This is a fun place to go with great gluten free options for Italian food. My server had celiac disease and was very knowledgeable. I have been here a few times and not had any problems here.
Wanted to love it but…we both got sick
My husband ordered the lasagna. It was mushy and covered in sauce, when my husband scraped off the sauce topping it revealed a black top layer that was disgusting and left us both feeling queasy and wondering just how long that lasagna had been in the walk-in.
If you are celiac, I wouldn’t trust the gf pasta here. I had a reaction after dining here last night that left me wondering if the gf pasta was boiled in cross contaminated water 🤷🏻♀️ The noodles were over cooked and not that great even before my belly swole to the size of an 8 month pregnancy.
In retrospect, this is a kitchen nightmare and we wouldn’t have been surprised if Gordon Ramsay popped out around the corner while we were dining there. That being said the front of the house was nice and handled our complaint professionally.
We had reservations so we were seated quickly. We each had a drink which was wonderful. Our server was kind, but we were given takeout boxes for our entrees and the check upon receiving our food without time to enjoy our meal. The gluten free options are limited, and the pasta was a bit of a let down.
Love Brixx. Since my discovery in 2023, I've been 6 times when I've been around the Raleigh area. I have Celiac, and they have 2 types or GF crust. I have not had a problem. The servers are well educated and helpful in ordering. The price is a lot for the size, and until there is a big shake up in the restaurant industry, as a gluten-free diner, we know we pay extra to stay safe. The wings go well with the pizza, too.
As someone who eats strictly gluten-free, I’m so happy I found Pizza and Pints! I tried their gluten-free crust and was seriously impressed — it was crispy, flavorful, and held up perfectly under all the toppings (which were super fresh, by the way).
I also had one of their salads and it was just as good — fresh greens, great dressing, and great portions. It’s clear they take dietary needs seriously without sacrificing taste or quality.
The staff was really knowledgeable about gluten-free options and made sure everything was safe, which I really appreciated.
Whether you’re gluten-free or not, this place is worth checking out. Great food, cool atmosphere, and top-notch service. I’ll definitely be back!
I have always loved this place they meet gluten and vegetarian digestions. Their menu is short yet diverse and they change it on a regular basis. The quality of food is good. However, the portions can be on the smaller side, but is plenty enough for me not likely to have any to take home
Confession: we grew up west of the Mississipi, where Italian food was limited to Chef Boy-ar-dee. Wife is gluten intolerant. It gives me gastric reflux. Yuk. We nearly starved on a recent trip to Italy.
There are perhaps two salads on the menu, here, that we can eat, nothing else. The Greek (not Italian) salad was good. We're not into the Caesar salad- dressing is off-putting.
The good news: there's a Yemeni grocery store in the same strip center with outstanding Middle Eastern foods available. Go there instead.
The food and service were both fantastic! The location was also great, as was the ambiance of the restaurant.
Their menu has a lot of great gluten free and vegetarian options to choose from as well. If you go during lunch, like we did, you'll hand to order a dinner sized portion of the pasta as your gluten free option. They typically have gluten free penne pasta, but today it was fusilli (which is actually my preference). I got my dish with the creamy basil pesto, mushrooms and broccoli. It was delicious! So much food that I could only eat about 1/4 of it, so I'll be enjoying leftovers.
At night the also offer gluten free pizza crust for an upcharge. So I'll think I'll have to come back during dinner one night to try it.
My only complaint is their online menu doesn't denote any of this. It just lists that most dishes can be made to accommodate gluten intolerance. So I had to call to ask for more in-depth information regarding what that meant.
Other than that, it was a fabulous experience!
I don’t usually seek out Italian but I’m so glad I came here. It’s a family run place, with super authentic food and amazing staff. I got gluten free pizza and they also have gluten free pasta. Prices are wonderful.
Amazing experience here! They have gluten free pasta and are very aware of cross contamination and how to avoid in their kitchen. Food was delicious and ambiance was unmatched!
I can only speak on the food itself as I ordered this through GrubHub but let me just tell you this is the best gluten-free pizza I've had in all of Raleigh. You have to try it. It's amazing!!!
Went here for the first time and wasn’t expecting much but it was GREAT. My spouse is Italian and very picky and also enjoyed it. We’ve tried lots of Italian places in Raleigh area and this is the best. Excited to bring my friends with dietary needs here as well because apparently they also have gluten free options
I’m very picky about my Alfredo (for some reason most restaurants have such bland Alfredo) but their Cajun pasta with Alfredo was very flavorful. The penne vodka is their most popular dish for good reason and also very flavorful. I also enjoyed their steak and cheese during lunch
Amazing food! My party shared the fried ravioli and bruschetta which was really delicious and I had the gluten free baked ziti. Everything was cooked well and the sauces for everything were delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I will be coming back and highly recommend this spot for Italian food.
We live two hours away, but found Vic’s on a random evening last year before a hurricanes game and decided to stop in. So glad we did! Food is always delicious and fast. Service staff (especially Bennett) are super friendly and knowledgeable. Penne alla vodka and pizza are always a hit. I have a gluten allergy and they have always been very accommodating of it as well! It absolutely worth the time to stop in for dinner We are loyal long distance customers of Vic’s!
Mulino is a fantastic dining spot and beautiful atmosphere! The food was excellent, and we appreciated their gluten-free pasta option. Our waiter, Taft, was outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and wonderfully engaging with our three kids. He truly elevated the experience. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service!
We met friends for dinner this past Friday night. We wanted to especially mention Chris M., our waiter. He was the perfect waiter...always there when you needed him but not hovering. He seemed to just time it beautifully. Also, Chris is great about describing the dishes and helped our friend pick the perfect gluten free meal. The food was fantastic, as always....starting with the appetizer and ending with dessert.
Thank you for coming to North Hills we enjoy your restaurant immensely.
So I’ve heard good things about this place for a couple of years and my daughter asked to go for pizza. I need gluten free meals so we called in advance to ask and they do have pizza crust and pasta that is GF. When we got seated no one came up right away to take drink orders. Then a waitress finally said let me check who is going to take your table. We got another waitress who took our drink order shortly after that but our drinks didn’t appear for a while. All the other tables seemed to have drinks and food. When she finally brought the drinks I told her we would order food since we had her attention. It was an hour now and no food. We ordered a large pizza for our kids, a gluten free pizza and salad. The other waitress told me she saw I looked confused and would check on our food after more time passed. Our waitress came out after some more time with a salad and said our other food was coming soon. Then 25 more minutes passed as we saw tables who came in after us get their food and finish up, etc. The other waitress told us again she would check on our food and she was sure it was coming. Finally my gluten free pizza came out first BUT it wasn’t what I ordered. I was super disappointed since it’s been almost 2 hours now. Our waitress offered to make us a new one but honestly I didn’t have two more hours to wait and sit there. We just told her please bring out our kid’s pizza because they are very hungry. They did. She kept apologizing but then brought the check with no discount, etc. Not sure how this place will bring me back for a second time at this point. We are nice people so we still tipped a little bit but would have been nice to admit what happened there. Hopefully their service gets better.
