This was an amazing place to celebrate my birthday. Everything from the Butter Service Garnish to the Caesar salad and the truffle lobster toast were phenomenal. They were very attentive to my gluten intolerance and provided a gluten free option for the bread. Excellent server. Wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend!
They were not very good at catering to dietary requirements even though notified in advance so disappointed with that. If you have dairy & gluten intolerance I would avoid as you will miss out on dessert etc and have a very limited choice. Compare this to per se the day before and they whisked up 6 different desserts!
We were quoted 20 minutes for a table however ended up waiting over 50 minutes, watching multiple groups walk in and take priority because they were larger. Whether this is for cashflow - I’m not sure, but I would favour people who have been waiting the longest rather than seating larger groups instantly as they walk in. (And no they did not have a reservation).
The lady at the counter was rude about the delays and kept telling us it would be another 10 minutes. She should have quoted us an hour if all the two person tables were unavailable for this long. She screamed at us saying ‘I just work here’ instead of providing a solution.
I went to order the breakfast sandwich on gluten free, (the menu says GFA) - to the server telling me it’s not good with gluten free. So that lead me to be confused as to why they would offer it that way.
Honestly the place was such a shit show. As a New Yorker I would never return.
Food was average too.
Great food and atmosphere. They had gluten-free options and bread for celiacs. The only drawback is that the air conditioning was very high and we were quite cold.
Visited this restaurant for brunch and was impressed by its beautiful ambiance. However, I deducted 4 stars due to the limited vegan options and the restaurant's unwillingness to make substitutions. I tried the rice pudding and the French salad, which were both delicious albeit expensive. The service was friendly and the restaurant offers great gluten-free options. Additionally, everything served at the table is available for purchase, making it a unique shopping experience.
Great gluten free options and coffee. But definitely a little pricey compared to other cafes. Is self service . But overall great ambiance especially from outside hassle.
The Best Gluten free meal I have had out in a very long time. Thank you so much Jen for the extra attention. We will be coming for our birthdays every year if it's up to me.
Amazing peaceful atmosphere on their patio with a water feature. Service was top-notch and very relaxing. Quiche Lorraine was absolutely the best quiche I have ever had in my life. Pair that with the delicious moist gluten-free crêpes on offer and it was the best gluten-free dining experience we have had in a very long time. Owners are amazing, friendly sweet and the food is delicious. You are missing out if you skip over this tiny little hole in the wall restaurant.
We loved everything about this place. Lots of people for a Wednesday night but definitely no wait. Waitresses was very understanding about gluten free.
Favorite restaurant in the world
Authentic French food
No reservations
They only serve salad, steak, and fries which are all GF. Don’t eat the bread / some desserts.
Just reopened in NY and the lines are long but worth it
Jason was spectacular!! Came for Mother’s Day and enjoyed the gluten free lemon pancakes and beautiful fruit plate.
The lovely outdoor tables along Broadway were so good 😊
We had a lovely family gathering for brunch! Our server Justin was very helpful in making sure everyone had what they needed, especially one guest with a gluten allergy. Delicious food - look forward to our next visit!
Delightful and delicious meal at Daniel. We came later after a theatre and did not feel rushed at all. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful, sommelier had excellent recommendations, and the kitchen was charming about accommodating my dairy - gluten avoidance.

TL;DR: 4/5 star food, 1/5 service. Should be stripped of their michelin star until they can get their front-of-house in order.
Review: I'm just going to rip the band-aid off now, and say in all of my years of going to restaurants, from chain restaurants to Michelin star restaurants, I have never been made to feel less "valued" as a customer than at Le Jardinier. The restaurant should be stripped of it's Michelin Star because of how poor the service is alone.
My wife and I have been looking forward to trying this place for months now as we saved up to take a Christmas trip into NYC. We were excited for the tasting menu most of all. We excitedly confirmed with our waitress that the tasting menu was gluten-free for my wife and let her know we were most likely going to do it. She leaves, says she'll come back to take a drink order, but she never returns. Instead, our first course shows up, and another guy eventually comes around to take a drink order. From that first course up until the dessert plates were cleared, our waitress never came back to check on us, never asked if we needed anything, no one asked if we wanted another glass of wine or a cocktail.
The waitress ignored us for the entire 2.5 hour ordeal. It wasn't a 2.5 hour ordeal to appropriately space the tasting menu mind you. If it was, they would have been interested in selling more drinks to us at the very least. The food was just slow.
The wait staff even dropped the desserts at our table without so much as a word about what was in them until we had to ask because my wife was nervous about the cookie-like thing on the bottom of hers. Meanwhile, the customers to our left and right were being waited on consistently by the waitress. She was chatting both tables up. Their water was constantly topped off. The disparity in service was so profound we both just wanted to leave by the fourth course.
So, how WAS the food? It was...fine. The first item, HIRAMASA, GRAPEFRUIT, JICAMA, AVOCADO MOUSSE, BAY LEAF, was fresh, good acidity and use of textures, and it was plated beautifully. It was a nice start to the meal for sure. The second item was SAVOY CABBAGE "LASAGNA" CELERY ROOT, HAZELNUTS, BLACK TRUFFLE." It had a nice savory, earthy flavor profile to it and was pretty tasty. The third dish was surprisingly underwhelming, POACHED MAINE LOBSTER, CREAMY POLENTA, CORALINE BISQUE It was very one-note in it's flavor profile and my poached lobster was overcooked. Rather disappointing. The fourth course was the LONG ISLAND CRESCENT DUCK, ROASTED SALSIFY, KUMQUATS. The duck was just salty. If there was other seasoning on it, I couldn't tell because it was licking a salt cube. The cook was impeccable though, so they definitely get points for that. The dessert I had was THE PUMPKIN PATCH, AUTUMN SPICE CHEESECAKE MOUSSE, CANDIED GINGER ICE CREAM. It was visually impressive, but your mileage may vary depending on how you care for flavors like pumpkin or ginger. I will say though, their patissier is very skilled.
The food is good, they have Gluten Free options, Fran served us and was very attentive and friendly, making sure that the food was gluten-free and everything was good.
Please read all the low reviews before coming here. I made the mistake of not doing that.
What a disappointment. If you are looking for good pastries and gluten free options this is not the place for you. It took more than an hour to get our items. When they brought back my sandwich - I had to ask if the bread was gluten free and the waiter didn't know. So he took it back and I had to wait another hour. I waited two hours for a salmon gluten free sandwich.
It's really disgusting inside. Dirty dishes piled and reusing water bottle for customers? Yuck!
The quiche was watered down and the breads all felt a day old. There are no seats available.
I would not recommend this place.
The food was so delicious and the service was amazing. I’m so grateful that the chef accommodated me with multiple food allergies and I was even able to eat a gluten free + dairy free dessert!!
I loved the service and the atmosphere here!! Such a happy place to sit down and enjoy a light meal. Great gluten free pastries and bread, coming from a fellow celiac. Tierney was awesome will definitely be coming back
Really good food. Waitress knew I had a gluten sensitivity from my wig marketing reservations and mentioned it. Food was good, waitress was amazing..... We'll be back.
French cooking. Everything with butter. Farmer's omelet with veggies. Dish made no butter, good for gluten, fat and dairy free!
Piano music live and delightful.
Lovely neighborhood spot for delicious crepes (sweet and savory) and steak frites. Great French wines available at a reasonable price too. Good options for vegetarians and Gluten free
First time here- meal was lovely. All the courses were excellent, service was great, wine list is simultaneously serious *and* affordable. Bravo.
Bonus points for being so accommodating to my gluten-free situation. Not always an easy thing with French cuisine, but was no trouble at all here. Much appreciated, and we'll surely be back.
Charming little restaurant. We got seated right away without a reservation, which was a little Christmas miracle. Then our server wandered off for 20 min before taking our order, but he redeemed himself by being very attentive afterwards and advised us well on gluten free options. The food came quickly, it was very good, especially the steak, and the pastries were scrumptious. Please visit, it is worth it.
I used to go here a lot when I worked in the area (over 7 years ago) and this was my first time back post-pandemic. NYC changes a lot over time but this place keeps on going because it is that good. Charming ambiance. Excellent and kind service. Small but great wine list and amazing food at reasonable prices for the area (i.e not $80-100 an entree). I have a gluten allergy so appreciate that everything is labeled and most of the menu is available.
The food was fantastic!! We had outstanding appetizers: foie gras, bigeye tuna, radishes, escargot and crab croquettes. Every bite was better than the last. The steak frites, soft shell crab, scallops and chicken were delicious as well. They are known for their steak frites, soft shell crab and scallops. Definitely returning! You will not be disappointed in choosing Raoul's. Our server, Mauro, was excellent as well. She led us to the right and best dishes. My only recommendation would be to have dishes for those who have dietary restrictions, such as those who are gluten-free and dairy-free. So many people have dietary restrictions nowadays, it would be helpful to have a few dishes to offer.
The food was cooked perfectly. The service is done by students and our waitress was absolutely lovely. She knew a lot about the menu and explained the dishes. She was very knowledgeable on my dietary restrictions for Celiac and she suggested the perfect dishes for my dinner and dessert.
Very traditional French cuisine with accommodating staff. They are happy to answer questions and have many gluten free options including frites dedicated fryer.
Drinks here are a 10/10!
Food I can’t say the same. This sandwich was $19 (gluten free bread added), and for that price I was expecting a huge and delicious breakfast sandwich. Sadly it’s very mid, skimpy with the portions, and just overall not good for the price! I didn’t even finish it because it just tasted so blah. For the price of food I would skip.
But again, their drinks are amazing and worth the money.
Went for lunch on Saturday right at noon opening. We shared plates to try the amazing menu. Asparagus salad with fresh ricotta, Cobb salad, Brussels, and moist and delish Cajun chicken. Fantastic server who provided lots of options for our gluten-free diner. Counting down the days until I can have the chicken and Brussels, and try the artichoke app…
Wow, the Korean food was fantastic and my wife is a celiac and dairy free and she could have most of the items on the menu including Korean SSAM platter which she thought was delicious! Next day she felt fine which meant they really what they were doing with allergies. Foremost the food was really tasty!
It was our first visit to the restaurant, from the moment we arrived you know you are ìn a special place. The greeting when we arrived by owner Ari and his wife made you, feel like a regular. The ambience
Was spot on from the music to the lighting, and noise level not existent. Cocktails freshly made had an off the hook Spicy margarita ,and the menu of very unique drinks were ordered by many. Service by our waiter Arturo was very attentive, And that was just the beginning of a fantastic dining experience !
I need to eat gluten-free. And they had so many choices and the menu,
It was terrific! I ordered escargot Which was accomcomped by gluten Free bread so as not to waste the delicious sauce. The bacon wrapped pork loin was very flavorful and cooked perfectly! And the apple tatin,a perfect ending to a perfect meal!
We will definitely be regular customers , and if you have not experienced this restaurant don't miss it!!!
Place was busy on multiple days I visited while staying in NYC. Ordered pastries and a latte on both occasions.
Pastries were soooo delicious. Latte was tasty and presentation was on point.
Service was good but they have to be quick b/c they are quite busy, so keep that in mind.
Would recommend this place.
One shoutout on the dietary restriction options. We ordered their gluten free cookies but didn’t read the full ingredients on the label first. Had some nuts in it and my wife couldn’t eat. Felt rushed b/c of how busy they were. Should’ve taken our time and read in full.
