Great food and atmosphere. They had gluten-free options and bread for celiacs. The only drawback is that the air conditioning was very high and we were quite cold.
New food experience in New York. After a long walk visiting Brooklyn Bridge, WTC, Time Square and Little Italy, we decide to do a stop in SugarFish, as suggested by a friend of us. Nice location, with a good menù and three tasting proposal. Good food experience for the eyes and the taste. I suggest also for Celiac people.
As an Italian and Sicilian I can assure you that this restaurant is authentic and made me feel at home, the food was delicious, the dishes fully reflect Sicilian and Italian cuisine and the pasta is fresh. Also the gluten free pasta is really delicious. I will definitely go back next time I go to New York!!
Just did a casual dinner at the bar top table - highly recommend to dry all raw menus, snow crab claws, scallops and raw prawns - They are exceptional. Cauliflower with sea urchin foam was good but not what I imagined - still ate it all to the last crumb.
Also, I had chicken for main, which was crunchy, juicy and so flavorful! Next time im going to try pasta which was highly recommended but one of us couldnt consume gluten. Also, great mocktail options .
Shuka offers delicious Mediterranean food and great service. The hummus is probably the best I have ever had, smooth and with a delicious garlicky flavour. Likewise, we ended up eating the tahini sauce under the falafel with a spoon because it was so good!
The tarama was equally delicious, with a great balance of the smoky, creamy flavour of the Arctic char and the fresh, salty flavour of the salmon roe.
For starters, I highly recommend the calamari, which was delicious, light and refreshing, providing the perfect balance to the creamy sauce, especially on a rather warm evening.
I would particularly commend the staff for constantly checking that our gluten-free preferences were being respected.
This was a good spot that accommodated a large party (8 people). The food was delicious and service was quick. The only downside is that they advertise they have gluten free pasta options but the pasta is cooked in the same water as the regular pasta, therefore not truly gluten free.
The food was fantastic!! We had outstanding appetizers: foie gras, bigeye tuna, radishes, escargot and crab croquettes. Every bite was better than the last. The steak frites, soft shell crab, scallops and chicken were delicious as well. They are known for their steak frites, soft shell crab and scallops. Definitely returning! You will not be disappointed in choosing Raoul's. Our server, Mauro, was excellent as well. She led us to the right and best dishes. My only recommendation would be to have dishes for those who have dietary restrictions, such as those who are gluten-free and dairy-free. So many people have dietary restrictions nowadays, it would be helpful to have a few dishes to offer.
We got their bread sampler, baguette sandwiches, and some other items.
If we’re talking just about the food their baguette is good, especially when paired with jam and butter. The rest of the items were just okay to us, edible, but nothing special. The baguette sandwiches were very hard to chew and didn’t have much flavor.
Also, the seating area is very cramped if there’s a table behind you, it’s hard for anyone to get in or out comfortably.
As for customer service, it was worse than just okay. They didn’t take ownership of the mistakes they made and only tried to make up for it after being called out and asked directly, TWICE. What happened was our friends ordered 5–10 minutes ahead of us and didn’t get their food until we were almost done eating. They placed their order at the same time we ordered shareable dishes, so it really didn’t make sense. The staff didn’t acknowledge the issue until we brought it up, and even then, they tried to defend themselves which was honestly just a JOKE. Eventually they gave 10% off and a gluten free dessert to make it up. SO KIND.
Not the kind of experience we were hoping for. Not sure if they know how to do their business LOL
I've been eating at Lupe's since I was a kid and it's consistently amazing. Their burritos are in my Top 3 favorite dishes in the city and I've taken countless friends, from NYC and out of town, to eat here; every single one of them has been thoroughly impressed and now immediately suggests Lupe's when we hang out. Their fresh juices are also incredible, as well as their plantains and homemade chips and salsa. I can't say I've tried a lot of their menu as I mostly stick to burritos and brunch dishes (they're too good to ever experiment with other things!) but my friends have also really enjoyed the enchiladas and nachos. Oh, and they're very vegan friendly and decently gluten-free friendly!
Excellent food here. I liked both the stuffed chicken and the gnocchi, both of which were gluten free. Will definitely come back and try the other dishes.
