A 100% dedicated GF restaurant as well as a grab and go window available next to the restaurant! I got a turkey, brie, arugula and tomato sandwich on focaccia at the take away window and it was so delicious!! And huge!!!
A decent spot for a celiac trying to navigate eating out while traveling. Being handed an entirely separate and gluten free menu felt comforting after walking out of a restaurant who wouldn’t indicate which, if any, dishes were safe. The meal itself was good for being gluten free. I’m only a few months in to my diagnosis so I still compare to regular pastas and dishes which can be tough. I ordered the ravioli which was semi-bland but I still enjoyed it.
If you are looking for a restaurant that offers its entire menu with AND gluten-free + lactose-free, each cooked in its own isolated kitchen then look no further!
Mama Eat is THE restaurant in Florence where food intolerances can share their table with people without intolerance without any restrictions on the menu.
The staff is very kind and attentive. The atmosphere is very nice, a little away from the busy places which allows you to be calm even outside.
As I recently learned, the venue also offers the possibility of hosting class groups for lunch, offering rock history lessons in the previous two hours. I accompanied a high school class to a lesson in English on the history of the Beatles (the other proposals were The history of rock and Women's rock). The two-hour lesson with a tour of the venue and the presentation of the memorabilia donated or purchased by the Rock Caffè of Florence, was held by a passionate musician named Jacopo who was able to captivate the group by alternating news in English or Italian with the listening to songs from the period. The environment is very welcoming and so is the staff, the food is acceptable with variations for celiacs and attention to any intolerances. Included in the course is a card that offers a 20% discount for any purchases of clothing or gadgets in the store (which otherwise wouldn't be exactly cheap). In short, overall it was a positive and fun experience to try at least once. Advised.
We chose it for dinner. The menu choice was quite extensive. Everything we ate was delicious and the pasta was gluten-free. 🥰The employees were friendly and caring. Thanks.
If you’re looking for a local no nonsense restaurant with great food, this is the place. The menu covers all the essentials and features amazing pasta and local wines. They also cater for gluten free pasta. The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome (speaking English, French and Italian). Highly recommend!
Restaurant a stone's throw from the Duomo.
My wife and I spent a Florentine weekend to appreciate the culture that splendid Florence has to offer. We had lunch and dinner at Lo Scudo, in the hope that they would offer gluten free alternatives. My wife, who is celiac, ate an excellent pasta with wild boar ragù and some delicious strips of lemon chicken with spinach and roasted potatoes. The staff was attentive both in taking orders and in delivering what was requested, with due care.
So thank you and see you next time!
Fast, welcoming service and very good pasta (gluten-free available). Nothing to complain about, a good place to enjoy pasta in a fairly quiet street in the city center!
Very warm welcome from the waitress Romina, who very well presented the gluten-free, egg-free and cow's milk-free dishes to us, and who offered us to "parlare la lingua di Dante Alighieri"! Grazie mille a lei!
Great food. Their Fettuccine Alfredo was great, and they can make it gluten-free with a spaghetti noodle. Their Tiramisu and Panna Cotta are also delicious.

Pleasant lunch break. The place is always very clean (even the bathrooms) and it feels like being in a movie, then the Piazza della Repubblica is a precious setting. Sicilian cannoli, good toast and sandwiches. For gluten-free they have good mini industrial brownies (too bad, from a place like this I expect a laboratory product, in Florence and the surrounding area there are several that deal with gluten-free, I'm confident in the future😊). Tea della Via del Tea, a Florentine company, I appreciated very much. Impeccable, kind and competent service; Marta took our order without writing anything down (we were 4 people with 8 different orders). Comfortable sofas, we were outside on the sidewalk.
Amazing experience. To die for food and a great atmosphere. Mozzarella in the caprese salad was taken directly from the cow. The fennel salad, while not to everyone's taste, was fresh, crunchy and hints of liquorish. The gnocchi and risotto were both a gluten free person's dream, followed by the excellent aged steak that could make a Texan holler.
Good restaurant with a beautiful atomsphere and traditional Italian staff/service! had gluten free pasta, spaghetti shape which was fine! I think they oversalted the water though, because I had trouble finishing! The meat sauce was also good, didn't blow my socks off but for a reasonable price was a nice place for dinner!
The best pizza I ate in Florence, 100% Italian, in genius the manager went without a reservation and got us a table even when the place was full. The gluten free pizza that my girlfriend ordered was also very good. 100% recommended everything and at a very good price

Yummm!! One of our fave spots in Florence. Really friendly service, large portions, and good atmosphere. We went at open so there was no wait. We ordered the salmon, potatoes, and the margherita pizza. All were delicious. I am gluten sensitive and their menu had many options for me. Our favorite pizza in Italy so far 🤩
We were 9 and we had an incredible time on the rooftop for a Sunday lunch. The awesome Eleonora helped us in everything and there was much attention for a friend of us who eats just gluten and lactose free.

A hidden gem behind the hustle and bustle of the Duomo - authentic food of good quality, attentive service and gluten free options. The bisteca is a must.
I can't give less than 5 stars to this restaurant! My girlfriend and I were really satisfied with the experience we had here.
The place is small, but it is very well furnished and is super welcoming. The staff was very kind and friendly.
The food was really excellent and gluten-free options are also available for those with celiac disease like me.
In conclusion, a highly recommended place!
In the center of Florence, a beautiful tavern with a typical and non-touristy menu. Gluten free options are also available. Very kind staff. We'll be back!
I'll start with the positive - beautiful interior. But the food is just terrible. There is no wine by the glass, only prosecco. We ordered mussels in white wine, onion soup, and gluten free pasta.
Firstly, it took a very long time to carry the food. The waiter said it was because we ordered gluten free. But when the food came out, the gluten-free pasta came out first. Everything else was still waiting. The mussels had a strange taste, clearly not fresh. The onion soup is completely unsalted, the onions are uncooked. The pasta was also unsalted. In general, we left hungry!
The food is not worth the money and I would never return here and do not advise anyone to visit this restaurant. Complete disappointment.
Amazing steak and wine selection.
We got gluten free gnocchi with the wild boar sauce and it was better than I could have hoped for. (My wife is gluten-free)
My only complaint is the tables are too small and close together. Staff was very friendly.
Very good steak, very nice and friendly staff. They know how to advise very well which meat to choose. Very nice place internally, but we ate abroad. Super equipped for gluten-free, they have both bread and pasta, and my celiac boyfriend was even able to eat fried potatoes. They also have gluten-free beer.
We had such a good time that we returned twice! Fair price quality considering that it is in the historic center. Highly recommended
We stumbled on this wonderful and somewhat quirkily decorated restaurant for a very late lunch after a day spent walking many k. Exceptional service from our very kind and appropriately attentive young waiter, who very carefully inquired about my gluten sensitivity, and delicious food.
Good restaurant with great food. People are nice and even speak a bit English. And they have gluten free pizza and pasta, delicious and good portions. Prices are normal.
Everything really excellent.
Environment, food, staff.
The fact that there are many gluten-free alternatives is very positive, which is no small feat.
Honorable mention for the grilled potatoes which are spectacular.
I fell in LOVE with it!
We found the restaurant by chance in Google searches. It turned out to be a fantastic surprise.
Welcoming and beautiful environment: very trendy with mirrors, soft lights and a modern style.
Professional staff and very nice owner!
The food is wow: high quality food that finally makes high level Chinese cuisine discovered in Italy too, where it is too often underestimated as cheap and of questionable quality. Here you discover a new China, a tasty gastronomic journey.
For people like me who are celiac and only eat gluten-free, they cannot guarantee the absence of contamination but they are very prepared and attentive, offering many dishes. The day after I'm fine. 😉
All this just a stone's throw from the cathedral, it's almost incredible to find a restaurant in the center that's not just for tourists... well, I'll definitely be back. I love this place and had a wonderful evening!
