Wonderful South Indian food served by delightful, attentive, waiters.
I am not gluten intolerant but there is a distinct difference between this and other Indian restaurants. The meal does not weigh heavy afterwards. It’s very noticeable.
Try the salty lassi (lusi) and the paper dosa. It’s easy to over order but the waiters offer to bag the leftovers.
Just go. You’ll love it.
Great Indian food and everything is gluten free! Nice lunch special. Helpful staff. Very spacious restaurant with bathroom available. Easy to find street parking nearby.
All celiac. Food was fabulous. Had chicken and paneer pakora with mint, Punjabi, and mango chilli sauce. Also lentil coriander dhal with rice and chips and cheese. For 3 of us had next day leftovers. Matthew took great care of us.
Food was fantastic my wife is a coeliac, our server Alex T was very attentive and we ordered off the GF menu, we will definitely be returning.
Fabulous

We visited Dishoom in mid-April. And the food was awesome - the most authentic Indian food I've had outside of India !
However, our experience was muted by an important communication challenge. I was dining with a guest who has sensitivity to gluten. Dishoom has a clearly-marked "allergen" menu, however nobody on the restaurant floor knew enough about the ingredients in any dish to be able to guide us. Not the hostess, not the server, not the manager. They explained that the allergen menu was developed by the chefs strictly analyzing each ingredient -- and if any ingredient contained any risk of any gluten cross-contamination, then the entire dish is flagged as "containing gluten". (e.g. - so many (maybe most?) of the dishes on the menu contain no glutenous ingredients, but if a single ingredient may have been processed in a plant that also processes wheat or barley or rye, then the entire dish is labeled as unsafe for diners with gluten sensitivities.) Nobody in the restaurant was able to provide any additional information about the ingredients in any dish to help us assess the risks. This aspect of our experience was quite frustrating - and made more challenging by the very noisy dining room, which made even basic communication difficult.
We nearly left without ordering food, but we eventually chose dishes based on the listed ingredients, and our own knowledge of the cuisine.
Again - the food was amazing ... but the frustration and anxiety caused by the inability of the restaurant to communicate allergen information left the most lasting impression.
A lovely meal for our daughters graduation made even better by welcoming our little grand daughter as well. Good range of gluten free options available
*THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THE TAKEAWAY SERVICE ONLY* We started ordering from Namaste several years ago when I became coeliac, and they were the only place that provided safe Indian food in central Norwich. The food itself is generally lovely, super high quality and very tasty- although as a warning even the lowest spice level is quite high coming from someone with a medium tolerance for heat.
However the true disappointing thing about Namaste is its takeaway service. Pretty much every time we order from here there is an item missing from the order (breads, rice, sometimes a curry dish). If there isn't an item missing, the order is late. Not ten or twenty minutes late, generally well over an hour late, to the point where the food is arriving well into the evening and generally stone cold. On each occasion it is late, we phone up to ask where it is and get told "it'll be a few minutes", or fobbed off in some other way, and lo and behold no food arrives. Utterly disappointing service. Refunds and compensation are generally not offered either.
Again, this is just a review for the takeaway service, and as I gather eating in the restaurant itself is a much better experience. If you're looking for high quality Indian takeaway in Norwich, take your money elsewhere.
Amazing meal at Mowgli. It was my first visit and I loved it.
We were a group of five - three adults and two children. The adults ordered the street food sharer for the three of us, and the kids each had a chicken butter curry and rice.
Now, the food was excellent, but the restaurant was understaffed and service was really bad. I appreciate that it was mother's day and very busy. Once seated, we waited about 15 minutes to be given menus, and we were asked what drinks we wanted which we ordered. Another 15 minutes went by, no drinks had arrived, but the waitress appeared to take our food order. She also repeated our drinks orders which was strange. I think this is where things went a little stray. We ordered the street food sharer for three and two more curries and two more rice for my nephews. When all the food arrived, there were four rice rather than five, two rotis rather than three. There was still plenty of food and we weren't sure if one of the kids meals hadn't been put through or one of the sharers.
Once we finished eating it was another 15 minutes for the table to be cleared and for ice creams to arrive (you get a scoop of salted caramel with the sharer meal).
Definitely book a table in advance. There is plenty of choice for vegans and gluten free. I like the individual portions and sharing options. I didn't take many photos as I was too keen to enjoy!!
Firstly, I have coeliacs disease and was so pleased to see a wide range of gluten free options. The food portion sizes was spot on. We had 5 “tiffins” between two of us. The option for drinks was very good. To the food…it was simply bloody lovely and wished we had one near Southampton. Atmosphere and decor, again was spot on, and to make the evening even more special for my wife (who is the foodie), Nisha was also there and took the time for a photo and chat. An amazing night and a great memory.
nicely decorated and set up, good service from the staff. But the food was far from good. We had a set meal for 3 of us. it came with the smallest chapati I've ever seen (the size of a good biscuit) and there were 2 of them for 3 people. small portions. the starter was inedible and i eat anything and everything. Mains were watery in consistency.
The only large portion was a potatoes dish. I don't go to an Indian restaurant for potatoes.
Everything is gluten free, great if you can't tolerate it so maybe that's why the dishes didn't do it for me in the taste department.
Soda water very expensive, same as a coke.
Surprised there are so many top reviews. so guess its just me!

Although they say they can’t guarantee 100% free of cross contamination, most Indian curries are naturally gluten free, so as long as you stick to those, you shouldn’t have any problems. They have gluten free options on their menu and if you tell them you’re coeliac, they will let the chef know and make sure to take extra care with prep.

We cannot rate this place highly enough, the staff are amazing, the food is fantastic, and for someone who is gluten free, it is food heaven! Thanks again for another wonderful evening.
Great first time experience. Food was not only quick but delicious when it arrived. Good selection of Beer too. Venue is very accommodating for Gluten-Free diets. Served by Sadid, Eva and Mareey, all of whom were amazing for our needs.
Went for the first time yesterday with coeliac daughter, had to wait for a table as was busy but didn’t have to wait long at all. The whole experience was amazing. Daughter had a great meal and didn’t feel ‘different’ she loved it. Hubby and I had the tiffin boxes and was just divine. Had different curries in the boxes so we could share. Amaxing meal
Overall chaotic and overhyped. So we had a waiting time
for half an hour, but we were told 25 mins so that was fine. We had a look and the menu while waiting so we ordered right away. The waitress was very nice and asked about allergies. I have a gluten intolerance and they have digital menu for that, which was good but left very little choice. But that was alright. we’re two people, the first dish arrived after 25 minutes. Another 10 minutes later I got some rice but my dish was still not there, so I asked about it. They assured me it should come right out. After another few minutes the dish finally came but it was the wrong one (one that I cannot even eat because of gluten). So after waiting for 40 minutes, they brought the wrong dish… they then had to figure it all out and after another couple of minutes I got my food. The manager apologised and we did not have to pay, which is the only reason this is not a one star review.
All chaos set a side, mistakes can be made and there can be days where everything goes wrong.
Good: very nice staff, even got chai during the waiting time
Not good: the food is good but not better than any other Indian I have had. I also think the place is overhyped, it looks way cozier than it is on the pictures and it was pretty loud, because there fit more people than you would think from the pictures.
Also after my order I asked if rice is coming with the dish (as usually in Indian restaurants). Only then was I informed that there was no side dish at all, I was not even asked if I wanted a side upon ordering.
So overall not worth the hype in my opinion, regular Indian food in a nice but not overwhelming setting, but chaotic service. Not serving all dishes at the same time is an absolute no go in any restaurant.
Had a wonderful time at Fatt Pundit and offered the following:
-Guava Chilli Cocktail: Refreshing guava juice without much spice minus the salt rim
-Mango Szechuan Cocktail: Refreshing mango juice with a little spice from the szcechuan spirit but not too overwhelming
-Popcorn Cauliflower: Perfectly crisped with a delicious soya garlic sauce
-Kolkata Chilli Duck: Star of the show with very flavorful strips of duck
-Malabar Monkfish Curry: Similar to a Moilee curry and was a perfect blend of fish and light sauce; just as good as the duck!
-Burnt Ginger Rice: Recommended pairing to the Malabar Monkfish Curry
-Stir fry broccoli: Simple but still yummy broccoli dish
-Egg Szechuan Fried Rice: The only time we did not like; spicy but not very flavorful
Geet and Alex did a great job in taking our orders and making sure our gluten intolerance was taken into account. Really loved this restaurant and highly recommend anyone in London to walk-in or make a reservation ahead of time.
This place invites to a great evening with family and friends. And quite fun too, as you enjoy wonderful indian dishes while sitting on a swing (yes, you read correctly). For all in need of glutenfree food, you find lots to choose between here. A special thank you to Michael for his welcoming service and glimt in his eye. We will be back ;)
Ah Dishoom! We had a business brunch meeting, not our first, we love this place in the mornings. Bottomless chai and chocolate chai just keep appearing at your elbow, staff are so good. Other coffees and teas also excellent. I'm gluten free so the granola bowl is perfect - granola, vanilla yogurt and colourful fresh fruit always make me so happy. Everyone else went for wraps or the omelette or the bottomless porridge - something for everyone including the dairy-free folk too. We'll be back. Set over three floors, but very popular so do book

Favourite place for a takeaway or a nice meal sitting in. All mains are completely gluten free and staff are very helpful. Food is excellent and is a constant for me!
We had a wonderful experience! Our waiter, Fuhad, was very kind and helpful — he guided us in choosing gluten-free and lactose-free dishes that respected our allergies. The place is lovely and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. Five stars, highly recommended!
We had visited from Nottingham and were very lucky to find this place around the corner from the theatre. We had the Vegan Thali feast and every mouthful was sublime. Every mouthful. Shiva reassured me on the gluten free standards and was able to offer gluten free beer too. Lovely decor, friendly service and fab food. We'll be back.
Very good selection of GF options. Nothing with Gluten is cooked in the fryers either so you dns rest assured you’ll be safe. It’s a little pricey for the portions but the flavours incredible. We will be back.

Food was delicious staff very friendly and helpful. My only little issue was we ordered the sharer street food meal. It was advertised as gluten free option but we weren’t told that that the starter and bread were not gluten free. If we had known that we would have ordered differently.
Had amazing brunch at the Chakra Lounge today. Perfect comfort food. Drinks to recommend Turmeric latte and Dirty Chai Latte. Food to recommend gluten free breakfast and the Tikka eggs Benedict with mushrooms salmon and spinach on sour dough.
What a great place .First time visit with 9 people. Easy to book on line .confirmed by restaurant plus reminders during the week .Arrived on time seated on time our waiter was Ryan who looked after us throughout. Great service .Food was divine, right proportions. Flavour of food was really good and very tasty .Limited vegan and gluten food .Definitely worth going. See you soon .
We had a wonderful first experience at bandook this evening. The food is such high quality, amazing flavours and so hot and fresh. The menu has a wide variety of the dishes to choose from and everything was delicious. I have coeliac, and gluten free (and vegetarian and dairy free) items are clearly marked on the menu (large selection to choose from). The squid and duck dosa were my personal favourites, and both things you’d usually not expect to be gluten free! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning! Thank you for such a lovely meal!
Really lovely restaurant, with a sparkling atmosphere. The food was delicious with an extensive gluten free menu. All the gluten free dishes were very nice and the variety was great.
Would definitely eat here again. It’s so great to see a gluten free menu displayed outside alongside the other menus.
The view was perfect, the food was tasty, and the prices reasonable. I would go back again. I was particularly grateful for the clearly marked gluten free menu!
