Some of the best breakfast of my entire life. Sublime. The namesake pancakes are as good as you'd want them to be, rich, complex, savory. Each variety or different type of cake hits such different notes and is such a delight to try.
Even the gluten free pancakes, definitely not my thing, were vastly enjoyed by my mom who because of dietary restrictions couldn't have anything else. She asks me if we can come back here very often.
As for anything else here, you may have had better eggs elsewhere I can't speak to that. But the pancakes in particular are of an unreal quality, I've taken friends here and they've agreed with me on how great it is here.
And I'm not ragging on the other meals you can have here either, I've mostly stayed pancake exclusive myself, but the eggs I've had were also of an above average quality to say the least.
The place is well maintened and really looks like a cheesecake factory, but less, I dunno, in your face? I like it a lot. Very homey, but still classy. Overall, great place, great food, and I've only had great service.

Food, service and atmosphere were all great and my celiac daughter was well taken care of. I'm giving 3 stars because we went on mother's day and they were taking reservations. But the online wait-list nor anywhere else online that we saw said so. So we joined the wait-list which said 10-20 min but it was really 45min. They really needed to take the wait-list offline and post they are taken reservations for that day.
Edit:
Thanks for the response, good to see you pay attention to customer feedback, I gave you another star for the followup.

This review is about the location in Southside.
There's a tl;dr at the end.
I did take-away so it was a limited atmosphere experience. Seemed like a normal kind of diner, just more brown and wooden?
I was VERY excited when I learned they make gluten free waffles (I have Celiac disease). It's only for the "design your own" section, at least when ordering online. Not for the specials. You also can't specify decaf for any of the coffee drinks (I ordered the signature drink that was supposed to have hazelnut, vanilla, and maple flavor with foam on top). But I figured I could deal with full caf for a day, and if I happened to get there before they made it, I could always ask them to do decaf instead.
The order was supposed to be ready to be picked up at 16 past the hour. I got there shortly after that and it wasn't ready. The place was basically empty. As far as I could hear and see there were two tables there, two servers, and two kitchen staff. They were all sort of meandering around slowly, and when one server finally came to greet me, they weren't pleasant at all. I've been a server multiple times in different places, so I know how hard it can be and always try to give the benefit of the doubt, so I was friendly to them and told them my name and what I was there for. They had me sign a receipt (we'd already tipped 15-20% online, our usual for take-away), then set it down and just walked away.
Another server came out and started prepping a to-go hot drink and I asked if that was mine and if so, could they make it decaf please, since there wasn't a way to request that online? The server just said "it's not yours," and finished what they were doing. Apparently didn't tell the other server. I waited another 10 minutes before the other server brought out the bag and said "here you go!" (the friendliest anybody had been). I said I still had a drink. The signature. Then I remembered we'd ordered it separately, trying to do it decaf, so I apologized and explained it was a separate check. They sighed and started prepping it and I quickly asked about the decaf, explaining the order issue. They didn't respond, but I could tell they were unhappy about it. I felt badly, but I had been very friendly, and when I was a server I was happy just to have someone be friendly and kind to me. Nobody ever tipped me on take-away orders. I only had 45min to have lunch with my spouse IF the food had been ready on time, which it wasn't, and now because of the very long wait I was going to have about 10min with him. I just wanted to get out of there, so I wasn't paying much attention while the server made my drink. I thanked her when I got it, and rushed out.
It wasn't until I tasted it a few minutes later when I was at my spouse's office that I realized it was plain coffee/espresso. I don't even know if it was decaf. But it tasted terrible and had none of the things from the signature drink in it I'd paid for. I wasn't going to go back, obviously, because we had no time at that point, and it looked like it was just those employees on the floor. So my spouse drank it instead because he can drink motor oil if it smells like coffee.
Tl;Dr It was super depressing atmosphere inside, servers were rude, food wasn't ready in time, so it ruined rare lunch date with spouse, and I was given plain coffee instead of signature drink I paid for. Lame. 2/5 stars. Only gets even the 2 stars because of the gf waffles, which I haven't been able to have since developing Celiac disease after a major surgery. Those were tasty.

We were kind of find a breakfast place our last day there and we were going to Nikki’s but they were closed and a businessman saw that we were frustrated and recommended the speckled egg in the PGH building

We found this quaint little bakery on a whim and we are so grateful we did. Tucked away in a quiet area, it was a hidden gem for us. We bought cupcakes and brownies last week for my son’s birthday and today picked up a wide variety of assorted goods to share with our out of town family and they can’t wait to visit when they come to town next. As a gluten free girlie, I cannot rave enough about the absolutely delicious gluten free goods especially the Peanut ‘better’ Cup. It’s so delicious and nothing is dry and gritty like other gluten free pastries. We are so happy with the quality and consistency of the products.

I've had their breakfast and gluten free pizza. Breakfast was omelet and spouse had waffles which we been enjoyed. Called 18 days ago for a gluten free cake, (I am from out of town) was told I can call two days before I need pick up for my cake. Called today ( a Tuesday, need cake Thursday ) and was told I can’t get a cake until Saturday. Then after talking to a “lead cake person” was told I can’t get a cake until Friday. The Federal Galley is a neat spot to grab a bite and try some beers/cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxed. We went before a concert at the stadium, it wasn't too crowded and was within walking distance from our hotel and to the stadium.
The 4 different kitchen gives you a great variety of options. There were vegetarian options as well as Gluten free buns available.
The beer selection was pretty good (you can see it on untapped) and they had a nice selection of cocktails as well as a full bar.
We happened to be there at happy hour and our 4 beers ended up costing us about 18$
The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star instead of 5 is the table was dirty, we had to find napkins and clean it off. It is more like a food court, as you grab your water/ glasses and cutlery yourself.
The food was delicious and we will probably go back if we find ourselves in town for a show.

This Texan transplant never expected to see so many Hispanic staff. We did carry out as we were going through the city but we're pleasantly surprised by the sheet number of Hispanic locals also coming here. After 12 years in Texas and countless vacations in Mexico, this place is pretty legit. The spicy salsa has some pretty good heat so be prepared. Regular mild salsa was mild.
For those with food allergies, they accommodated my daughter who is milk/dairy, egg, gluten, nuts/tree nut allergic. Not many can do that on the fly when they don't claim to be, but they did a slamming job (she's didn't get itchy at all).

I recently had a severe diet change- no eggs, dairy and gluten. It is hard to go out to eat and I really miss the social interactions that happen around a dining table. My boyfriend and I were coming to Pittsburgh for the Steelers game and I found this little gem. The GF/V donut was to die for- so delicious. I didn't know what to expect with a vegan egg sandwich, since I do eat meat- but WOW. The tofu scramble was so delicious and well seasoned. The GF bread was hearty and delicious. My boyfriend had a regular egg, cheese and bacon sandwich on ciabatta and said it was phenomenal. I am so grateful to establishments like this that have allergy friendly food- it makes dining out fun again and breakfasts have always been my favorite meal. Thank you, we will be back!

I got the gluten-free waffle with green onion mixed in, and salmon and cream cheese on top. Also got a cappuccino with caramel flavoring. Both were delicious!
Service was okay. I asked the server if there was any chicken or turkey sausage and he said no, there was sausage gravy (after I ordered the gluten-free waffle saying it was an allergy). I said I wanted chicken sausage on the side and he said there wasn't any, just really pushed for sausage gravy or chicken tenders.
I've been to another one of these restaurants in Beaver and thought that there was chicken sausage but I couldn't remember, and couldn't seem to find it on the menu when I was ordering.
As we gathered up the menus I noticed there was in fact cranberry chicken sausage. Just thought it was weird that wasn't mentioned, and after I said I was gluten-free why sausage gravy would be mentioned? I know typically sausage gravy isn't made from chicken or turkey sausage and has wheat. So that was the opposite of what I wanted. But ok.
Some people at the table got decaf coffee cappuccinos and it seemed to be unpalatable, as they both mentioned it wasn't good and added extra vanilla syrup that still didn't help. Most of it remained in the mug.
