The best gluten free fish and chips I’ve ever had, even better to peace of mind that the whole place is fully gf, and the staff are very knowledgeable. We enjoyed taking these down to eat on the lakefront, will definitely be back again!
Had the pleasure of dinning at the Public kitchen and bar with my partner. Our waiter Ed throughly explained the menu to us. My partner is a celiac and Ed brought out a seperate menu for her and talked us through it and even gave us some delicious recommendations. The service was great and the food and drink were excellent. Lovely establishment and a great waiter. Thank you Ed!!!
Very popular place.
It was just on the outskirts of the main city area, within comfortable walking distance.
Being gluten free I was impressed with the offerings available to me.
Lovely vibes. Highly recommend.
What a debacle! Just a couple of snacky ski bums craving a tasty gluten free tender meal after a cracking on the maunga. We love chicken, so this seemed like the perfect choice. It was not. When you think of a chicken tender you think of golden, juicy, tasty, crispy... But how wrong we were to rely on the website photos. What we received was an unseasoned, insipid, whiter than the snow tender with really no redeeming features. For an outfit that specialises in chicken, this was exceptionally bad. Only plus side to this whole shamozzle was the chips. Thank goodness Briscoes and Woolworths are close by to grab the other couple of necessities on this trip. We're not angry, we're just disappointed.
Protip: Woolworths is just down the road. Grab yourself a packet of Waitoa gluten free burger fillets and some Makakihi Fries and you'll be waaaaay happier than us.
Edit: old mate Owner is (again) saying it was a kids meal... Absolutely wasn't! ...not sure how long they can keep hiding behind that. Poor form to be honest. Get down to countdown - 3x the food, 10x the taste for less pesos
Great fresh burgers and friendly staff. Had two rounds because the first burger was so nice
Accommodating of Gluten Free (celiac) for the burgers. Chips are GF but unfortunately cooked in the same fryer as crumbed things.

Nice enough place food was good gluten free options available. I would say it is aimed more towards the younger customer .We are in the 55/65 bracket the music was loud and there were alot of younger people who were drinking and having a good time .
Delicious food, great service, and they were able to accommodate for a gluten allergy!!Ordered the Julio’s corned beef carnitas hash w/out the cheese (absolutely delicious), GF eggs benny w/ streaky bacon, and a side of the potatoes. Also got an iced latte and a coffee which were nice.
Absolutely beautiful warm and welcoming restaurant with outstanding food and service! Gluten free pasta a winner. Our son has Coeliac Disease and the gluten free pizzas were the best we've had anywhere in the world so far. Ask for Matilda... super efficient, friendly and delightful.

Great spot, great views, great service and very well prepared and cooked seafood.
We got a great seat with a view of The Remarkables which made our night even more special.
Highly recommend, because we had them, the scallops, tuna loin, charred octopus with paua and mussels in green curry with rice as my partner is gluten free. Lots of options for GF.
We almost walked in through the service entrance but were gently redirected to the correct door by an actual service member. Without a booking, there was only bar seating available but we were pleased to be seated immediately. They have a ton of non-alcoholic and gluten free options! We enjoyed the salt and pepper squid, salmon and chicken sandwich. Definitely would have liked a seat looking out the window so be sure to get a reservation!
Moinho cafe, recently established in Queenstown’s Frankton area, is an extension of the renowned Padaria do Moinho bakery founded in Cuiabá. The Queenstown branch continues the tradition of quality artisanal baking, offering a tempting range of breads, cakes, and savory treats in a relaxed, welcoming café setting. The menu blends Brazilian and South American flavors with New Zealand café classics and caters to various dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Portions are generous-one cheese scone was enough for two-and the cabinet food looks appealing. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the cappuccino we had was well made. The café’s casual, family-friendly atmosphere makes it a great spot for breakfast, brunch, or a relaxed lunch. Our experience was enhanced by the clean premises and reasonable prices.
Moinho cafe stands out for its fresh, quality baked goods, friendly service, and unique Brazilian flair, making it a welcome addition to Queenstown’s café scene.
We inhaled our food here it was so good. The Pad Thai definitely lives up to the hype. Also, almost everything on the menu could be made gluten free with no issue, the staff was very kind about the gluten free request.
We were staying at the Ramada and ended up having two dinners and a breakfast here - was so good. Great service and very accomodating to my partner who is gluten free. Truffle fries were amazing
We hosted a group of 30 here and it was the perfect spot. The service was great and the outdoor area was perfect for a large group. Super chill atmosphere and beautiful. We took public transit from queenstown and it was a beautiful drive through a canyon and we ordered a sharing platter which everyone was very impressed by. They were able to accommodate gluten free diet too.
I loved my experience at The Cow, the food is unbelievably good! The service is perfect! Leticia, who assisted us was extremely helpful, super friendly and kind! She was also really patient and careful with all my food restrictions. The vegan and gluten-free pizza is the best in Queenstown!!!! And my husband loved the garlic bread, the best he’s ever had!!!
We will definitely be back! ❤️
Honestly, worst experience in not just Queenstown but New Zealand overall. First it took forever to get seated and the Resturant was not busy at all. This should’ve been the first red flag. We ordered rose and a mocktail + water. They brought us a random bottle of white wine which we of course sent back and had to ask again for water. I ordered the bean dip as an appetizer & a Gerard Burger with chips (all gluten free). Come to find out the chips are not gf, even though it says it available option on menu. Then i was served a chicken burger which took forever to come, sent it back for the Gerard beef burger that I ordered. Finally while waiting for my burger the bean dip came. Literally it was like beans from a can that no one cared to heat up and the chips were so stale. I ate a few since we had been there for so long by then I was starving. Finally the Berger came! The waitress came to ask how everything was and we kindly gave feedback about the experience. Mostly the horrible bean dip, she said she would have the kitchen check the batch of chips. As we were checking out, they never comped the bean dip even though we clearly did not eat 97% of it. Just horrible experience, the standards are high in this area and they failed miserably. Don’t go here!
Second time here .. had a vegetarian bagel for breakfast which was the best i ever had.. great gluten free options as well…staffs were really friendly..definitely recommend…
When I asked them to clean the steam wand and milk jug as I am a coeliac and they also do oat milk, they were very happy to do so but as usual came with the “all care but no responsibility” spiel.
We booked our wedding dinner here for our small group of 8. Upon our arrival we were very warmly welcomed and given 2 glasses of bubbles on the house. The service was 5 star with a special mention to our server Harriett, who really went above and beyond to give us a run down on the menu and recommendations and was able to very confidently cater for our gluten and dairy free guests. The food was outstanding and everyone left full and happy. Harriet even helped us get a group photo out the front by the water, which turned out to be one of the best group shots of the trip.
Thanks again and we will be recommending you to anyone we know heading to Queenstown! Duncan and Jo
Beautiful staff, lovely atmosphere, treat with No Added Gluten for those of us with sensitive stomachs. Perfect almond mocha and were happy to use Lactose Free milk I had leftover. Brekky was also fabulous.
Shrimp was definitely old. Smelt so bad I gagged, and you couldn’t get the poop lines out because of how old they were. My son got really bad diarrhoea afterwards, and shat himself when running to the toilet.
My daughter wanted pasta so the chefs made her some gluten free pasta which was really nice.
Plus, the dessert was really good and my daughter could eat most of it. The luge was fun for the whole family. My son lost his phone on the track, but the staff were quick to get it back to us.
Just like to thank the staff for taking such good care of our party. 3 of our 4 are coeliac, with one non-meat eater, one anaphylactic fish and seafood and one anaphylactic peanuts. The staff coped admirably and made sure we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Brilliant!
I'm a long time Queenstown local and you won't find better Thai food in Queenstown. The Duck Curry is my personal favorite. Also tons of gluten free options.
Absolutely 10 points for EVERYTHING!
My partner said they have the best Calamari in town, I had the provoleta that tasted like home! Also the mushrooms super yummy. A lot of oprtions Gluten free.
They were happey to bring a side of Gluten free bread for my provoleta so that my partner could have regular bread.
For dessert please try the Crema Catalana. Don't miss out this please.
New regulars here maybe hey!
Shout out to Calli for her hospitality and for looking after my dietries.
Thank you chef! Thank you team!
Came here for an early dinner with my husband. Friendly staff, though service was interesting, in that we got an appetizer to share (cauliflower bites), but no plate to split them. So we ate over napkins. No biggie.
Then our mains arrived. He had the fish & chips & I had the Caesar salad. Not terrible, but also not as good as we’d hoped. Standard Pub food, I suppose.
I had high hopes for this place, based on the fish tacos reviews (ended up not getting them because I didn’t realize they weren’t gluten-free. ).
Likely had we stuck with the plan, we would not have been so disappointed – but as it stands, we both walked away from our meals, feeling that the food was not quite worth the price.
That said, it looked like it’s probably a pretty fun bar. Simply not my choice for food.
