I ordered gluten free pancakes, and when I went to tell them it was “a gluten allergy” (I have celiac disease) she didn’t understand. My boyfriend tried telling her and she replied by saying , “she ordered gluten free pancakes.” with no confirmation it was safe to order. She then proceeds to collect our menus and throw them on the table next to us??? The server was overall rude and snappy despite being nice when we walked in.
The taste of the pancakes wasn’t even worth the price or risking getting sick. I’m leaving this review right after leaving, so I have no idea yet if it’ll actually get me sick.
I REALLY wanted to love this place since it is so iconic. I’m so disappointed!!:(
We had the best breakfast at Meli Cafe! Everything was delicious. There were plenty of vegan and gluten free options. The coffee was strong and so good. The Greek donuts are fresh and very tasty. We will be back!
Pizza is cold, hard, and they cheap out on the ingredients like the red sauce and meat toppings so not worth it anymore. Other location in Berwyn, IL was my go to spot but sadly they closed down maybe they weren’t selling as much. Oh well hope this location improves or just hope it goes out of business as well for making me waste my money on garbage pizza that used to be my daily go to. Not anymore. Pompei’s gluten free pizza on Taylor st is way better.
Had dinner here and we ordered the chicken tacos - changed to lettuce wrap and the mixed seafood platter (which was served w their hand pressed corn tortillas).
Service was nice and friendly
Food was good, albeit a little salty.
The hand pressed corn tortillas are gluten free and were very delicious!
Would have been 5 stars if the food was less salty!

This was my first Indian restaurant experience!
My sister in law chose the restaurant and it was a perfect choice.
I am one of those that always will choose something different on the menu and if I have never heard of it then I am going for it!
I had the paneer pasanda and it is to DIE FOR. I can't even describe it. The sauce to dip the dish and my side of Naan in is quite addicting. Nothing was overly spicy or acidic, it was quite perfect. The pasanda was rich with creamy texture.
I highly recommend the Sweet Potato Chaat, it was bursting with flavor being topped with the yogurt mousse. (Check out the photo!)
And my significant other who went for a Gluten free option LOVED the tasty salmon and potato dish.
The wall art was stunning and unique.
Will definitely come back!
Placed a large order for work and forgot to add an extra gluten free pizza. I called and the manager gave us the gf pizza on the house to save me the trouble of placing a new order/ making a new payment. Super kind and generous of them! Timely delivery and everyone loved the food. Thank you!
Stopped for lunch, asked about why the appetizer Gyro said it was Gluten Free but the Regular order didn't indicate it was (I have celiac so it matters) - I verified it was due to the pita and went ahead and ordered the appetizer size. I was looking forward to it, until once the food was delivered, the waiter stopped back to inform me that indeed the meat did have gluten in it and that I should not eat it :( Happy he informed me, bummed I didn't get to try it - please update your menu, people like me get super sick when I eat Gluten, and it has a lasting impact for days and is seriously painful.
Outstanding omakase experience. Jamel delivered a beautiful and well-timed meal that has left me thinking about it weeks later. They also did incredible with dietary restrictions, mine being gluten ♡
If you're looking for an amazing breakfast spot with quick service and clean food, look no further. Pasture raised eggs, Chicken sausage, and sweet potato hash, Plus gluten free toast!!! Say no more!! I've also had the lemon and blueberry pancakes from them and they made them gluten free.. they are out of this world! By far my favorite breakfast spot in the city!
We had a wonderful meal here while visiting Chicago. The service was flawless. The menu offerings were broad and included a variety of gluten-free options.
Nice restaurant with a lot of options and affordable prices! The California roll was sooo fresh and Kao Soy was very good. They have several vegan and gluten free options and a separate menu you can ask for to see those options.
We were planning to go to a nearby restaurant, but we were blown away by Viaggio. The service at the bar was great, the wine lift was respectable and reasonably priced, and the food was excellent; far exceeding expectations. The sausage and peppers was authentic and delicious, with an excellent crust and sauce. The veal in the veal Marsala was EXTREMELY tender, and the dish was hot, with great seasoning and pepper levels. I also appreciated that they had gluten free penne for the meal. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed Saturday dinner and there was great energy in the restaurant.
This place serves the absolute best gluten-free pizza I’ve ever had—hands down. They’ve completely nailed the crust, which is a rare feat. If you’re gluten-free, you know the struggle: most GF crusts are either soggy, rock-hard, or just plain weird in texture. But not here. This crust is so good, it’s indistinguishable from regular pizza. Seriously, if you didn’t tell me it was gluten-free, I wouldn’t know.
Please, whatever you do—don’t discontinue this option. You’ve earned a loyal customer. I’ve had gluten-free pizza all over the country, and nothing else comes close to this.
And it’s not just the crust—the toppings are just as amazing. Flavorful, fresh, and perfectly balanced.
If I had one suggestion: please add a dedicated gluten-free option or toggle to your ordering system. Right now, customers have to request it in the notes, which doesn’t exactly build confidence for those with dietary restrictions. A proper option would make the experience even better.
Amazing restaurant! Great staff from our server Tim all the way to the Chef Rey who brought out our final meal. All of the food we had was delicious, and I had plenty of Gluten Free options with no cross contamination. Can not wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
We went because the menu said they offered gluten free crepes, but the server rudely said they didn’t have any and offered no explanation as to why. Very disappointing when the menu doesn’t align to the facts as we planned our entire morning around getting crepes first.
Great food and great experience, I’d emailed ahead to confirm some GF options for my son who is strictly coeliac and Jodi promptly replied that all was good. Great GF pizza for him. Great Rueben and IPAs for myself
Our office had breakfast burritos catered and had forgotten to include corn tortillas for our gluten free folks. I called Burrito Beach and the catering manager so kindly hand delivered corn tortilla breakfast burritos 20 minutes later. Truly such a kind act that we were so grateful for!
Went there for dinner with my wife to celebrate our anniversary and a nice night away from the kids. I am gluten free, and the service was fantastic - zero cross contamination and they made sure of it. They have a 4-course meal but with all the extras, its really 6 courses. I was very full when I left there but it was a good amount of food. It was a good value, very high-end food cooked perfectly. Everything was very good, there were some sauces that were not needed or little things that were not necessary but overall, it was very good. Highly suggest! The neighborhood was just okay, we got there early and went for a walk and the area was a bit shady at parts and just not a lot to see while walking around. Overall I suggest
