This place was so nice and relaxing. Darien was so polite and any extra requests we made he delivered. The food was delicious and they have gluten-free items. I would recommend going there.
A big shout out to the owner, managers, and staff for accommodating our gang of 22 for my son's 30th birthday bash! The food was outstanding, many gluten free options, and the service was excellent! I highly recommend Maxims! Thanks again all!
I went to Daley's for dinner on a Friday night. It was a snowy night and the restaurant was fairly empty at 7pm. The decor is lovely. Dim lighting, comfortable seats and the firepits were burning outside creating a nice cozy glow through the windows.
I was excited to eat here because there were so many gluten aware options. There were 4 people in my party and I was the only one with a food allergy ( gluten).
We ordered a round of drinks and I placed an order for the baked brie for the table which was available with gf bread. I made sure to specify when I ordered that it was to be prepared gf. The waiter was like..."no prob, I got you". When the brie came out, I noticed the bread didn't look gf. As someone who has been gluten free for almost 20 years, I'm very aware of what gf bread looks like. I asked the person who brought it to the table (the manager, i think) if she could confirm if it was gf and she immediately said...oops, no it's definitely not.
They took it away and prepared a new one with gf bread. When they brought the new one to the table the cheese was not at all melted which is sort of the whole point of dipping the bread into the melted cheese. After asking them to heat it up again, the manager apologized and offered to take the brie off of the bill
Entrees were ordered prior to this and we waited and waited and waited... around 30 minutes. The restaurant was literally 3/4 empty. The kitchen was not that busy. There seemed to be a bit of an issue with our dishes coming out of the kitchen in a timely manner. The nachos and the chicken parm that my friend's ordered were sitting up there for at least fifteen minutes. The chicken was hot but the pasta under it was cold and the nachos were soggy after sitting so long. I ordered a crab cake and my friend ordered the scallops and both of those were fine. We didn't complain about any of the entrees because at that point we were just frustrated by the mistakes.
The waiter apologized about the brie and further offered that the next round of drinks would be on the house. However, we were not intending on drinking anymore.
So instead of comping the drinks that we had already ordered he just didn't do anything and brought us the bill
After we received the bill, we spoke to the manager and she did take the round of drinks off the bill as well as the brie.
I appreciate that they attempted to make the situation right, but if you're going to offer gluten free options , you should really be well versed on how to serve them properly and safely.
I'm not sure if they were just having an off night due to the snow storm but i'm really reluctant to come back again. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience.
My husband and I went for breakfast one morning, and it has been improved significantly. They do offer gluten-free rolls that my husband said were very good.
Food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding. We went for brunch hoping for more gluten free possibilities, and although they haven't started making pancakes and waffles with gf flour yet, there were plenty of delicious egg options (Benedict-style too, if you're into it!)
Our waitress was lovely and accommodating, and besides wishing our cocktails were perfected, our experience was a delight and I'm sure we'll stop by again for lunch or dinner.
Service was prompt and friendly, we got wings with Honey Bourbon BBQ and Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs to start, the flavor on everything was good, the homemade bleu cheese was really delicious. My girlfriend is gluten free, and they were fairly accommodating having gluten free pasta and chips instead of bread. I got the filet with Italian style mashed potatoes and broccolini with a side of pasta and fra diavolo. The broccolini was crisp and very flavorful, the potatoes were ok, and the steak was delicious, despite being slightly over cooked. The fra diavolo sauce was delicious! My girlfriends gluten free pasta was good, and the chicken that came with it was fantastic. All the drinks we had were great, and the whole restaurant has a really great atmosphere, can’t wait to come back again and sit on the patio when the weather is nicer.
We used Perreca’s catering for appetizers and dessert for our wedding this weekend. The food was delicious our guests loved that they had gluten free options. I recommend them for you party it was a great experience.
Being gluten and dairy free, they went out of their way to accommodate!!! I had a turkey breast wrap (gf wrap) and home fries!! No butter!! Thank you!!
We had my sister’s bridal shower at the City Squire and I cannot say enough good things about this place. Aaron and his team were friendly, accommodating and so pleasant to do business with. The food was fantastic (and there was SO much left over to take home) and Aaron did such an amazing job at accommodating our guests with gluten and nut allergies. The banquet menu offered so much as well, and the event space was absolutely stunning. It is the perfect combination of modern elegance and rustic charm. There is even access to the upper patio from the event space. If you are searching for a place to have an event in the Schenectady area, I highly recommend the City Squire! Our guests have been raving about it ever since the shower! You cannot go wrong here.
We made a reservation and were seated as soon as we walked in. Service was wonderful.
The food was delicious. Their lobster bisque, which is only served on Friday and Saturday, was outstanding. I got the halibut special and it was really good. My husband ordered the lamb shank special and the meat just fell off of the bone it was so good. The dessert menu had something for everyone including a gluten-free cake, which was heavenly.
Parking is tough. We couldn't find a spot on the street so we parked in the parking garage. There was no charge for parking, but it was a bit of a walk on icy sidewalks in February. In nicer weather the walk would be fine.
I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back to eat again.
AMAZING! I’ve been meaning to write this review since September when I was visiting my parents in Schenectady, NY. They heard of this new vegan restaurant and I’m so glad we tried it.
We went on a Saturday right when they opened at 3:00pm and our server Megan was the best! She was friendly and had the best recommendations. This place is great for EVERYONE. I’m vegetarian myself and went with meat-eaters (one who is picky and Gluten Free), and we all loved our food. We had the Everything Fries, Beyond Burger, Jalapeño Cornbread Hush Puppies, Southwest Chicken Egg Rolls, Loaded Grilled Cheese (GF), and one of their rotating specialty cakes - Salted Caramel Chocolate (GF) which was so moist and delicious!
Drinks are great, and the atmosphere is awesome. Lots of retro arcade games and an upBEET vibe... 😜👾💥🎮
WE WILL BE BACK!
They were all very polite and charming. I have Celiac disease and have to be very careful and they all took extra care to make sure my food was safe to eat. Thank you Song,Ty, Tim and Percy.
The place is so stunning inside, you feel like you are in Vegas and not Schenectady. I have a gluten and tree nut allergy and they were extremely accommodating! The service was top notch and the owner even came over to our table. I highly recommend. The drinks too...oh my, delish!
My wife and I have had great meals here and the chief has been able to cook special gluten-free dishes for me. This latest time it was haddock in a butter sauce and cooked sliced tomatoes. We especially love the sautéed vegetables as a side dish which we special order each time we go there. Staff was very friendly and interactive. Wait time was a little long this last time, but they were packed.
Best Indian food in the area. The owner is so so so nice, so accommodating, and is understanding of different dietary restrictions and choices (vegan, gluten-free) G/F Vegan, Vegetarian options clearly marked on the menu.
I'm vegan but also gluten free, so their french fries are the only menu item I'm interested in. I was assured there is a fry basket dedicated solely to potatoes. They were very kind and accommodating when I explained my gluten sensitivity. Each staff member washed hands and wore new gloves, made sure the potatoes did not touch any other surface or placed in the section where the spicing is located. There were so many fries in my bag! I ate nearly half the bag and took the rest home to place in aluminum foil and my refrigerator. Happily I have so far not had a bad reaction.
We went there to celebrate 2 birthdays in our family/friend group. I accidentally left my phone there and called after they were closed to see if it was recovered. Not only did they answer the phone (I was not expecting them to since they were technically closed by the time I realized I didnt have my phone), but waited until I got there so I could get my phone that night instead of the next day. Timothy was even so kind he wouldn't accept my $20 as a thank you. He said he'd take $5 bc I insisted. Very nice people, good atmosphere, and I heard their gluten free pizza is amazing, which I will have to try next time. I will definitely return next time we go out.
They have gluten free pasta and chicken parm, among other options. The waitstaff seemed knowledgeable and I was comfortable eating here/ had no reaction to gluten or cross contamination.
Absolutely delicious meats that are full of flavor and cooked to perfection! The sandwiches are incredibly tasty — each bite is packed with savory goodness. I was also really impressed to see that they offer gluten-free bread options, which is a huge plus for anyone with dietary restrictions. The quality and care put into the food here is top-notch. I’ll definitely be coming back very soon!
A lovely spot in Schenectady with food well surpassing the neighborhoods other options.
A menu mix of traditional French, and offerings of Cajun, Italian, and American fare. Gluten & vegan options too. All stemming from proper techniques and seasoned well. Impressive is the volume of the menu made in house… pasta, breads, desserts, dry aged beef, etc.
The front & rear staff are friendly and accommodating.
The bar spirits seems to be growing in offerings as well as wine selections as the menu changes with the season and weekly specials.
Well worth stopping in for a peek, since the new owners took over in 2022.
I absolutely loved it. Great gluten free options. Even GF lava cake! They care a lot about making their customers happy. Strip steak was so tender, although my husband thought it was a bit burnt. Very good martini. Nice large glass.
Ordered 4 breakfast sandwiches to go. My youngest daughter is gluten free so I was happy to find they have gluten free bread for sandwiches, toast or French toast. Giving 4 star because I wanted to pay with cash and couldn’t. I called to order but they were busy which was expected for a Sunday at 10. The voice message said order through their website and pay at pickup so I did order online but there was no option to pay cash and I could place the order without paying first.
