All of their burgers are gluten free, you just have to ask for a gluten free bun. Their onion rings and fries are also gluten free & they have gluten free beer too! A coeliac must try!
We visited on what seemed to be a particularly busy day, which unfortunately affected the overall experience. Tables hadn’t been cleared, and it felt like the staff were either stretched too thin or not effectively managed.
That said, the gluten-free menu was impressive and offered plenty of options, which we really appreciated. I ordered the Buds Bowl, which sounded great on the menu, but it arrived missing key ingredients—there was no roasted squash or pomegranate seeds. With only one server visibly working and clearly overwhelmed, it was impossible to get their attention, and no one checked in to see how our meal was.
Since we had to pay before eating, there was no opportunity to raise the issue or have it resolved, which left us feeling a bit disappointed.
We’re keen to try the chain again at a different location because of the excellent gluten-free options, but we won’t be returning to this particular site.
HUGE gluten free menu and absolutely delicious. I had the steak sandwich which was so yummy and smooth. The service was incredible and the view is great if you enjoy people watching. Definitely recommend for a nice lunch in the city centre.
Absolutely gorgeous stay where I was able to eat safely the whole time! It's a fully Gluten and Dairy free pub! I had 3 meals here from dinner to breakfast to a Sunday lunch which included all the trimmings! Absolute heaven! I cannot recommend visiting here enough!
Great place for people with food inflictions 😊. Separate menu for Celiacs, which was very impressive. Nice place, with seating inside and outside. Food very good. Service not that quick and had to be reminded that I'd ordered a desert. Would go again
I have been to a few of the restaurants owned by “The lounge” and everytime I have been glutened I’ve had to ask about so many things on the GF menu even the coleslaw which by the way at the time wasn’t gluten free….the food is always amazing however I feel the risk is quite high for coeliacs like myself….
Whole separate gluten free menu, genuinely never seen so many options! the staff are so friendly, patient and understanding when it comes to being told about celiac.
Excellent food. Very gluten free aware. Great service. Had the duck followed by gf cheesecake. Fantastic meal and lovely environment. 3 courses. Lovely
Everything on the menu is gluten free which was a revelation for my husband who has coeliac disease. Also good vegetarian options for me. The food was excellent and service was really friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. We will return.
Really good food and good portion sizes, service was fast and our waitress was lovely, sorry I forgot her name. Beautiful view and also had a good gluten free range and good alcohol free range, the coast to coast alcohol free cocktail was amazing. Thanks :)
Four adults visited the Rok for the first time, (which is a separate resteraunt but part of The Lighthouse building) . We had the Sunday lunch menu and were impressed with the food, service and amazing sea view. My wife requires a gluten free diet and she had a number of options to choose. We will definitely be returning.
Very disappointed tbh
I've been looking forward to trying this place for a while.
I put the order in on the website.
There's no way of changing the order time and no way to order a gluten free kids burger, so I put a note on the order, then I also phoned up to ensure the messages about picking the order up half an hour later that automatically put, and that the kids burger needed to be gluten free.
Oh yes. We got the message. That's absolutely fine, said the polite lady on the phone.
I arrived a few minutes early at 5.41 said I was picking up the order, and he said
Oh. You're a bit late. And pulled the order out of a just eat insulated bag.
I said "The order was supposed to be for 5.45, I phoned up to make sure".
He did say it would probably be ok and offer to redo it all, but the reason for getting take away at that specific time was because I had to go out, so redoing it all wouldn't have been possible.
I then mentioned about my son's gluten free burger. He hadn't seen the message about that either (said something about doing several orders at once) so my son couldn't have his burger as he'd ran out of Gluten free buns at 5.15pm..
Again, I was given the option of a refund for my son's burger or to wait which wasn't an option.
If the burgers had been amazing, it wouldn't have been so bad, but for almost £43 they really weren't great at all.
Shame because I'm desperate to find a nice local place to support that does gluten free food. We used to get take outs at least once a week.
