Great birthday lunch. Friendly welcome, clean and tidy, lovely decor and atmosphere. Excellent food, excellent gluten free menu. Food came with a flag on it to ensure I got the right meal.
Our server Shannon was lovely, we informed her that our two year old daughter had a gluten allergy and she was very accommodating towards that and provided amazing service throughout. We ordered some chicken but as informed by Shannon it was a bad batch so she didn’t want us eating something that she wouldn’t so recommended we ordered something different. This was amazing customer service and made our whole experience better.
I have Coeliac Disease (gluten free) and it can still be a struggle to find reliable, trustworthy restaurants who cater correctly. I had the double stack burger with a gluten free bun - my mind was blown. Alongside this the fries were crispy on the outside, but soft and fluffy on the inside. The food was delicious (melted in the mouth!) and the portion size was perfect!

Excellent gluten free food available, great choice. I had pork belly with roast vegetables and it was superb. Creme Brulee with raspberry sorbet (home made) was heaven too. Virtually everything is gluten free so coeliacs can relax and enjoy their dining experience. Highly recommended (I say that reluctantly as I'd like to keep it secret 😊 it's that good).
Had a really lovely meal with a party of 10 food was delicious. Amelia our waitress was amazing and went above and beyond. They were great with gluten free.
We would definitely return. Thank you Amelia
Came to derby to visit parents, my dad has dementia. Both parents are gluten free. It was quiet as a Friday midday. The waitress Sinitta immediately remembered my parents from being there only once before and they remembered her as said how nice she was last time. She welcomed us, sat and chatted and basically made us feel welcome. The fact she remembered my parents (in their 70’s) was so amazing! They made sure and double checked for gluten allergies which they both had and food was lovely! I don’t live in derby but I know they will be back again because they felt so looked after!
This bakery is a paradise for dessert enthusiasts and cake lovers alike. The menu offers an irresistible selection of sweet delights, featuring everything from rich cheesecakes and fluffy sponge cakes to decadent brownies. What makes this place even more special is its thoughtful inclusion of vegan and gluten-free alternatives, ensuring everyone can indulge in something delicious.
Whether you're satisfying a serious sweet craving or looking for the perfect treat, this bakery delivers pure confectionery bliss.
Had the set Christmas menu for eight of us, absolutely yum! Two of us were coeliac and that was no problem at all, you can feel like you are a nuisance!
Thank you to all so much, deeelicious, it was all absolutely lovely 😍 xx
Really enjoyed the attentive service, atmosphere and my gluten free, vegetarian meal plus drinks! Thank you Beth and everyone else for a lovely night after a long day at work
Really great cafe for gluten free options. I’m not 100% sure where the name came from as there really wasn’t many books? But overall the atmosphere was quirky and cosy. I ordered the bhaji sandwich on the online ordering option. There was no option to make it gluten free apart from the notes section but the waitress was happy to swap it and it came out with a GF bun, the food itself was really tasty
First time at this brilliant restaurant! I am one of those people who don't realise venture out and try new foods, but my goodness, I was so pleased I tried Zorba. Such beautiful food and wonderful service. Everyone was so friendly and so accommodating. We had one in our party who was gluten free, and she was looked after so well and had plenty of choice!
Would definitely recommend!
Me and my wife are regulars at Nando’s as my wife is ceoliac and she know they have have gluten free there and always orders the same thing. This evening we went to Nados, Intu in Derby and were seated promptly which was good.
However, when my wife went to order our food (which she had to being coeliac) the person taking orders informed his manager of my wife’s allergy to which she sighed and rolled her eyes before she took our order.
My wife said that the manager didn’t seem to be listening properly while taking our order details and managed to get my order wrong (although this was corrected before the food arrived).
However, after eating we got home and my wife has felt ill and believes she may have been glutened and hasn’t eaten anything other than the Nando’s today.
Probably the worst gluten-free pizza I’ve ever had! My husband’s standard margarita pizza wasn’t much better. Really expect better from Pizza Express. ☹️
Fantastic place! Dog friendly and lots of vegan and gluten free options! I don't personally drink coffee but my boyfriend said it was really nice. The nicest hashbrowns I have ever eaten!
The place was refurbished around a year ago and has got a whole new lease of life. New menu and new team of staff - lovely environment. I was excited to hear that the beers change regularly and that there's always something new to try plus the site has a wonderful new menu which includes an entire Gluten Free Menu and an entire Vegan Menu. Highly recommend.
Usually I would comment on just the food, but on this visit I would like to give massive praise to Eden who was waiting for the 1st time and totally smashed it there's nothing more he could of done for us he went over and over and above with a fun and friendly attitude.
Even stayed after his shift had finished to complete our journey.
Also dealt well with order of gluten free and vegetarian.
A great 40th birthday meal.
I hope to be served again soon by this lovely young man
Great pub and food, the menu is extensive and has plenty of gluten free possibilities, which is great.
Very quick efficient and attentive service, our food was brought out quickly, all four getting our food at the same time.
The food tasted good too.
We have ordered domino’s from this branch in the past with no issues.
However, this time we made our order online as usual. One of our pizzas had to be gluten free, and we wanted plant based cheese to be used. The website doesn’t let you select both options, and there is no where for you to provide further details to the kitchen (bizarre!!).
I ordered the pizza as gluten free online, as soon as I placed the ordered and received an order number, I rang the branch to make my cheese request and the lady I spoke to said this was not a problem and she would get this arranged.
About 25 minutes later, I received a phone call from ‘a manager visiting this branch’ who said that they had made the pizza using normal cheese but had picked up the request after making it. He said our request would not be possible as he was not allowed to do this, giving excuses such as ‘we need to look after our customers’ and he Domino’s we’re not allowed to amend the online order. I told him the website did not give me the option to which he agreed the website did not have this capability. He said the only options we had was to have the normal cheese (not an option for us due to dairy allergies) or have no cheese at all on the pizza (yuck!). He didn’t not offer a refund of any type. He was overall very rude and had a take it or leave it attitude. With our hands being tied, and very hungry, I just said to make it without the cheese. He acknowledged this then quick hung up the phone very rudely. The pizzas then arrived after another 25 minute wait (it was an hour in total before receiving the food!). The cheeseless gluten free pizza as you can imagine was disgusting and inedible. The rest of the pizzas were fine. Our gluten free family member just went to bed hungry.
I’m so disappointed with this treatment by domino’s, I have been ordering food from domino’s for 15+ years and spent 1000’s with them over the years. However no more I will find another place, AVOID AVOID AVOID
Excellent food and service, Merrick and Jonathan were amazing, advising us on gluten free options and provided a friendly welcome service! The pies are awesome!
Beautiful restaurant, amazing service and delicious and very unique food. Also an amazing place for anyone gluten free as most of the dishes on the menu are gluten free and delicious. And had kids chicken nuggets and fries and even they were fresh and delicious! Will definitely be coming back!
Really friendly and welcoming staff. Made sure we were happy and had everything we needed.
Food was excellent - really tasty and decent portion sizes. I am coeliac and the menu was clearly marked with what was Gluten Free and the staff even made sure i was aware what dishes others in my group were GF or not.
Would happily go again!
We were a walk in group. The pub was full but Shane made an extra effort to accommodate our group and was very attentive with his service which included a gluten free member which was greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Had been for dinner with family with one of us being gluten free, the food was bit of a hit and miss. The gluten free main course was a pasta dish chosen from the set menu , the pasta was a bit undercooked and didn't really gel with the sauce in which it was cooked. I had the chicken milanese which was essentially a breaded slice of chicken with tomatoes on the side and bowl of salad with cheese , the chicken was too crispy and dry, didn't really enjoy it and wouldn't recommend . The dishes which I liked were the mushroom soup which was really good and the tiramisu dessert. We went on a Tuesday so essentially the restaurant was deserted being mid week , probably would have had a better vibe on the weekend.
My favourite café in Derby. Great menu options and baked goods, with often a little twist on the usual stock to make their stuff pop, and the staff are lovely!
- Delicious coffee.
- Proper Eastern European-style rye toast!
- Great gluten-free and vegan options
- Self-serve water refills.
- Relaxed atmosphere.
- Frozen vegan and gluten free meals.
- Diverse drink menu.
- Fair prices.
Went for lunch. Lovely atmosphere and staff.my son is gluten free and they were extremely accomadating with his order and choice. Really helpful lady who was our server. Quick service. Can't fault Cuba on any level
This was the first time we have taken our children here and would recommend this place to all. Our waiter was Moiz, he was really helpful and friendly when ordering a gluten free option for my daughter. Thanks for a lovely experience
We were a party of 40 guests with a range of dietary needs, including vegan and gluten-free. There was a large range of choices for all of us, the food was delicious, and the service was exceptional.
Excellent food for all as the vegetarian offerings are super whether you are vegetarian or not. Lovely gluten free options and cakes.
Highly recommended
Really great place with fantastic, well priced menu. Something for everybody, including gluten free options. Suited 2 teenagers, spoilt for choice. Great offers on products. Option to order on the app. Service was really fast & very friendly. Food tasty and piping hot. 5* all the way!!
Wonderful museum in a very special building, the old Silk Mill. Nicely spread out with lifts for those less mobile. One of the only museums I've visited dedicated to the industrial past of a town or city. Definitely quite unique and fascinating. Worth a visit. The Cafe is excellent too and caters for gluten free coeliacs like myself.
My Premier Inn of choice in the Derby area. Perhaps smaller than the average Premier Inn but a really friendly and helpful team.
The restaurant is small, so be sure to be quick to book a table to avoid any disappointment. No problems with providing me a gluten free evening meal and breakfast either.
Make sure to remember to check your car in as well as there’s a QR code to scan and pay for parking. Residents at the hotel don’t pay, but you must use the iPad at the reception desk to enter your registration number.
Special word of mention to Chloe as well. Super helpful and I’m really grateful. A large national chain with a personal touch here at Derby East. Thank you to Chloe and the rest of the team.
I believe they have closed there restaurant and moving onto a smaller restaurant as we were told the last time we went in. I will miss the service and food. The service was amazing I have never been in an restaurant where they had top notch service always 100% never failed on the service and the food was great, my husband eats gluten free and they always reassured it'll be cooked on a different wok or pan and never cooked with the same oil with gluten etc always catered for the needs. I will wait for them to reopen somewhere and start ordering there again. It's hard to find somewhere that does actually have Gluten free food that promises you it's Gluten free. This Chinese restaurant is the best. We dined in and takeaway, the food was always made fresh.
The best restaurant in derby. So great to have a restaurant with a wide variety of healthy delicious meals. There are so many vegan and gluten-free options. We love being able to choose the size of our bowl (which means the kids can have the right size for them) and then choose from proteins, hot options, sides and the massive salad bar. We highly recommend their falafel, potato wedges and coleslaw. We will be going many more times! Service is quick and everyone’s really friendly.
