So good! American vegan food blows my mind. I loved the macaroni salad, crispy tofu roll, gluten free cake cup and am excited to try the brownie tomorrow.
This place is ace. Excellent Mexican-American food, from burritos to the all-important taco. I highly recommend the barbacoa bowl or taco.
They're also attentive to gluten free needs /celiac customers. Although not a dedicated facility, they boxed and labeled our celiac (gf/df) orders separately and noted which orders were allergy on the receipt.
Our server, Victoria, was extremely helpful with gluten allergies and very nice and accommodating! Also the flan special was fantastic! It’s rare to find a place with a gluten free dessert! Hope it becomes more than just an occasional special in the future :)
Had a great experience here. I came on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn’t too busy or loud, experienced great customer service and had some lovely cocktails. Would definitely return. The guac and salsa were so good!
I came here with someone who is gluten free and they had a great selection of options too.
They are one of better Mexican places in the area. The food is a little pricey, but your do get great quality and selection. Especially for gluten free and vegetarian options, they even have cactus dishes which a rare find for Mexican food in the area. We have dined here a few times and the service has been spectacular even when busy. L
I came in for Sunday brunch as my first stop while visiting Providence for the day. I was excited for both chilaquiles and masa pancakes as someone with a gluten allergy, but they were sadly out of the masa pancakes by the time we arrived around 11:30. The salsa verde on my chilaquiles was pleasantly spicy and tasted fresh. My partner ordered huevos con chorizo. He remarked that the housemade chorizo was excellent. Service was prompt, food came out quickly, and we were able to fuel ourselves for a very reasonable price.
Bike Stop is fabulous, the outside area has beautiful perennials, the stone pizza oven is a unique work of art not to be missed, and the gluten-free pizza is best we’ve ever had! All six of us enjoyed our meals. Great food, Great Service! Good local brew served.Kudos to Narragansett for supporting this local gem!
Catering experience- awesome! Our association hosted an event at the local elementary school. We wanted to do a taco bar. Reached out to a bunch of places and things were really costly and could not be customized to meet our needs. Called Tio Mateo’s, immediately got catering information, menu accommodated gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan diets. Pricing was reasonable, service was kind and quick. Best part- everyone loved the food! It was a big hit. Will definitely work with them again!
Went here as it showed up on my Gluten Free app as a safe and tasty option. It was both!

Lovely little mom and pop vibing comfort food place. Freshly made pupusas the size of my kid's face, fantastic mofongo, smells like heaven inside (as long as you accept there's garlic in heaven).
Prices range from a la carte pupusas and tacos at $3 each (with a delicious spicy non mayo coleslaw on the side for pupusas), up to $18 for mofongo with shrimp and tostones.
There was a lot of shrimp on the plates, and it was all beautifully seasoned. I also got the homemade passion fruit drink and it was LUSCIOUS.
They also have some picky kid friendly options like nuggets and fries, which is what my daughter's friend got.
Mellow soothing decor choices, comfy booths, a friendly proprietor and delicious food leads to a winning combination.
i love south asian food and i am so happy there's a new spot in federal hill for it. i ordered the chicken tikka bowl and the mini samosas. the place is sooo clean and i love their decor like their little high top seating has marble counters. they were playing covers of my favorite bollywood music and it created a whole mood. the food tastes so fresh and so seasoned but because they build your bowl with you, you can alter spice and taste levels. the servers are SO kind. they loved taking questions and sharing more information about their kitchen set-up and how they make everything from scratch. you can see them cooking while you order and eat. it's so gluten friendly too. this is a great place to bring friends with different dietary tastes or needs. i put both kinds of rice and salads on my bowl, and picked the cilanter coolada sauce which tastes like mint parsley chutney. the mini samosas were the perfect crunchy accompaniment and sooo flavorful in their little bites. the tamarind chili is like a sweet and spicy sauce to dip into. i can't wait to come back and also to cater them for my college student events.
Best Mexican food in Providence by a long shot! Lots of options for gluten-free people and vegetarians. Friendly family atmosphere and wonderful waitstaff. Cocktails from their rotating menu are a must try!
So professional I’m impressed - this store is the elite - our guy who made our food was so pleasant. My teenage daughter has Celiac and asked if he could change his gloves, he was so kind, thanked her for letting him know and he more than exceeded our expectations. He wiped the whole counter space down and washed his hands up to his elbows, he made my daughter’s food start to finish, AND he didn’t use the food containers from the front - he went to the walk in and got the new food containers (for toppings). This was the best experience I’ve ever had at a Chipotle and the food was excellent, store also looked extremely clean. If I could give more stars I would.
Date of Visit: 2/22/23 -
The service was horrible that evening.
My wife has a gluten allergy, she informed them. She was asked to validate her clam by answering more questions.
They did not do the standard change over, seen in other locations when informed of an allergy.
When asking for Chips and Quac was told it was close to closing they were not making any more. They still had 3 hours and 15 minutes until closing, according to posted hours. She was also charged for sour cream. She did not order extra, just ask to put it on the side.
They could not give her change from the purchase (did not have any) Could not provide her a printed receipt (They don’t have Receipt paper.) This location was not ready for business. updated note: corporate reached out to me and asked me to contact them about my experience. I did in less than 24 hours. So I shared the same information on their own website, and corporate never contacted me.
I was enticed by fresh homemade tortillas, but all of the food fell flat. Our server suggested that every person order at least 2 tacos. As someone with a gluten allergy who was avoiding meat that day, I only had the choice of the mushroom taco... so I had to double up on that one. My vegetarian friend ordered the 2 options available to him, the mushroom and cauliflower. My partner ordered carne asada and al pastor. I did not enjoy or finish my mushroom tacos. My friend said the cauliflower tempura tasted oily and lacked seasoning. My partner, who is not very picky, said his were alright. We also ordered elote, which was fine but nothing special (the server called it out specifically when making recommendations), and guacamole, which was also fine. Drinks were the best part of the meal. Our table had a margarita flight, a classic margarita, agua fresca, and pineapple with mint. Service was prompt and friendly, and we never felt like we were waiting even though it was busy. The price was very reasonable, but you get what you pay for. Come in for margaritas, but maybe not for dinner.
We ordered takeout. They were able to answer my allergy questions over the phone. When I picked up our meals, I confirmed mine was gluten free and the host even went to the kitchen to triple check. And on top of that great service, my food was SO GOOD.
Huge gluten-free menu and very celiac friendly. There are plenty of vegan and dairy free options. Nachos were too salty. Food meh. Very Americanized Mexican Staff is incredible! Very cool vibe inside, but too dark. Ocean views. Has outdoor dining. Local brews. Free parking in private lot.
This Mexican restaurant opened on August 22 and it has been packed with wait lines since. Seems like mid afternoon on a Sunday is a good time to visit. We still had about a 15 minute wait but it was well worth it. Diego, our waiter, was attentive, described foods with which we were not familiar and served us well. My husband had the Colorado Burrito (spicy enough to enjoy without discomfort) and I had the steak bowl. Although corn and flour tortillas are in most traditionally Mexican foods, I was able to get a corn-free, gluten-free meal that was delicious. Portions are huge and could easily feed two to three people. Entrees are priced from $13-$19.
The only reason I can't give it 5 stars for the food is because I've had real Birria and although it was very yummy, it wasn't 100 authentic and it was a little pricey. That being said, delicious, a great fast option for food, good service, clean dining room and alot of options for toppings and sauces. I was able to get a dairy free, gluten free keto option. Needless to say that's not always possible for me when I eat out.
Poor communication and customer service owner/manager would not remake food that was made incorrectly when we were not advised over the phone they didn't have soft corn tortillas when thats what we ordered they gave us flour which we couldn't have due to celiac disease. Angela was extremely rude and the point of customer service is not to argue with the customer it's to rectify a situation. I understand stuff happened people can be miss heard. she did not offer to remake any food until I offered to pay for 1 order which shouldn't have been necessary. I'm aware there's a huge mark up on food it would not have been the end of the world to remake it to conform to the allergy. I wasn't trying to get extra food I told them they could take the 4 of 8 incorrectly made tacos and replace just those which was too much to ask apparently.
I would highly recommend this Chipotle! The staff was extremely attentive with my mom's gluten allergy and took the time to change gloves and wipe everything down before making her order. It definitely made her feel comfortable eating there which is often a challenge as her allergy is very severe. The staff went above and beyond and the food was absolutely delicious!!
Service was a little slow but the food was great! They didn't have any beer on tap but had a decent selection of domestic and imported beers. All in all a good value for the money. I certainly will be back again. Also They have gluten free choices as well.
We went on a Wednesday so all the madness was odd. We made a reservation for 7, they asked us to come back at 8. Then we waited until almost 8:30 because the people at our table wouldn't leave. The hostess was very communicative about the wait.
We ordered 2 plates of tortilla chips but they ran out, so we were only able to receive one of the house made chips(they gave us some additional gluten free ones that weren't made at the restaurant that were just like ones you buy at the super market). Our service was fairly sporadic and slow, possibly due to staffing shortages.
Our actual food was delicious, though my burrito bowl came on a plate, not in a bowl or tortilla fried bowl like I've had in other restaurants.
Our waitstaff declined to split our check.
Ambiance on the porch/deck was very cute, with nice fairy lights giving off warm but adequate light to eat by.
Maybe I'll do take out next time.
Breakfast sandwiches are so good here, and the coffee is great too! I don't eat gluten and they were able to make me a sandwich on a corn tortilla and it was amazing (I got the spicy lil mama). Great place, staff was super friendly and helpful.
It’s a take out service where you have the ability to order from multiple restaurants. I’ve ordered twice and it’s been delicious. I'm gluten free so it’s great to have a huge selection. No storefront drive up or delivery only.
