I am not vegan or vegetarian. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked zest. I got the mushroom alfredo pasta and it was so good. We also got nachos to share - which if you don’t think about it as nachos and more just a chip and dip dish then it’s delicious. The roll was also pretty good and the dessert was amazing
They take celiac disease very seriously and have protocol in place when you alert them. So many yummy sushi options. They do not have a dedicated gluten free fryer.
One of the best gluten free sushi places I have found. They have a big gf section of the menu, plus really good teriyaki sauce that is too. One of the main things we go here for is the gf salad dressing.
The sushi rolls were decent, but the fish was great on the nigiri.
This is a staple for me. I always get the sunshine and pd roll but the executive and tnt and the one with mango and jalapeño are also good. The dessert is amazing though I miss the gluten free cheesecakes they used to have. I’ve never gotten sick here. You also can buy their gluten free teriyaki and jalapeño teriyaki in bottles to take home.
The food and service here exceeds my expectations. It’s not very often that I find myself wanting more, but Yuki Yama did just that. The wagyu beef served with the hot rock is to die for, as well as the lamb and Bruce lee roll. Our server Dariel was efficient and thorough, and went the extra mile to make sure we had an amazing experience. He had great recommendations and it’s not very often that I receive this level of service. Even out Busser was thorough and cleared many plates and provided us with clean ones. You have to try the wagyu and Bruce Lee roll. I’ll be thinking about this place until the next time we’re back ! The only thing that estranged me is the country and blues music for a Japanese restaurant, but we absolutely loved everything else. Additionally , they have many clear options for gluten and dairy allergy restrictions.
Our server Blythe was incredible!
We planned on coming here as I have a Gluten Intolerance and heard about their GF menu. It was delightful. There were multiple options for both plates and sushi, they had tamari, teriyaki, and even brownies!!! I got a GF rainbow roll, teriyaki skewers, and 1 brownie with 2 to go because it was so yummy! Loved this place for GF options specifically!
Delicious meal and gluten free/celiac safe! The sushi was excellent, everything was so fresh, with lots of great flavors. The tempura is gluten free and no cross contamination in the fryers
Honestly the worst sushi I’ve ever had. The teriyaki steak plate was absolutely horrible (a pile of steamed, unseasoned veggies, old rice and a tiny piece of “steak”), the California roll was edible but the rainbow roll looked and tasted off like the fish was old. I’ve never had to force myself to eat sushi before. They do have good gluten free options though.
I feel guilty posting a review this bad about a local restaurant but the owner really needs to be aware how bad the food they’re serving here is. We’ve eaten at other Tsunami locations and they were pretty good but this one was horrible.
When I first had to go gluten free one of the waitresses recommended I get the tuna tartare because it’s similar to the green globe and it was SO good. So here we are years later and I still order it, up until yesterday. I was told I can only order from the designated gluten free menu, which the tuna tartare is not on. To be honest the designated gluten free menu is not that great and not worth the price you pay. I really have no reason to go back.
Not a lot of gluten-free options, and they were out of GF hamburger buns, but I enjoy their shrimp tacos. They recently reworked their menu and forgot to mark GF so I had to ask the waitress. We enjoyed the molten cake.
Too much salty on smoked salmon, tuna isn’t good, It’s taste like little old, Vegas sushi isn’t good. I have tried mango hand roll and they didn’t cooked tempura right way. It’s taste like watery and awful taste. Also need to training for gluten free processing and preparation because waitresses don’t know what’s to do with gluten free as separating set from wheat and regular. I am sure cook did not change gloves for who gluten free people. Co workers parking black truck on illegal parking lot because it’s was handicap area. Seats need update, they are not comfortable to sit down.
Ping always ensures my order is free from my allergens ! She's got a sweet vibe♡
She is willing to work with gluten-free requests as well ♡
The restaurant itself could use a lil spring cleaning to get dust from the ceiling.
Other than that it's a beautiful space , with good vibes & yummy reasonably priced sushi ♡
Love the gluten-free garlic edmanae
Fat fish is a good sushi place that has amazing service and gluten free options! The blazing jazz is the best. Definitely the best sushi we’ve had in Davis county!

Cute little alcove booths. Awesome service, our waitress Carly was the BEST! We had the Saba, Ryan’s Roll, California, and kids chicken teriyaki. It was all delicious and they even have gluten-free soy sauce. We wil definitely be coming back.
They do offer yummy gluten free rolls, the curry soup is so good! Is it gluten free?
Service is great! Fast and efficient. Great place for rolls and soup!

We love Sushi Ya. I have to eat gluten-free and even though there are not a lot of options there is still a variety I can order. Now if they did gluten-free tempura they would be perfect!!

We've been eating at Chopfuku for years. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Service is quick, even when the restaurant is busy. The menu stands up to any Japanese restaurant I've visited on either coast, and many places in between. It's consistently delicious, whether you're a purist who sticks to sashimi or nigiri, or you just love a great-tasting roll. They have lots of options for folks who don't like fish, too. If you have celiac, listen up: the Chopfuku staff know how to prepare many items on the menu truly gluten-free. No celiac I know has ever eaten there and gotten sick, including myself.
Incredible food. Probably the best sushi I’ve ever had. Even better, you can get almost everything on their menu gluten-free. Our waiter was knowledgeable about gluten and made sure to avoid it - he even brought me gluten-free soy sauce.
Been coming here for years. Best sushi I’ve had in Utah. Every time I try branching out, I am disappointed. Even the “nicer” joints are just not as good. The sushi is delicious every time and they have great entrees too. Some are Mongolian. The Tsuivan noodle dish is to die for. Sadly I got diagnosed with a gluten allergy and they have been super great with gluten free rolls. There are a few that come naturally g free but they say they can also alter just about any roll to be g free, although I haven’t tested them on this yet.
Non-menu item rec: spicy salmon roll. It’s spicy tuna but with salmon instead. Super good.

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES - I hate leaving bad reviews, I really do... but these people are going to hurt somebody and management is definitively clueless when it comes to food allergies.
I asked very specifically for gluten-free options. I took their guidance. The food arrived and I was skeptical. Turns out their "Crab" is imitation crab. I asked if they could verify it was gluten free. Between the fake masago and the fake crab, I got definitively "glutened" and had to deal with GI inflammation and pains for four+ days.
I called their manager to share my feedback, and the manager/owner expressed doubt and suggested that food allergies only hit immediately and that I didn't have a reaction in the restaurant (LOL). I asked the management to provide a full refund and I would have left this issue alone and moved on. They agreed, and then later provided a refund for ONE ROLL. Nope... I'd rather pay $1000 then to deal with the pain that I've been dealing with for days now. $14 refund after agreeing to refund the whole check of $64. THESE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HURT SOMEBODY AND SEEMINGLY COULD CARE LESS.
BE CAREFUL MY FELLOW SENSITIVE BROTHERS AND SISTERS! Plenty of other sushi places in SLC that actually care and understand food allergies. On the positive note, the server and hostess were very nice and kind. It's a lack of education and management is care-free.
Wooooooooow!!! I am not a sushi person but this place has converted me. I am gluten free and they took care to make sure my food was safe. The rolls are so big, maybe 10 pieces each. I got the vegan Monkey and Yummy rolls and they were great. I have been craving this again since I went. My friends got the Hot Cheeto roll, Fuji roll, Hawaiian roll, and Sakura roll. We can’t stop talking about how good this place was since!
LOVE this spot.
If I have only one complaint the parking is a little bit chaotic- and turning left into it is not very fun but, it’s doable.
Always remind the people up front about the special you’re ordering that day and they’re happy to ring up the discount for you.
We got the Bandy and the Band manager with curry Gyoza and it was AMAZING
The quality of ingredients is great and so so filling. We were in and out of there 30 minutes flat the service is so fast and they’re really nice.
There’s super smash bros to play while passing the time. The inside is small but comfortable. We took the bar end near the window. There is a bathroom inside too. Wheelchair accessibility is limited due to how close the space is but if you’re brave or in a compact you could maneuver about.
The menu is nice to read too, the fonts aren’t crazy.
The oyster sauce is SO good here. They are also really clear about their vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. They are listed on menu and they have a list in the counter for whatever dietary resistance you may have.
They take tap to pay as well. The inside is very clean and they have a station to bus your own tables.
They offer water on a large shelf for self service.
There is an outdoor space to eat right in front of the restaurant with sun cover and plastic sheets for keeping the elements at bay.
Waiting in line usually goes out the door but the space can only hold four people inside and the line moves really fast so it’s no issue.
The tapas are the way to go. They are small plates perfect for sharing to get a taste of everything. Also - big fan of the cocktails. Whenever I have family or friends visiting, I will always bring them here. Lots of gluten free options too!
