We ended up at this bakery by accident today. I hadn’t ever sought it out before because of it being vegan, in my experience gluten free + vegan baked goods aren’t the best. Boy was a wrong, I had one of the best cinnamon rolls of my life here (including glutinous ones). The service was lovely, atmosphere was great and I will definitely be back next time I am in the area, the pie looked incredible.
My gluten free dreams came true. I haven’t had fare food in at least eight years. To finally have found a gluten free restaurant that serves corn dogs and funnel cakes that taste 10/10 was just the best thing ever. The corn dog was sweet, crunchy, salty, and flavorful. The funnel cake was sweet, soft on the inside and crunchy and chewy on the outside and exactly how I remembered from my childhood fare days. Super quick service, my food was ready in 8 minutes.
Love their amazing unique flavor selection! Flavors like Midwest Rice Crispy, Lemon Lavender, Honey Passionfruit, and best of all for our family, they had 4 vegan (and gluten free) flavors- dark chocolate, pina colada, crème brine and Thai tea - the last two are pairing together beautifully! Thank you Sugar J's!
Came with two vegans who were delighted with the hipster bagel. It's huge! I had the vegan sando, and my friends, I am not even vegetarian but this sandwich was enchantingly delicious! Piles of smoky vegan thinly sliced salami that would satisfy any meat eater. I couldn't be happier with this sandwich. They also roast and sell coffee beans and have a menu full of creative rich lattes like "cookie butter" and "stroopwaffle". Their fresh bakery items include giant donuts and pastries (they offer vegan donuts and gluten free coffee cake alongside traditional goodies). Really great treat to find this place.
The chowder is great…4 flavors to choose from and all gluten free. The bread served with it is not gluten free. Chowder has a nice amount of real, fresh seafood. Lots of crab meat in mine that was claw crab meat.
The ice cream was not good. Not good because there is xanthan gum in it. There’s no reason to put gums in ice cream. To me cheap ice cream has gums. Gums suck up liquid. So the ice team ends up with a dry feel/texture. I had an ice cream bar and it felt warm and dry . Yes it didn’t drip on me, but good ice cream drips as it melts. I looked at the ingredient list on the other ice cream in the to go freezer, and they had gums. So I didn’t get more ice cream when I went back the next day. That said, if you like gum ice cream, they do have interesting flavors. Be prepared to spend $7 for a scoop.
They have gluten free waffle cones and will get your fresh gluten free ice cream if you ask. Our server was very nice! Their peppermint ice cream is a dream!
We came for ice cream and pancakes for breakfast. We even got gluten free pancakes for my son and I. It was so fun and delicious! We'd like to come again just for dessert sometime.
Lovely lady! She was super friendly and let us taste all the icecream (sometimes twice) before making a decision. My husband and I both got nondairy options. He got the one scoop chocolate oreo and I got a two scoop with pineapple coconut and strawberry basil.
The icecream was sooooo fluffy and creamy. It made me very happy and my husband and I had a great time sitting outside enjoying our icecream. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Vegan and gluten free options!
Delicious treats and nice staff! So fun to have lots of gluten free choices. Who knew sheep milk would taste so good and have double the protein and vitamins?!
Just to share all the things they offer here. 100% gluten free, 100% organic, 100% vegan, 100% soy-free, 100% salt free, 100% peanut free, 100% oil free, and 100% Raw.
I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a whole plant-based raw vegan restaurant. The owners who do all the food prep and service in the restaurant truly care. It shows in the way they treat people when they walk in and in the small details like their 100% recyclable straws to the filtered water that they serve customers.
If you are unfamiliar with eating like this, it might take a little bit to get used to and to change your taste buds to like it. However, some of their food is so good I believe regular eating people would find it equal in taste to the real thing. For example, their soft serve ice cream that is 100% dairy-free and naturally sweetened by fruit or dates also their smoothies!
To my delight, they had three dairy free options and a GLUTEN-FREE WAFFLE CONE, made fresh! Thank you so much for considering the marginalized; Allergies suck.
Quick review: Not for the gluten intolerant. Overrated. I've gone here three times and have been very disappointed every time. For example, on no occasion was I able to get something chocolate that didn't have gluten in it. The first time I went, I was told that fact, and so I asked for a chocolate milkshake, which I discovered after purchasing sitting in car was made with chocolate brownie ice-cream. Duh! The last time I went was the same situation, and so I got a scoop of vanilla with chocolate syrup. The texture was really good, but the flavor was really lacking, as was the chocolate syrup. This place appears great, with really cool sounding flavors, but it just doesn't deliver.
What a fun place! There are so many options everyone will find something to love! I tried a buckwheat gluten free crepe with Nutella and bananas. It was delicious! The dole whip is perfect and nothing is done half hearted. Everything came out looking and tasting great and the staff were so friendly! There were also coloring pages and games for the kids. Great place to take the whole family!
There was this young kid working the counter when we came in and first he laughed at my wife for asking for a “regular sugar cone” and then when she asked what he was laughing about, he laughed at her again and said he knew what she meant but that “it was an odd thing to say”. And it wasn’t like laughing in the sense of like it’s a little funny, but rather the kind of laugh where you are laughing at someone’s expense. Then when I asked if the lemon bar ice cream had wheat in it he acted like I was stupid for bothering to ask, as if it’s not possible to make lemon bar ice cream without wheat. I have a gluten intolerance and often times things are not labeled as gluten free, even if they are, so I ask before ordering. The kid didn’t have to be a jerk about my asking.
I recently went to this location with my friends - the last time I went to Fifty Licks was at the Burnside location (RIP)!
This location was so cute - I loved the decor, vibe, and energy.
Lots of vegan and gluten free options
So good! And dangerously close to our house, doh! My husband is gluten free and lactose free and they have many amazing dairy free flavor options for him, most recently we both had Mayan chocolate and lavender and they were delicious together. They also offer gluten free cones! Just ask for them.

I loved it
But we did go wanting gluten free waffle cone which was advertised
They did not have it yet
I feel the front door and counter are too close for the people and lines to make room for oncoming customers
Maybe 2 people scooping
It really was nice just a few glitches
I will be going at least 2 times a week
I've been coming to BJ's for 24 years - any time I am remotely in the area. They make all their own ice creams - over 50 flavors - and the add-ins are so generous! All their flavors are gluten free unless they have obvious add-ins like cookies. So yummy!
Great environment, lots of clean and comfortable seating. So many ice cream flavors! 40 of them! Most are gluten-free. The ice cream is so rich and creamy, real ice cream! None of that fluffy fluffy floamy stuff. Great customer service, friendly employee.
PS. Wonderful bathrooms, lovely decor, clean, delightful!
