I got a salad bar with salmon and my party also got the Rice Krispie bar and a grilled cheese tomato soup combo. It is on par with other Jason’s Deli and I appreciate the options for dietary restrictions like gluten free bread, etc.
My toddler has quite a few allergies. When we alerted our server, he got the GM, Stacy. She came straight to me, introduced herself and explained that quite a few things had what he was allergic to in them (dairy, egg whites, soy, wheat/gluten, alpha-gal). She let me know what they had that would work. I asked if they had a white fish (my little one loves white fish). She said yes! She asked what they could cook it in for him. She gave it to the kitchen. They used gloves, clean pans & ensured there was no cross contamination for him! They bent over backwards to make sure he had something he could eat. It truly came from a place of concern and I will forever be grateful!
The employees are knowledgeable about the store and where to find things. They have a nice selection of gluten free products and vegan products. But they also have lots of meat, dairy, and bakery options too. The Hope Tree wine is very good and very reasonably priced.
My family and I absolutely love going to the whole scoop. The staff and owner are always so friendly. I’m gluten free and the owner always takes the time to tell me which ice creams I can have and they have gluten free cones which is a major plus!
Carla like always greeted us with her gorgeous smile and seated us with no wait. Cody was an excellent server and took special care to make sure my celiac disease was taken seriously providing me a special menu and excellent service. The meal as usual was amazing. Kudos to the kitchen for a perfect steak. Saltgrass is always a great choice!
NOT FOR KIDS - These guys took burgers and chicken drumsticks off the kids menu. Hope your kid likes grilled cheese or mini pork sandwiches. Otherwise, you will spend 2-3 times as much for a burger or chicken for your kids. This also means there are now no gluten free options on the kids menu. Because of this, our little girl who eats next to nothing has to order a larger portion off the adult menu or she will get sick. Check the photo of the huge value we got out of spending twice as much for our other child’s burger. It’s the exact size we used to get for much less.
I want to take a moment to focus specifically on the fact that Jim N Nicks’ kids menu no longer has a hamburger on it. Let that sink in. What kids menu doesn’t? The Mexican and Chinese restaurants we frequent have kids’ burgers.
I want to wrap this up by saying that we just can’t go to Jim N Nicks with our children anymore. That, and I sure am glad I never went to this restaurant craving a burger. That thing was paper thin. Like somebody had smacked a slider with a frying pan. A nine dollar, flattened slider.
Edit - While I appreciate Jim N' Nick's attempt to get me to just accept a free meal or two so I won't make a fuss about this not being a kid-friendly restaurant, really the only thing that will fix this is Jim N' Nick's fixing it's kids menu. Parents enjoy your food and like to spend time with their kids. Fix this.
It's so simple and cheap (extra $$ for you) to take some chicken wings and throw them in a fry basket. No breading. No seasoning. Fry it until it floats and put it on a plate with some fruit and ranch dressing. You already have all of these ingredients. Kids love it. Parents love when kids don't complain about their food so everyone can have a good time. Don't leave parents hanging just because your chef isn't capable of thinking up these simple solutions when you realize you're loosing money on certain dishes (in Jim N' Nick's Bizarro(TM) accounting). I'll let you know an issue with your accounting that you may not have considered - if families can't come in to enjoy your restaurant, you will go out of business. Full stop. Do you really want to shed 15-20% of your business?
We love Uncle G's! We're able to eat there safely with gluten intolerance/celiac. Today was the busiest we've ever seen it, almost every seat was filled plus take out orders. They ran out of an ingredient and Jack handled the issue w/ the best customer service! He also went above and beyond to take a photo for the birthday party. Repeatedly we've had great experiences with many staff members so this is not an isolated event. We will continue to come to this place for our family pizza nights. Thanks Uncle G's!
Ordered four dishes, but one was swapped for a non-gluten free option, and the Taiwan rib dish was half chunks of pure fat. The rest of the food was spectacular.
Best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to! Our food came out in less than 5 minutes and the food was fresh and delicious. They catered to my brothers food allergy (gluten) and were very friendly. Amazing service, amazing food, and an amazing atmosphere!
Super Chix is my fave lunch spot! The food is always delicious and consistent. As someone with gluten intolerance I love that I can have the fries there! Everytime I go the customer service is top notch. The restaurant is clean and the employees act like they want to be there. A special shout-out to Juanita for 5 star customer service
Not impressed. Sorry! I got the chicken bowl. Maybe, that's reason. I needed GF, and they had offerings like Cole slaw and fries. Not very gluten free friendly!
Such nice servers, you truly feel like you are among friends here. Wonderful drink and food options as well. Added bonus of getting treats from The Joyful Food Co. here perfect for my daughter with celiac disease. Ongoing puzzle to work in and beautiful local art!! A neighborhood gem!!
Service was incredibly nice, very sweet to talk with. The server also guided me through the menu on some questions..
And the food. Wow, SO good. Found a new weekly lunch/dinner spot! I also saw they have Gluten free and vegetarian options which will be helpful for my fiance.
I’d take a photo but my plate was empty!
This is a truly delicious place and a healthy experience. They have great menu and gluten free bread. We need places like this in Birmingham so please eat here to support this great local business.
Great coffee and delicious food. Absolutely professional and friendly staff! They also have gluten-free baked goods (gluten-free muffins) that taste absolutely delicious!
Great coffee and delicious food. Absolutely professional and friendly staff! They also have gluten free pastries (gluten free muffins) that taste absolutely delicious!
Tried them tonight for first time. Two pizzas—one gluten free and one regular crust. Both pizzas were excellent. The online order process was a breeze. Picked them up at the store.
I have been ordering Fit 5's for a little over two years. They have a great menu. I am celiac and they always have plenty of gluten free options. I have had to contact them a couple of times and they are always quick to respond. The food is fresh and reasonable! It is also a huge plus that their meals are now on My Fitness Pal. Highly recommend!!
Publix is hands down my favorite grocery store, and every shopping trip there feels like a pleasant adventure in quality and service.
First and foremost, the cleanliness and organization of the store are top-notch. The neatly arranged aisles and well-maintained displays make finding products a breeze. I can trust that the produce section will offer fresh and vibrant fruits and vegetables, and the bakery never fails to tempt with its delightful array of bread and pastries.
What truly sets Publix apart is its commitment to customer service. The staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and eager to assist. From the cheerful cashiers to the knowledgeable employees at the deli counter, the level of service is exemplary. They go the extra mile to make sure you have a pleasant shopping experience.
The variety of products at Publix is impressive. Whether I'm looking for a specific brand or a unique specialty item, I can usually find it here. The store caters to a wide range of dietary needs, from organic and gluten-free options to international cuisine ingredients.
Publix's bakery and deli deserve a special mention. Their fresh-baked bread, delectable pastries, and a wide selection of cheeses and deli
The food was so good
I love that they give you a taste of different Asian flavor.
And lots of their stuff is made in-house, and they have gluten-free food as well

I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO enjoyed my Acai Berry Bowl! I don't live in Alabama anymore so I haven't eaten at City Bowls since April 2019. It was just as AMAZING as it was the last time I had it. Thank you for being consistent and having gluten/soy-free granola😁.
