This place offers a touch of class in a unique environment. We had a birthday brunch there recently, it was superb. What was one of the best moments was seeing my daughters face when her gluten free pancake arrived looking just as good as normal food and tasting amazing. We ate at The Goldfinch for the first time today and it was fantastic. We went for lunch and had the calamari, mushroom tacos, and eggplant followed by tiramisu and the chocolate treasure desserts. Everything was delicious. The calamari was the best we’ve ever had! All of the dishes were great. The flavours were unique and interesting and so tasty. We had such a good experience here! Our food was incredible and fresh, and so full of flavour. I’m gluten free and asked if they could make a few adjustments and the waitress wasn’t sure but sent the chef out to speak to us, and he was very accommodating. The mussels were out of this world, and we were disappointed they were sold out of salmon but it comes directly from the ocean in Akaroa and weren’t getting the next fresh delivery til that afternoon, from the morning’s catch. Would come back just for that!
