House bread with garlic butter, hot shrooms (star of the show), and Caesar salad were excellent. I think I would return just for those three things. Joey was an excellent server. I knocked off a couple stars because although our appetizers came out quickly, we waited an extremely long time for our entrées and the pesto fusilli came out room temperature, nearly cold. They accidentally served us a gluten-free widow pizza, and shortly after brought us one with the regular crust. The smoked date purée on the widow sounded intriguing, and although it was tasty, there was way too much slathered onto the pizza. I would not go so heavy handed with that covering the pizza. So overall, the entrees were meh, but the appetizers excellent!

Amazing vegan find in La Jolla, it was on a rooftop so it was so pretty and it was just an 11 min walk from the beach. We got desserts and both were amazing, we got the brownie and the carrot cake and both were soooo good. We couldn’t even tell the brownie was gluten free. They had so much food we wish we could’ve stayed for dinner.

The food here was amazing! From the fruit water they spend hours making to the in house gluten free bread (you'd never know) and the in house made fermented mock meats this was such a good meal. We had the fish balls and two classic banh mi sandwiches.

This is a really solid happy hour spot in the neighborhood! If you’re looking to stay gluten-free or are hanging with somebody who is GF, I’d recommend Bivouac.
The space is really cool; feels like a camping lodge! Lots of warm wood, climbing ropes, etc.
The meatballs and polenta bites were flavorful, delicious, reasonably priced and portioned, & had strong sauce/dip-pairings.
Service was okay. Not super attentive, and the flight took over 10 minutes to come out, which was weird, since the place wasn’t that busy. They ignored us a bit once some influencers showed up, meh.
Watch out for the pricing on the cider flights! (Meaning, there IS no listed price… think it was like $18 each? For 3 tasters.)
The hummus/crudites appetizer is underwhelming, as the veggies could be cut less coarsely, and the hummus was disarmingly minty (and not enough for all the dipping objects).

Lovely experience! Stopped here with my family and had the carnitas fajitas (pictured below) but it was huge and I could’ve shared it with someone. I have celiac disease and am very sensitive with gluten but they were supportive and understanding so we had a great meal. Overall the vibes were also great, such a colourful place with live music and a wonderful server, would definitely recommend.

I liked the food and the staff was very nice and friendly, they seemed like they did want to be there. The food was good, there were many gluten friendly options. I also liked the drink options and flavors. the mimosas say they’re puree but it seemed more
like a puree syrup.

Wow. Just wow. We just had an absolutely elite meal here. It's an unassuming spot, with a casual but cozy ambiance. Great for a date, celebration, or really any time you want a delicious plate of pasta.
If they have the mushroom flan, start with that. It was savory, and flavorful. We had the gluten free version, but I'm sure the normal is excellent as well.
I was impressed with the range of gluten free options, which is always appreciated for me (celiac). My partner had the crab and shrimp cream sauce with lemon linguini pasta, and she raved about it. I had the same linguini, but with the sausage saffron sauce, and loved it.
The dessert menu had a number of decadent sounding options, we settled for thr ugly chocolate cake and the GF tiaramisu. The tiaramisu was so creamy it was almost a pudding - tasty, and melt in your mouth smooth. The ugly chocolate cake (that's what they call it) was lighter than I expected, rich, but kinda airy like a soufflé.
Anyway, I can't say enough about this spot. It's a gem. If you want good pasta, this place delivers in spades.
Set in a beautiful courtyard with multicolored tiled domes and ancient architecture, this spot offers a spacious patio with grassy areas and sculptures. The live jazz and tap-dancing performances create a lively, relaxing atmosphere ideal for gluten-free diners seeking a safe, enjoyable environment.

A very fun (and delicious) brunch. My wife had the gluten free french toast which she loved, my one son had french toast and another had a kid’s pancake that came out as Mickey Mouse which was a very fun touch.
We asked for an extra side of Bacon they call “Man Candy” which has a lot of potential but was ultimately soggy and missed the mark, making candied spiced bacon (their attempt at it) isnt hard, they just need to work on it a little more.
I had the steak and eggs which was solid. The atmosphere was fun and the service was great. It got extremely busy on a Sunday after 10, so try to get in a little earlier!

We had an incredible experience with Sydney as our server and recently also had Marni - both were amazing. Fern who seems to be the manager here was so accommodating with our gluten and dairy restrictions, and even gave us a table outside after we decided to try sitting inside, where it ended up being a little too loud. It’s always great done somewhere, where you don’t feel like a burden for speaking up for what you need and they were stellar in enhancing our experience. Can’t wait to come back 🙏🏼

You got to love in n out. And you can get a Gluten free version. They use crisp lettuce in place of the bun. It’s a fast food place like McDonalds, busy, loud, but the food is 5x better.

Best meal we had in San Diego. Very good with gluten free items for my wife that needs to eat gluten free. Huge portions, so you can easily split an entree. We split and still had a lot of left overs. Fresh, high quality food. We also had the hummus which was fantastic.

Great atmosphere and menu. I loved the mocktail menu (though they were $$$), the fried rockfish and the summer squash salad. Their fryer is gluten free so celiac guests can enjoy fried fish!
The tuna crudo was not my favorite but I loved the prosciutto wrapped dates. Be aware that their grill is NOT gluten free due to all the delicious sourdough being toasted there so grilled items may be off limits for celiacs. All the servers were very aware of considerations for gluten free diners and I felt very confident in their recommendations. Would definitely return next time I’m in SD!
