Food is amazing! Servers are friendly and truly want you to have the best time. The most funny part is the menu having The Local and The Tourist - it’s the same meal but the tourist is $2 more :). Alcoholic drinks available. Gluten free pancakes! Pregnant me was in heaven.
Oh also the waiter takes the check… I was not observant and took it to the front which was super embarrassing.
Our waiter Tony was amazing!
Gluten free options. I was told to come here but to be honest, it isn’t anything special. Definitely over priced for what we got. The poor server was the only one and she seemed to have the whole restaurant. She was very kind. food was meh. not memorable.
We ordered takeout here twice last week (so can’t comment on the service or atmosphere really), but the pizza here is awesome.
Also for those celiacs out there, my wife said the gluten free pizza was amongst the best she’s had (and she didn’t get sick). Pro-tip… the mozzarella sticks here are 50% cheaper and significantly better than the other options in lionshead. Our 4 year old refuses to eat anything else at the moment, so we sampled about 4-5 different options of these while we were there, and this was easily the best option.
We had a group of 7 and our waitress, Sigi, handled our orders expertly. Everything we ordered was excellent and timed perfectly. She recommended the Christmas punch and espresso chai martini, which were creative and delicious. She explained the menu well and all the recommendations were spot On. I was excited to find out they offered a half portion of fondue and the best , gluten free bread I have ever had. We were all impressed by the excellent wine selection. They were out of Amarone and the Sommelier brought out a wonderful 2018 Barolo for the same price. We all agreed this was our favorite dining experience since being in Vail for a week.
I went here 2 mornings before skiing and had a great experience. The gluten free breakfast sandwich was perfect before skiing, they had a great tea selection, and even had gluten free coffee cake that I took up the mountain for a ski snack later in the day!
Best coffee, and they even had gluten dairy soy free baked goods the best I've ever purchased and didn't get sick from, and I'm super sensitive to cross contamination. Thank you so much!
Responding to my husband’s comments because the establishment didn’t actually read his complaints.
I have celiacs disease. The waitress had no idea what on the menu could be provided gluten free. I had annotated celiacs on our reservation. This is our first Michelin where the waitress had no idea what could be prepared gluten free.
Our appetizer was good.
The broccoli in my plate contained 3 weeks worth of my daily recommended sodium.
My husbands pork was undercooked and he was never asked how he would like it prepared. So yes, we do expect more from a Michelin than from Applebees.
The only person who came to talk to us said he was new to the management position. My husband told him that in 14 Michelin restaurants this year, this is the only one where we would not return. I am not sure if it gets more clear than this. To be clear, we were perfectly willing to talk, but no questions were asked.
We would have let our complaint die here, but given your poor response, we reported it to Michelin, and will encourage all the other one star reviews to do the same.
This place is spectacular, the atmosphere is as if you were in the 90s (in a good way) the breakfasts are well served and they have bread options (even gluten free) I am attaching some images of the breakfasts that my wife and I ordered. Only one day when we went, my wife's omelet was overcooked but they removed it from the bill without any problem. They have very good service.
would give negative stars if possible. came in on 10/17 around 8:15 pm. by far the absolute worst customer service i have ever experienced. the lady in her 40’s with brown hair & a pony tail has the worst attitude and should pick a career that stays far far away from people. she was rude, unhelpful, and didn’t even give us correct change back. if you own this business, do yourself a favor and hire someone else. to anyone thinking about going here, i recommend you spend your money elsewhere unless you prefer to be treated like an inconvenience. the gluten free pizza is also trash.
Delicious, celiac and kid friendly restaurant! We had filet mignon, salmon and another type of steak and gelato. Grest portion size. Really delicious. Staff were great. Place has a fun design. Tons of families. And a first-class chic bowling alley in the back.
My server assured me that most of the menu was GF so I went with the blue tamale and Brussels sprouts. The food was good, very rich. I think that having a note about how much of the menu is or can be made GF would go along way or even GF labels for those of us with medical allergies (I am a Celiac). The server said there was no need to note for the kitchen my gluten allergy to avoid cross-contamination since it was already GF. Therefore I am taking away two stars for this since I don’t think the restaurant truly understands the reality of having a food-related medical situation many have. It’s very stressful going out to eat and knowing that the kitchen understand in prep by noting an allergy helps one’s stress level and being able to be present and enjoy oneself.
We enjoyed our lunch at El Segundo. We sat outside on the deck with a nice view of Gore Creek. They easily accommodated our gluten restrictions. We started with nachos which were generous with lots of yummy toppings. For the second course, we each enjoyed a taco. The tacos were all creative and flavorful. Our cocktails were also nice. Will definitely visit again!
Amazing family-owned pizza place. We called ahead to find out how their gluten-free pizza is prepared and were told there is a separate preparation area! What a rarity! As a celiac, I am often wary of eating out because of the risk of having a reaction from cross-contamination. This fantastic family addressed my concerns and ensured I was fully aware of the whole process.
The gluten-free pizza was amazing, piled high with lots of toppings. I didn't have a reaction, and I will be coming here again!
This is hands down the best Indian / Nepalian food in Colorado! Love this best and come here every single time I’m in town.
Their cheese Naan is by far the best I’ve ever had. Put some of the Chicken Massala juice over the rice and you will be in heaven. I can’t recommend this spot enough!
Gluten free options as well if you ask. Great service and a nice fun Indian ambiance mixed with the nepalian mountain feel.
Don’t let the inconspicuous location (for Vail standards) fool you. This place is legit and the food is awesome.
Also important to note - my wife is a celiac and had zero problems with the GF Pad Thai, which is bonus points in my book.
An interactive meal with such fun food pairings like fondue, pretzels and mustard, and fantastic cocktails. A great place for after the slopes to warm up or with larger groups. Highly recommend the winter curry, gluten-free, dairy free and vegan! The atmosphere transports you into another world! Every trip we come here!
We had two great meals here - one at lunch time and one during dinner time. The caviar tater tots are a must try and were on both menus! The food was delicious and they’re very knowledgeable about gluten allergies.
This felt like such a hidden gem in Vail! The atmosphere was super fun, and everyone was incredibly friendly. And of course the food was delicious! I have a gluten allergy, and they were wonderful with accommodating it.
The hours were wrong when we went. They stayed open a lot longer than what was posted online. The staff was friendly. We ate outside, which was nice. The indoor dining was not available, which was fine. The view is nice, the staff is nice. My son was not a fan of the burger. The grilled cheese was good. The Cobb salad was fine. Would not recommend the nachos.
They do have a few gluten-free options, although a Cobb Salad was the best dinner choice for that. I noticed a lot of vegetarian options. They have a nice drink list, but none of us drank anything that night. They did refill water quickly, which was nice. Great staff.
We had a fabulous dining experience at Mountain Standard. An experiences that we will talk about for years to come. The menu is creative and they easily accommodated our gluten restrictions. We ordered the Iberian Duroc Pork Rack … which is served family style and can easily feed three people. The blue corn hushpuppies were amazing! And the apricot mostada complimented the pork beautifully. We also shared the Rotisserie Jerk Chicken. Everything was delicious! Unfortunately the roasted yams were not gluten free. Highly recommend!
I don’t envy any business owner trying to operate a “snob magnet” business like a coffee shop in snob capital of the world.
For us normal folks, we found the coffee to be really solid all around. Yes it’s expensive, but I can’t imagine what the rent and hourly wages are in a location like this, so I blame Vail more broadly for that than anything.
Also, wherever they source their gluten free pastries from…. The GF coffee cakes were unreal. Can’t really recommend the other pastry options because the freshness just isn’t there for a single donut that costs $5.
Ultimately, this serves the exact purpose it should serve - a highly convenient, walkable coffee option
Our waitress was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. After I explained I have celiac, she made sure everything I ordered was gluten free and made sure the kitchen was as careful as they could have been.
Best place for tacos & burritos in Colorado! Amazing prices, amazing service, amazing ambiance and of course, amazing food! It’s a food truck that is next level and has outdoor seating but it’s also attached to the vail brewery.
$3 Tacos!
Whether you’re with family or with friends I highly recommend coming here! You will not regret it!
They also use corn so the tacos and chips are gluten free.
