The best gluten free pizza I've ever had! I've been let down so many times by both local and chain pizza places. Most gluten free pizzas are too dense, taste like vegetables (when there aren't any in the pizza), and/or too thin which is usually burnt. Pizza Wizard offers a thick and fluffy gluten free pizza crust that my pizza loving, non-gluten free partner even thought was great! Highly recommend.
When family and friends visit us in Rochester, we typically go to the Owl House because it offers so many dietary options. We have vegans, vegetarians, gluten-free, and meat eaters. No matter who we take, we always leave super satisfied, bellies full of amazing food and drinks. Even though we've visited The Owl House at least 6 or 7 times in the two years since we've moved to the Roc, this is the first time I knew I HAD to leave a review. We've always had great service, but Willow is by far one of, if not THE best server I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I was a server for years, and game recognizes game. She was funny, her timing was perfect, but her suggestions? I typically order steaks, pasta, or seafood dishes. This girl had me ordering pork chops for dinner, and it was the best pork chop I've ever had! Absolutely amazing! She made our evening out with our PA family perfect. I highly recommend checking this place out if you haven't already, the atmosphere, the food, the service, the menu options...it's all there.
Love this place! I’m a vegetarian, and my spouse is vegetarian and has a gluten allergy, and the Red Fern was able to accommodate with no issue whatsoever. We even had our choice of bakery items to choose from, which is practically unheard of. Only downfall is the staircase to enter, so it’s not particularly accessible, but they do have plenty of outdoor seating on the ground level.
My husband and I have been coming here for brunch every weekend for a few years now. The food is always delicious and the staff is incredible! Lots of options for different dietary restrictions (one happy vegetarian/gluten free gal here- and celiac safe!) and we never leave disappointed. His favorite go-to meal is the mad hatter plate and I love the garden scramble and potatoes with the rabbits way hollandaise sauce. Highly recommend it here! No reservations so be prepared for a wait time but it is WORTH IT!

I just cannot say enough good things about this place, it’s one of the best tasting restaurants we have been too. The burrata small plate was amazing, the home cut fries were so good, everything was great. The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere was so cute. We are so glad we picked this restaurant, a definite must try. Also they had a wide variety of gluten free options which was super nice for our son.
This is a great place for a quick bite.
As the name suggests, the place is geared towards making your own pizza, which can be fun.
If you have a hard time making decisions, fear not, since they also have pizza combinations suggested for the guest as well.
The menu offers vegan and gluten free options.
The staff are friendly, and prices are reasonable.
What an awesome place. Ordered their catering for an early Christmas Party. The food was phenomenal. And with the help of Anthony I was even able to accommodate a couple of Gluten sensitive guests. Really pleased with everything. Thanks very much.
Wonderful service and great space! Our waiter was so nice and knowledgeable. Not to mention their house made Buffalo sauce is one of the most amazing flavors I have ever tasted. My husband has celiac and we were able to order a delicious gluten free meal. Their gf pizza crust is amazing! We will definitely be back over and over.
I love this place. It's been several years since they opened and the pizza is still as good as it was then. My go to pizza: white sauce, feta, mozzarella, spinach, chicken, artichoke, roasted tomatoes, with a basil herb after bake is so yummy. They even have gluten free pizza. Highly recommend!
Master Falafel does not get enough credit. They have tons of gluten free, vegan, and vegetarians options and there food is always delicious. Their falafel is perfect. Staff is always nice and you can tell they take pride in what they do.
Wow. Just wow!!! As someone with a serious gluten allergy and a love for pizza, it has truly been a sad life not getting to experience fresh pizza at an actual pizzeria. Other spots offer GF pizza and it's always a pre-made frozen crust. This IS REAL, FRESH DOUGH. And speaking of dough, the GF fried dough was PERFECT. I have not had fried dough in 20 years since being diagnosed with this allergy so this nearly made me cry! It was so good! There is only 1 table inside, super casual, and it isjust perfect. Excellent service. Great quality food. I drove 2 hours round trip for Purple Monster and it was so worth it. Can't wait for my next visit!!
Had Salenas delivered for dinner and it was delicious. So fresh and tasty. It was so easy to find food I could eat (gluten free dairy free) and it tastes amazing. I also love being able to order margaritas to go!! 5 stars!
Great:
-Canolli pancakes! And yes, they are delicious!
-Good-sized menu with plenty of options, even for my gluten-free wife
-Above average selections/options in condiments and extras like jellies, jams, coffee creamer, etc.
Average:
-The interior is average breakfast diner. Not bad at all, but nothing that stands out.
-It can get quite crowded at times you would expect, like Sunday morning. But they do a good job of moving things along. Wait times were very tolerable.
-Service. I thought of adding this to the great section, because anymore even average service seems great. Wait staff was friendly and orders came out quickly and correctly. As I mentioned, sometimes you had to wait a bit but you could tell staff was hustling along. No one was being lazy here.
- Some of the prices seemed a little high but were actually good considering the portion sizes. The canolli pancakes are an example but they were enough for 2.5 meals, so maybe not pricey in the end.
We will definitely come back whenever we are visiting our kid at RIT.
Highly recommend, particularly for anyone with food allergies or Celiac Disease. Our little one has Celiac and a milk protein allergy. The first thing the server asks you when you are seated is if anyone has food allergies. They have separate gluten-free prep and cook areas, and a separate fryer, so there's no cross-contamination. All of our son's food was brought out by a manager who oversaw everything and had a wooden "allergy" flag sticking out of the food. The food and service were great too! We'll be coming back!
I have Celiac disease and this is a restaurant I have not gotten sick from eating at. They are super knowledgeable and every server can tell you what’s safe and what’s not.
It’s one of the few places I feel safe eating at!!
Mood Burger Bar is my new favorite spot!
From the moment we walked in, the vibe was perfect—chill atmosphere, great music, and super cool decor that instantly put us in a good mood (no pun intended). The burgers were insanely good—juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. And don’t even get me started on the milkshakes… they’re next-level fun and absolutely delicious. I love that you can turn any milkshake into a boozy one. The variety of flavors is amazing.
I got a Cookie Monster shake with a shot of vanilla vodka and the hangover burger with garlic parm fries which was 10/10
My boyfriend got a Mood burger which he also rated it a 10/10
And my son got a signature shake which he devoured!
Our waiter, Ken, was awesome—super friendly, helpful, and really made the whole experience even better. I already know I want to spend my birthday here this summer. It’s the kind of place where you can kick back, enjoy great food and drinks, and just have a good time.
Can’t wait to go back!
(There are also amazing options for Vegans and gluten free folks!)
Lento is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in the area. The food is incredible, the service is stellar, and we have always left happy with our experience. I also appreciate they have gluten free options as I have an autoimmune condition.
Our favorite by far. 10+ visits
Update - leaving my review made me crave this place but sadly they dropped the ball bad. We accidently ordered 40 minutes before closing thinking they were open until 9 instead of 8:30. That is the only excuse I can really think of but honestly there is no excuse to rush food and tarnish your reputation. The chana Masala wasn't even the same color and tasted as if it were missing an ingredient. The naan was floppy. Mixed tandoori grill was lightly grilled. When j asked for a gluten free sub for naan they gave me naan and charged me for a side of papadum. They managed to whip this out in 10 minutes flat and when I got there at 8:20 they were shutting lights off and barreling out the door.
They have a HUGE selection of fresh homemade bagels and flavors of cream cheese!! It was overwhelming trying to choose what to get! For $3.75 I got a toasted French toast bagel with raspberry jalapeño cream cheese. She agreed to put butter on it first and then cream cheese! my fav 😋 The bagel was fresh and slightly cinnamony, and the raspberry jalapeño cream cheese was delightfully sweet with a mild kick of an aftertaste. I didn’t get any menu pictures but oh boy I gotta go back to try the other flavors. Maple bacon?? Pumpkin? Salmon? Yes pls. They also have gluten free bagels and vegan cream cheese and pastries!
Sydney was a joy to have as a server. 😍She even upgraded us right on the spot! We moved from some sad little 4 top, no offense but I could barely squeeze around it!! 🤣🤣🤣, to a LOVELY corner booth for our comfort!! She kept our fries COMING IN HOT!!! 🔥🔥🔥
We were having a fun little girls night out and she just made. it. BETTER! 🤩🤩🤩 She noted all our little allergies, gluten alert ‼️ 🚨🚨 All the food was delicious! Couldn't have asked for a better experience! 🤪🤪🤪 Thank you SO MUCH SYDNEY for a LOVELY night! 😍😍
Beautiful restaurant with great table service. The only place that we feel safe ordering gluten free dishes. Equally, their takeout food is scrumptious.
Quaint little child-friendly spot offering good drinks and good food. However, if you plan on ordering food, you better have some time on your hands. It is not uncommon, from our experience, for food orders to take upwards to 50-60 minutes. Last time we ordered, it took 48 minutes for us to get two wraps that didnt even require any ingredients to be cooked. No explanation, no apology. The gluten-free wrap was in pieces and required a knife and fork (see image). Once again, everything is always delicious, but the speed of service is occasionally mind-boggling.
Normally we enjoy a great meal but this particular experience was not good for a diner in our party with a gluten allergy. She ordered a meal that included gluten free pasta and when it came, the pasta was barely cooked, and it was returned to the kitchen. When it came back the pasta was cooked a bit more but still not cooked enough to enjoy. She ended up having to take it home and finish cooking the pasta herself.
This place is my ABSOLUTE favorite! The food and the vibe is wonderful. And Tammy who was our server, is a just the best!! Also, their gluten free pasta taste’s like real pasta!! Highly recommend!!!
Dinner was fantastic. We had a change of dinner plans for a group of 9, and they sat us in 15 minutes. The service was excellent; our waitress took such good care of us, and we got our food quickly. We also needed gluten-free options and were very impressed with how knowledgeable the staff was in accommodating our needs. Highly recommend this place for both the service and the food quality!

Tapas 177 is such an incredible restaurant in every single way from food to drinks to service to the vibe. This review is about catering!! We worked with Chris Z who is an absolutely phenomenal person. Chris helped us pick out our menu and coordinated everything with us — all the way down to mentioning changes in texture from our usual restaurant experience to general effects of transport/time! Everything was delivered on time and set up perfectly. Even better, it was DELICIOUS and EVERYONE was extremely happy with the options!!! One thing Tapas 177 does exceptionally well is dietary restrictions. They’re very clear about risks with shared fryers but also take great care to label things. The variety on the menu allowed for us to cater gluten free and vegan without settling for things we weren’t interested in. Variety!!! So sorry to my future children but eating a mountain of Tapas 177 spring rolls with my wife on our wedding day is impossible to top. Thank y’all so much!!!!!
They are really good about gluten free. I was told the owner found out he has celiac 4 days after opening the store. They use clean equipment and are knowledgeable
Id give 5 but they run out of gluten-free stuff and that's the main reason we go Joanna and Brianna are great wait staff they pamper my 92 year old Dad. The food is usually great too.
Great place! There was no wait on a Tuesday night but they were busy. Food was great! I had chicken Parmesan, daughter had pork chops had to be gluten free and they were able to accommodate. Service was great. Food was quick coming out. Desserts were great!!!! Everything was really good. Only complaint was the table was sticky. I don't think it was dirty but it was sticky. Other than that great!! Look forward to going back!
My family and I went there today, we got the nacho extreme, the pretzel, french onion soup and the gluten free meal. Amazing is the only thing I could say !
I used to have the most amazing experiences here, never had any issues. However I went here for Valentine’s Day and my pasta definitely tasted like regular pasta (if you know, you know). I asked the waitress to check with the cook and since we were sitting right by the kitchen, we saw the chef get mad because they had just closed the kitchen and he didn’t want to make a new meal and said to “just tell her it’s gluten free”. I brought this up to management with no response, so I won’t be returning here sadly.
I'm so boring- I've been getting the exact same thing here for the past 5+ years lol. Gluten free pad thai w/ tofu (with sriracha on the side). Sooooo yummy :)
Phenomenal food. My friend I was dining with is gluten free, and they were able to accommodate his needs well. Our waitress clearly communicated what substitutions were available for each option, and what to expect. The cappuccinos are phenomenal, and the desserts are to die for.
Loved this place the first time I went. I went to order a chicken bowl online and I have Celiac Disease, meaning I cannot have anything with gluten, which pita has. Unbeknownst to be, their chicken bowls have pita on them without the menu on their website saying so. Will not be coming back if they can't even list all the items on their menu properly.
The food was good, and I'm glad they have gluten-free bread as an option without additional charge. nice soda machine, lots of sauces! One star removed on atmosphere because the place was freezing cold!
Let me just say, if you need all the options for dietary needs, this is the spot. We used Cinellis to cater our grad party. We had guests begging to take food home with them it was so good. The gluten free chicken parm was to die for. Even non celiac guests ate it and loved it. They had plenty of vegan and gluten free options to choose from as well as all the other food we ordered. Carly was so helpful and informative in helping me decide how much food I needed to get. She was patient while I changed my mind multiple times, never once showing any signs of inconvenience. The food was ready when promised and everything was just perfect. If you are having an event, I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed!
