Food and service was i just wished the seats were cleaned the bench i sat at was stickky other than that my gluten free bread turkey and tots were delicious.
Food was fantastic. The waitress was knowledgeable about gluten and let us know the breakfast potatoes were fried in the same oil as other things containing gluten, so let us sub those out for mashed potatoes. My daughter loved the steak and eggs and I did a build your own breakfast
Don’t eat here if you have celiacs disease or a gluten intolerance. Staff stated they had gluten free noodles and told the kitchen of my allergy. I ordered what the waitress recommended was “safe” and with in hours of eating here my celiac symptoms started. For me it takes more than just cross contamination with a flour product for it to be this severe of a reaction. While the food is delicious it is not a safe place for any one with a wheat allergy.
GLUTEN FREE
So impressed! Everything in the entire shop was gluten free, and the girls at the counter were so nice to us and each other. The food is so good, and kids eat free Saturday!
Took them forever to get our order, being that it was not even that full. So much i had to call to make my order and then they actually got it done in 10 minutes... when I went to pick it up while I was sitting at the table ( which I ordered from the table after waiting for over 20 minutes), The minute they noticed it was me.. the costumer service got worse. The owner came out and apologized, yet gave me a burger with just a bun and the meat... I needed a gluten free bun due to an allergy, which they stated.. they had.. they don't, or they dont know what gluten free is.. so allergy my husband got.. DEF NOT GLUTEN FRIENDLY.
I rarely post negative reviews.. most of the times I would just go somewhere else. But their food did look good, and I wanted to give them a chance. However we are never coming here again.
I've been to this location many times, and I've never had anything that wasn't delicious. My family has various dietary needs (gluten, dairy, etc) and they can accommodate all of us. This morning, we had brunch for my son's birthday. Riley was wonderful. She was very attentive, made sure the food was safe for those that couldn't have gluten, and was incredibly nice. My son has autism, and she made a point of talking with him and engaging in his interests to make him feel special. :)
Bailey was our server and made our first dining experience at this restaurant one to remember! Very attentive & friendly, extremely on point, and food came out perfect. I was very impressed by her & the meal & dessert. She is very good at what she does, enjoys it, and that shows! She even showed me the gluten free menu- They are lucky to have her.
Amazing atmosphere! Quite quiet inside compared to the busy street and road noise with nice decor. The waitstaff was super friendly and kind. Here is a good place for a nutritious meal. Welcoming for gluten free, vegetarians, and vegans alike!
Had lunch here during a day of shopping at the outlets with my fiancee and was pleasantly surprised by the food, service, and cleanliness of the restaurant. I'm vegetarian and have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating- even asking if it was an allergy or a preference when I asked for gluten free and informed me of cross contamination with the fries so they seemed pretty careful and informed. Gluten free bun was soft and didn't fall apart (anyone who is gluten free knows how hard this is to find) and the veggie burger was decent.
Had to ask multiple times for more salsa for the endless chips and salsa. Was wtg on the salsa to eat with my fajitas as well and had to remind her twice so the food was getting cold while wtg. Staff is not knowledgeable about the menu either. Fajitas say gluten free on the menu but they came out with flour tortillas. I asked her for corn tortillas and she said they don't have any. I had to tell her it says there are corn tortillas online so then she checked.
Love this place. I can't drink coffee but their teas are always on point, especially the chai. The only place in town where I can get a gluten free muffin that doesn't make my throat swell up. I only wish they didn't run out so quickly! I'd buy a dozen at a time if they weren't so good freshly made. 🧁👌🏻
I wish I knew the name of the girl who made my almond milk latte because it was so, SO good and I want to hire her to make them for me every day. The gluten free almond.... something... was also to die for. This coffee shop made me wish I visited San Marcos more often
Our 1st time eating there, we have to pick places with gluten free options for our son. Pizza was good, our son liked his even though spinach wasn't a topping you carried.
Gumby's Pizza is a fantastic spot for pizza lovers! The Stoner Pie is a must-try, loaded with delicious toppings and a perfect crust. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, making it a great place to hang out with friends. I appreciate their gluten-free options, which cater to various dietary needs. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for tasty pizza in San Marcos. Can't wait to come back and try more of their menu!
Stated gluten free buns and burgers. But nothing was gluten free. Only reason I went there. So no beuno, had people meet me here cause I thought I could eat there. And nope!
First of all, I LOVE Danni (or is it Danny? Lol). She is the best barista! Every time I go in, even if I haven't been in months, she remembers me and my drink. She's the sweetest person, and I'd go back just to chat with her.
But it does help that the coffee is perfect every time. I always drink an almond milk latte with honey, and they always make it right. Plus, the coffee they use is lovely.
The place is adorable, too, especially if you want to sit and chat or study. It's relaxing and super comfortable. I love that they have indoor and outdoor seating.
They also have great food. I enjoy the breakfast tacos, and I love that they have gluten-free options.
I highly recommend this joint!
Delicious! Wide variety of options, including gluten free options. A little pricier than other places around San Marcos but the *quality* DEFINITELY reflects, this is real food. Love coming here. The quinoa salad is delicious as are the million dollar potatoes 🤩 10/10 would recommend
I've seen this restaurant many times, and always wanted to try it, but all in all eating there was a disappointment. I was hopeful when I saw items on the menu that were listed as gluten-free (actually flour free). I ordered the Hippie and my husband ordered the Fist Pump. Imagine my disappointment when my taco arrived with a flour tortilla 🫤. She explained to me as she set my taco in front of me that they were out of corn tortillas, hoped it was ok, and apologized. I said well, I ordered that taco bcuz I can't eat gluten and it was supposed to come on a corn tortilla. She offered to put the ingredients in a bowl. I said ok and asked for some chips or something else to go with it since I wasn't getting a tortilla. She gave us some chips and salsa which were good. I didn't really care for the converted taco in a bowl. We also ordered a pint of rice to share. We really liked the rice. We would have preferred if they would have told us up front that they didn't have any corn tortillas and if they had told us we most likely would have gone somewhere else. Overall, the food and the experience was disappointing because they weren't up front about being out of corn tortillas. Not sure how they can call themselves a "Tortilla Grill" and not have any corn tortillas.
Always a delight coming to North Street. They have a decent amount of gluten free options, although I do wish there were more dishes that didn't contain tomato. Regardless, I am willing to face the consequences for how delicious the Tikka Masala is! The rice is a great part of this dish as well. Trying out the seasonal flavors of their Lassi is always fun too.
Lunch is much less crowded if you're wanting to have your food out quicker, but dinner is never overly crowded either. It's worth the wait either way.
Food was fantastic. The young gentleman that waited on us, I forgot to get his name, was great! His personality was great, his patience with all of our gluten free questions was top notch. Definitely a "must go again" place for us.
