Amazing that they have gluten free, but does feel like they've lost a bit of their spark.
Been going down a couple of times a year, and seems to be less impressive food. Food was nothing special, which is a shame considering the cost. Also, when asked how everything was, I said the soft drinks needed checking as the lemonade was just soda, they did apologise but didn't change the drink (id only had a sip) and nothing was taken off the bill. Perhaps I should have been clearer on my expectations. That being said it's a shame it wasn't quite up to scratch as it used to be a real gem.
I have been to the Salt & Malt in Bristol centre and this had a much better feel and different menu options.
Gluten free pies and amazing ones. Coeliac safe though always a risk of cross contamination. Amazing pies and fun place. Rather noisy when full otherwise highly recommend.
Tldr: Some of the friendliest staff ive ever met, amazing gluten free options, one of the most beautiful atmospheres, 10/10!
I dont usually eat alone at restaurants so was a bit nervous but every member of staff who spoke to me was so kind and so thoughtful and made my experience so nice. Gluten free menu had a lot of options but i went for the butchers brunch i think it was called?? absolutely AMAZING. There is a lot of space for sitting so it doesnt feel super cramped and absolutely gorgeous interior. i had such a lovely time and will definitely be returning! cant recommend enough :]]
I did also go in around 1pm and it was fairly quiet, so i imagine if you go later in the day itd be busier so if you want to go when its quiet id suggest 1pm or earlier!!
First time in the New Porto Lounge. Really impressed. Good food, excellent provision for gluten free, lots of space and very relaxing. Thank you so much.
The restaurant was quite empty when we came but we had a great experience. Staff were the perfect combination of attentive but giving you space. Food was delicious and caters for those who are vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free. So many different combinations can be ordered and it all tastes so good. Will definitely be visiting a Pieminster again;
I’m not a bad review type person, but I think it’s necessary. I’ve seen a lot of reviews on here about how nice and lovely the food was and I feel like they’re either being super generous, or they’re a bit delusional and probably have very disposable income. The few I’ve seen regarding the price for what is given in my opinion are most honest. I bought a “Buddha bowl” which I asked for a poached egg with (for an extra £1.25), came to just under £15, to which when it came was practically an empty plate, full of Tescos finest hummus… mmm yaaay!
literally, just a whole bottom layer of pure hummous.. from probably Tesco, (you can tell) with “roasted aubergine & squash” sprinkled on the top, giving the illusion there’s something to dive into. No, it’s definitely just hummus… just Tesco bought hummous. A whole yummy bowl of it, To Then be given ONE SLICE of (coop’s fossilised gluten free bread) CUT INTO THREE FINGER slices. WHAT? Absolute piss take. “Buddha bowl” you know,imagine?.. If Buddha ate that, he’d be Ghandi.
But wait, There’s more..
When I asked for just a little more bread to go with my mousse, I was told it would cost an extra £2.15 .. oh nice. If I wanted another rationed dry toasted finger slice of gluten free co cop branded crackers, I should pay for it. Sweet. Gotcha..
Maybe I should’ve got another egg, it’s cheaper.
Then in all the madness, besides my 3 thin slices of flavourless avocado, was the juicy “red cabbage salad” about literally 7 shreds (I’m not exaggerating at all), of cabbage and a chunk of core. Right there, I saw it, with my eyes, not even hiding. Just outrageous. What do they do measure it in milligrams?
I told the girls behind the counter and we agreed on the audacity, however no refund was offered. I guess I’d gone too far to ask for money back once I dived into the lake of deception. Assuming I was getting a mouthful of aubergine. She noted my complaint, reasoned & said she’d mention it to the head chef, who I think should rather consider converting to a shakes and smoothies lounge, because thankfully the smoothie was one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
Service for me was decent, nice girls, accommodating energy and the sofa was comfy.. but food prices/quality deserves a slap.
Impero Lounge is right on the High Street in the heart of Portishead, perfect to stop in before a jaunt around the harbour. They’re on a corner with huge floor-to-ceiling windows (that open right up) wrapped around two sides, flooding the vaulted interiors with light. There’s a lovely terrace out the front too, perfect for watching the world go by.
They’ve a fantastic range of food and drinks (including full kids, gluten-free and vegan menus) served in this relaxed, welcoming space. Look out for their mural celebrating Portishead’s old power station and lighthouse. Which is apt, as they’re a bit of a powerhouse and a shining beacon for the hungry and thirsty people of Portishead.
Went for brunch. Nice food and gluten free options. Friendly staff and great service. Asked for water and was provided it within a minute, which is the first time this has happened in a long time, I normally have to ask again in restaurants. Good breakfast offer. We'll certainly be going back. Lovely outside seating area.
Really enjoyed my visit to Cafe Neapolitan, I ordered a cooked breakfast along with a cup of tea. The potion size was big but they did not flag on the effort put in. The bread was hand made, which you could had the option of being gluten free. Also a choice of eggs, I went for scrambled which has added cooked onion which I though was a really nice touch. The cafe had a cosy atmosphere and the staff were friendly, I would defiantly recommend.
Brilliant independent cafe/bar! Great selection of food and drink and can cater for most allergies. They had a great selection of Gluten-free food and cakes!
There is a baby changing room in the ladies bathroom, in the end cubicle (FYI)
Dog friendly and good atmosphere. Well worth a visit! Can recommend booking if you can to guarantee a space!
A great Sunday roast! I have coeliac disease so eating out can be a challenge sometimes. However, not here. As soon as we walked in and explained I was coeliac the person that met us went straight into the kitchen to find out what I could/couldn't have. Then went our waitress took our order she explained that her brother had coeliac disease which was so reassuring and she also explained that the kitchen staff were cleaning everything down. Brilliant service, thank you! The food was lovely, would absolutely recommend
Staff told us the cannoli were gluten free - I’m allergic to gluten - so he got me one. It wasn’t at all gluten free (made with wheat pastry). Fortunately I suspected this before tasting it - I returned it and asked staff to check again.
This could have caused a serious allergic reaction - I fear for those with more serious allergies to nuts or milk that could be life threatening. The staff didn’t make much effort to recognise this - while they refunded it, all they said was “oh, sorry”.
Please be careful - staff were approachable and it was sorted quickly, but if you have allergies, check the ingredients yourself.
Had an amazing meal here yesterday and so did 3 members of our family who were with me.
I am dairy and gluten free and they were so helpful accommodating me.
Delicious food and very attentative service.
We will be back sometime.
I know airport food is always going to be overpriced and naff - but even my low expectation wasn't low enough. We waited for the uninterested waitresses to seat us, and told them we needed gluten free for my coeliac partner. They said they'd give us 10 minutes to look at the menu and make our choice and they'd be back. Upon their return we asked for a pasta dish, to be told that they'd run out of gluten free pasta - which would have been useful information to provide us with before we looked at the menu! We went for gluten free pizzas in the end, and they had clearly been made on frozen bases and chucked under the grill, because the toppings were melted but the dough was cold and undercooked. The uninterested waitresses didn't ask us how the food was, I think they knew. Took a while to get anyone's attention to pay as well. Inexplicably naff! The gluten free pizza (whilst crap and cold) didn't trigger my coeliac partner, so it's safe at least!
I attended on 31st December 1.30pmish. Absolutely amazing. I'm vegan, gluten free with many intolerances (onions, garlic etc) and rarely eat out. I'm not from Bristol. I was put at ease by the signage and friendly staff and made an ad-hoc cooked Brunch. Some items were adapted especially and everything was delicious. 15/5. I wish I could eat here every day. Thank you xxx
Consistent excellent. Trinity and Kate were amazing. It was my mums 84th birthday and wow did she get spoiled and trinity was so kind, engaging and helpful. I’ve eaten here a few times and the food is consistently excellent. Im also coeliac and know I’m safe.

Have always wanted to visit this restaurant and it did not disappoint!! The food was absolutely delicious, I had a lamb mint sausage with mash and a side if carrots and parsnips and omg I could eat that again and again! The dessert was delicious too (we had a gluten free cheesecake) HIGHLY recommend!
Very disappointed. I had phoned on Friday to reserve a table for Saturday and specifically asked if they could have a gluten free pizza base (I’m Coeliac) I was told that one would definitely be available. It also states on the menu gf pizza base available. When we got there no table had been reserved although it wasn’t busy. They did not have any gf pizza bases. They said the burgers were gf but they didn’t have any gf buns!! My reservation was in the diary but not the gf pizza request. At this point we left without having anything to eat. Since the menu has been changed it’s nowhere near as good as it was. May go in for a coffee but won’t be eating there again 😔
I've been going to this place for years mainly for lunch, but recently went for Sunday Breakfast, all five of us had Different dishes and everything was great, you'd be hard pressed to find a better quality Full English and for my Son who's Gluten intolerant they concocted and amazing roast Pork with corn Bread and lots of tasty trimmings, good service, really friendly Staff and big enough to easily accommodate a party of six...... Coffees decent too......
I visited The Lock Up on Sunday for a roast, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had! This was my third time at the restaurant, and it was by far the best experience yet.
I came this time as a Coeliac and was absolutely over the moon with the gluten-free options available—both for mains and desserts. I was especially thrilled to have a Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese, which are such rare treats for Coeliacs. I had the beef, which was cooked perfectly—tender and not at all chewy.
The staff were lovely and very accommodating. I really appreciated the care they took.
Highly recommend—especially if you're looking for a great gluten-free Sunday roast!
THE BEST BREAKFAST PLACE IN BRISTOL!! I could rave about this place all day long and write a 5000 word essay about how good this place is. From the most friendliest staff that are genuinely happy to be there (which is rare in hospitality) and always finding a way to struck up a positive conversation, to the atmosphere the place has. Nectar house has such an incredible atmosphere so cosy and hippie dippie I LOVE IT. Now to the best part of all……. THE FOOD OMG THE FOOD. The breakfast slays so hard it always come out Micheline Star level. If I was sentenced to death my last meal would be here without a second thought. Big portions and variety of foods. So accommodating to all diets: vegan, veggie, meat, gluten free. Oh and the owner is so wonderful. Polish owner of the year awards, so friendly and always makes sure to say hello to the regulars. This place is sick and twisted because I fight the urge to go there and spend all my money everyday.
This place is incredible. I've been gluten free for 3 years and never have I had a good gluten free cookie. I just didn't think it was possible. This place makes them and they genuinely are so amazing so chewy. Absolutely divine, and all the drinks are delicious! Really really lovely staff and I've heard the lunches are amazing too
I would definitely recommend this place! The food is amazing, very well prepared with high quality ingredients in tasteful and beautiful dishes. Also very good value for price. The acoustics of the room in the back are not really great, quite loud already with few people. Also great gluten free and vegan options.
Gorgeous food, great service. Very well cared for indeed.
Personal service. Ebony cared for us very well. Despite being busy, she offered great service. She got my salad from the kitchen for me as I'm coeliac, v kind and courteous indeed.
We had a takeaway and it was sublime! A really delicious curry and an easy click and collect set up. Most dishes seem to be gluten and dairy free also which makes it much easier for people with intolerances like me!

Amazing! Finally somewhere to have good BBQ. Exceptional value for money and the best thing is they could cater for me even though I am gluten free (coeliac)
Amazing atmosphere and gluten-free options! We loved the breakfast, music, decoration and very kind people working there. Highly recommended by us for kids & adults. Easy reservation online possible.
Brilliant visit! Really couldn’t fault anything! Food was tasty and well presented, huge choice of pizzas and gluten free bases lovely! We also had two sides, wings and fries, which were also gluten free.
Had a large glass of wine and partner had alcohol free beer (one of 5 alcohol free options!) which went down very well.
Definitely will go back and definitely recommend.
We had a great experience when we visited your Cheswick village cafe for brunch last week. We were attended to by a super waitress called Ruby who was very professional and friendly and immediately found us a booth. She was helpful and flexible with one of our party's gluten and dairy allergies. The food and service were both excellent. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Stumbled upon this place and really enjoyed it! The cafe is a little small, therefore not a place to stay too long/work from. Good selection of drinks and food, and can cater for various dietary requirements, including vegan and gluten allergies. I'd happily visit again by myself or with a friend.
Went here today and the food was INCREDIBLE- had the scrambled tofu on toast with tempeh and it's the best scrambled tofu I've ever had! I come here often and the cakes are just amazing as well, so many gluten free options and they change on a regular basis- yum yum yum!
Gluten free pizza was a bit disappointing.
Freya served us and was lovely and engaging especially with the girls.
She did her best to ensure we were happy with our meals and had what we needed.
We had a very delicious vegetarian sharing platter with injera for two people. Portion was great and came with extra injera on the side.
Injera were gluten free (not coeliac) and I think 100% teff flour - really flavourful and sour.
Lovely owner and amazing atmosphere inside. Definitely coming back soon! Thanks!
I have Coeliac disease, and Côte is one of my favorite safe restaurants in Bristol. My husband and I try to plan a date night here every couple of months. I always feel well cared for by staff, and the extra touches of separate GF menus and GF flags in the food are greatly appreciated. The food is exquisite every time we dine in, and we enjoy tasting new recipes as well as ordering tried and true menu items. Côte will remain one of my go-to restaurants for as long as I live in Bristol.
Erin was incredible! She was so lovely and easy to chat to, not only that but she was super helpful as i have coeliac disease. She took the time to run through everything with me and made sure i felt at ease when ordering and eating my meal
Love going to Garden of Easton, its always a wonderful experience being with so many plants, and so cool on a hot day! We enjoyed all of our dishes and we apprecitated how many options were gluten free AND dairy free! We will be back soon!
