next visit when that way. Great gluten-free options and helpful staff. Also random for a review, but worth the praise is the women's restrooms that were super clean and thoughtful.
Visited on a weekday it was at capacity. Their cakes and assorted baked products look visually appealing and delicious. They do bake gluten free cake. Worth a visit for a coffee or shopping for a cake for a special occasion this is the place to go.
The young was lovely very friendly and it's a wonderful little vegan cafe I had a lovely coconut milk cappuccino and my husband had a soy milk cappuccino we both also had very tasty gluten free sea salt brownies
I'm a celiac and I unfortunately was glutened...so I was really disappointed...I explained to the lady that took my food order it must be completely gluten free....not good enough
I popped in here desparate for some quick, easy to eat food on the go and got the wild zataar and veg on gluten free bread.
Any one who needs to avoid gluten understands how most gluten free bread completely sucks, so I was pleasantly surprised when I bit into this and the bread was deliciously crispy, chewy in texture, and wasnt dry!!!
Decent espresso. Atmosphere, very small inside, crowded/was super busy. Pretty expensive
I've been getting a box of meals delivered from Enzo's for about 12 months now.
The taste, flavour and texture reminds me a lot of the pasta I had growing up. The tiramisu is awesome and the gluten free garlic bread is really good.
I would recommend giving them a try if you haven't already.
We ordered coffee and a piece of cake. They brought the wrong cake even though we pointed at the one in the display that we wanted to make sure they understood we wanted the chocolate cake from the bottom shelf and not the chocolate one on the middle shelf. Bringing the wrong cake is not a big deal on its own but the way they dealt with it was pretty disappointing as if we were in the wrong and not them. They wouldn’t bring us the cake we had ordered. To be clear we ordered the gluten free cake but they brought one with gluten! What if someone is gluten intolerant?!
Atmosphere was good but you know…
We had paella, lamb salad, saganaki prawns, pan-fried veal, affogato, and tiramisu. The paella was a touch salty, but the lamb salad totally made up for it—it was spot on! I also loved that they had plenty of gluten-free options, which made the whole experience even better for me!”
The gluten free pizza was really good. I chose the Speciale which I was pleasantly surprised was not covered in cheese meaning it felt quite a bit healthier. I would get this again!
Not suitable for trying to work remotely during lunch as it is too loud and choc-full of people. Came here to sit down and grab a bite for a remote meeting. Oops. Just come to eat.
Plenty of space not at lunch time and perhaps might have worked out better then but did not have a choice of time.
Amazing food and coffee. I was having the worst morning at work and decided to treat myself, and I am so glad I did. The egg sl*t honestly brought me back to life! 10/10 recommend.
Great gluten free options too

Twice I’ve been here now. First time was overcharged an entire meal but when I called up they refused to acknowledge.
Second time I ordered 2 gluten free meals (as listed on the menu), I took a bite and realised there was no way it was gluten free and then was met with an argument by staff. I received a refund for a kids portion then received a tiny portion of gluten free pancakes, then was advised after half an hour of me waiting for a meal that they didn’t have any more so I needed to order something else!
Never again will I go here
We had a beautiful breakfast here. Plenty of gluten free options, food and coffee was delicious and the staff were attentive and lovely. We will be back!
Ordered a toasted burrito. The red chilli sauce was unfortunately quite mild, but the burrito itself was great. Friendly service!
(As a celiac, they do cater to us. However, the gluten-free burrito is very delicate and you might have to finish the meal in a bowl.
Ate here and it was absolutely delicious!!! As someone who is coeliac its hard eating out but i got advised the owner is coeliac also and everything is seperated and they can pretty much do anything, GF, staff were lovely and very reassuring I was super comfortable eating here. I could not taste the difference, the food was just beautifully done, I was so full I could not finish my meal. The pricing was super reasonable, definitely got more then we paid for.
My partner was also lost for words, he loves his burgers and couldnt stop complementing the burger all day and how delicious it was, he and I will be making regular visits 🤩✨️🤍
Had a table for 6 on the weekend for breakfast and we all had different but specific requests for how we wanted our food (e.g hard eggs, extra crispy bacon, gluten free bread etc) and our requests were spot on. Tasty, good portions and great coffee. Warm inside on a cool Hills day.
Been to Emma & Ivy and few times now. This cafe is a lush, plant lovers haven! So lovely to sit amongst the super lush plants. The kitchen makes delicious plates and the drinks menu is extensive and uses very nice products/ingredients. I’ve had a make your own breakfast plate and the roasted pumpkin plate. Also tried their chai latte and hot chocolates. All very tasty. They also are a cafe that has a separate section of kitchen dedicated to gluten free food. I love that they’re doing their very best to minimise cross contamination. As someone who is highly gluten intolerant I appreciate this level of detail a LOT! Thanks Emma and Ivy. Will definitely keep visiting.
Great for gluten free. Lots of seating inside and good heaters for the seating outside under the verandah. Can be pretty loud inside. The serving sizes are plenty so we almost always end up taking some home. You can order from them for delivery too.
