The Jungle Cafe is one of those places that nourishes you on all levels. Tasty, clean, fresh, healthy food in a warm, natural and inviting environment. Great smoothies, juices, sandwiches, salads, main courses, vegan and gluten free deserts — even hot cacao! The buffet has a wide selection and features rotating cultural themes daily (Mexican, Indian, Polish, etc.). Do yourself and your community a favor by supporting this great local establishment!
PS — It’s also a great place to get some reading or work done, or meet up with friends.
The gluten free pizza was very chewy - the flavor of margherita was not good, very bland; the tre foliage was very salty, but not flavorful. Won’t come back again
Love this place! The staff is very friendly and the decor has a homey vibe to it - a nice contrast to generic cafes. The cold brew is very strong and I love the size of their ice. The pandebono is a must try!! I got three today. If you haven’t tried it’s a gluten free cheese bread that is incredible eaten warm.
There's only a couple of gluten free options on the menu, which makes ordering very limiting. The few things we could order were good.
Great space, service, and atmosphere.
Esme is a quaint place to have a brunch or early dinner. the service was great the the restaurant was VERY comfortable. They have a wonderful drink menu and gluten free options. will be returning and the ambiance is just delightful.
Really nice new spot. The menu is different than most other Thai places I’ve been to (in a good way!) Really interesting and yummy options. I love how many vegan options there were and how clearly Vegan/Vegan optional and Gluten Free options were labeled!
I got the curry shroom balls and mocktail Ma Muang which were amazing!
Great atmosphere, and lovely staff. We’ll be coming back. Happy to have you in Greenpoint!
We ordered the funghi and gluten free cheese pizzas. Both were very good and much more reasonably priced than nearby pizza shops. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Panzón is all around amazing – I travel in Mexico frequently and they're serving up some of the best Mexican food I've had in the states. Their menu is always evolving to incorporate new things which is great, and the majority of items are gluten friendly. Specific things I love: the avocado marg is one of the tastiest drinks I've ever had (sounds weird BUT IT ISN'T), the tuna tostada is straight out of CDMX, the enchiladas rival Casa Enrique, and the gorditas are unspeakably good. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how legit the entire staff is – every single person working here is kind, cool, and skilled. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS SPOT, if you haven't already been here you're doing yourself a disservice.
If you want some legit Polish food with all the right flavors definitely check out Pierozek! sooo Yummy :) We visited at the beginning of 2024 during the week, around 3PM for late lunch. There was no wait and we got seated right away (party of 3). I did notice the place started filling up closer to 5PM so idk how crowded it gets closer to dinner. I tried Barszcz - strong, yummy flavors, deep red color - definitely the real deal and the seasoning was spot on! A cup of barszcz from Pierozek is a perfect remedy for cold weather, flu season and just overall feeling blah - it warms you up and makes you feel soo good and healthy :) Sauerkraut and mushroom Krokiety were my favorite - they were fluffy, amazing flavors and I seriously want to try to recreate them at home since we are not local and I am craving them right now. I had many krokiety in my life and make them at home at least a couple times a year but Pierozek has some secret recipe that makes them perfectly fluffy (which btw is not that easy when using sauerkraut since they can easily become dense and wet). The ratio of crepe to filling was perfect. My husband tried meat krokiety - also yum. We also tried pierogi - I had Jalapeno pierogi that had a great little jalapeno punch and yummy delicate pierogi dough. My husband tried the Savory Pierogi mix and Cheddar ones were his favorite. The menu has something for everyone from vegan, vegetarian, gluten free through meat heavy dishes and polish beer. I highly recommend it!
This place is truly a local Jewel on Newel street. It strikes there perfect balance of tradition and modernity. The food is all freshly made with love and care, you can surely taste the dedication. The casual milk-bar style dining popularized during Soviet era Poland is nostalgically revived accompanied by traditional Polish art and decorative motifs on the walls and fixtures. The selection of regional foods is exciting with considerable vegan and gluten free options. The staff and owners are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place. It’s great for takeout and sit down though your food will taste better if you eat it fresh and enjoy the Polish atmosphere.
