Newly diagnosed celiac here. Came for the "Real Cheeseburger" on a gluten free bun and it it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Will definitely return. The staff were knowledgeable and assured me my food would be celiac safe. When it arrived to the table, we were asked first where the gluten free burger went. The sodas were good and fries very delicious!
While staying at the Hyatt, I found this place online for a friend with gluten allergies. There were many doubts and some in our group wanted to turn back as we walked there. Man were we happy we didn't listen to the naysayers!
This place was awesome! The outside doesn't look great but the inside is very quaint. The staff were very nice and the food was simply amazing. Most of the group went back the following day.
This was my first time visiting the restaurant. I was in town for a wedding and googled. Having celiac and egg allergy it not always easy to find a good place with good options, but I was amazed by the food here. I went back a couple time's before leaving. This is going to be my to go spot always when in SA. Staff were great, atmosphere is very cute and friendly and did I mention the food ....it was AMAZING, so delicious, great variety , it made me like a normal person enjoying food actual regular food and not having to worry about getting sick!!! A definite win!!!
What a treat to have vegetarian and gluten free! The food was delicious! And the agua fresca was sweet and refreshing. There were so many yummy sounding choices it was hard to pick, I’ll have to come back.
We came here to celebrate our son's 23rd birthday as well as his upcoming graduation from The Culinary Institute of America, and it was well worth every cent!
We did the tasting menu and shared everything family style. The food is dairy and gluten free as well as plant-forward. That said, the braised shirt ribs did not disappoint. We left full and happy.
If you're dining with someone who doesn't like vegetables, bring them here to change their mind.
We absolutely love this restaurant and eat there at least once a month.
One of the big draws from me ore. Originally, choosing this restaurant was the delicious gluten-free menu. Any authentic food.
Hadn't been here in years but it was just as delicious as ever! Brought my 17yo son for the first time but it won't be his last I'm sure. He loved it! Also great gluten-free pizza and wings! I have a gluten intolerance and I had no issues here. I definitely recommend 👌
So there I was, minding my own business, headed toward a totally different restaurant when—bam!—Miss Chickpeas Cafetel on Callaghan Road in San Antonio popped up like a delightful little plot twist in my lunch plans. The name alone caught my eye, and I figured, hey, why not shake things up?
The moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, which already made this detour feel like a good decision. The vibe? Super cute, cozy, and definitely a place with regulars (always a good sign). And while I’ll be honest—I was a little skeptical about vegan food (I mean, can it really compete with the meaty classics?)—that hesitation melted the second I laid eyes on their baked goods case. Vegan and gluten-friendly treats that looked like they just stepped off a dessert runway? Yes, please.
Before I even touched a menu, I was already halfway sold. I chatted with the friendly staff, and one of them enthusiastically recommended the Breakfast Sammy. Throwing caution—and my meat-loving instincts—to the wind, I ordered it along with a German chocolate cupcake that was practically whispering sweet nothings from the dessert case.
When the food came out, it looked great. The vegan bacon threw me for a second—it definitely looked different—but once I took a bite, I was pleasantly surprised. Not your traditional bacon texture, but flavorful and satisfying in its own right. The ciabatta roll was soft with just the right amount of chew, and the whole sandwich worked really well together.
What made the experience even better? The staff came to check on me, genuinely interested in how I was enjoying my first dive into their menu. We chatted a bit, and they let me know their baked goods come from their local bakery right here in San Antonio. Major bonus points for supporting local.
All in all, Miss Chickpeas Cafetel was a refreshing, feel-good surprise. It’s a great lighter option when you want something satisfying but not heavy. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their breakfast offerings—and probably sneak in another cupcake (or two).
If you’ve ever been curious about vegan food but hesitant to try, let Miss Chickpeas be your gateway. It was mine—and I'm glad I took the chance.
Yummy Gluten Free cake ordered for My mom's birthday. It was rich and delicious. Great ordering experience and service. Very friendly and convenient. My mom now wants to use Akki's for her own orders!
I was very impressed by this pizza spot. Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. Had the loaded queso dip, taco nirvana chicken pizza, and the mighty meaty pizza. All had fantastic taste. They even had delicious gluten-free options available for one of my neices. 😋 Can't wait to visit again.
Very pleasant experience. The waitress told me “we take allergies very seriously here. We don’t have a seperate GF menu because the majority can be made GF”.
Gluten-free options! The one with yogurt for me was delicious (not too sweet). The mimosa was a little strong in order to feel the lavender flavor, but it was still good. The place is so beautiful and they have a very friendly staff.
Jonathan was amazing, so hospitable and knowledgeable! Gluten free options and omg was it amazing. To get a Primavera, grilled chicken, GF and to be so flavorful! The entire experience was 5 stars!
The food was amazing!! We got the chicken and waffles, the Crunchwrap, and the Ghost Love combo. Y’all, we were crying it’s that good (if you’re gluten free/vegan). My partner is newly gluten free and normally eats meat and said the chicken and waffles tasted like the real thing! Shout out to Michael who chatted with us and helped with recommendations. If we lived closer, we’d be back often!!
I’m from Houston, where there are restaurants with vegan options or gluten free options, but rarely is there a time when I can find someplace that accommodates all of my dietary restrictions. Until I took a trip to San Antonio! I was overjoyed to find a fast food vegan restaurant that also has gluten free, flavorful buns. I got a classic burger combo, which did not disappoint! My husband (who isn’t vegan/no dietary restrictions) got the earth crunch wrap and the classic jr. Let me tell you, he did not miss the meat AT ALL. We were in San Antonio for 3 days, and I ate here 2 out of 3 of them. Can’t wait to return again soon!
Wait staff ignorant about food allergies and what's on their menu--led to illness. Despite my asking specifically for a gf menu (which they don't have one for their Sunday's menu) I made sure waitress knew I was allergic to gluten and dairy. She didn't know at all what on the Sunday menu could be made gf, which surprised me, so manager had to come over to let me know. I then ordered from waitress based on manager's info and specified vegan cheese on my migas and lots of extra vegan cheese. Asked the corn tortillas be extra crispy, too. Very specific. Instead got lots of real cheese and didn't realize it til half way done eating it and after asking the manager if it was real cheese which she confirmed it was. I rarely have real cheese so I'm not used to the taste and had to make sure and ask. Also, apparently when you order crispy migas without the vegetables...they give you plain corn tortillas rolled up in aluminum foil on the side instead of cutting them up and cooking them with the eggs. I mean, seriously???? I basically had scrambled eggs w cheese and paid for cold corn tortillas on the side. Had to take benadryl, lactose pills and IB right then and now an hour later my head predictably aches and my face is still hot. Hoping I don't get the usual migraine from dairy. Great way to start a Sunday. Oh, and waitress ignored us completely from then on: no apology, no trying to make it right, no clearing table, no refilling waters-- she just waited on tables all around and ignored us entirely. We had to get up to ask for all above and even to ask for the check from manager. Before leaving I told manager she's the worst waitress I've ever had (shes got dark brown hair with purple colored ends), is dangerous to customers, and since I used to wait tables in college I know what it takes. The manager apologized and tried to make it right by removing my meal from the order and offering a gf cupcake to go (which is only reason for the high 2 stars rating), but she confirmed the waitress is NOT new. In summary, Sunday menu needs to be updated with gf info and staff needs some serious retraining on what their menu is made up of, what good customer service looks like, and the seriousness of food allergies and sensitivities. Place is dangerous until they do.

I used to live in this area a year and a half ago. This place was the BEST. I just moved back and was super excited to finally get Barbaros, we ordered two takeaways, and I don't know if there is someone new or new owners or what, but the service was terrible they were rude for the first time ever and on top of that this was the most DISGUSTING pizza I have ever had and that includes frozen Walmart pizzas. It was extremely burnt and looked like they bought days old cibbata bread or something and tried to cook cheese and pepperoni on top, and the gluten-free was the exact same thing. I'm extremely disappointed and sad because this used to be my spot.

Popular menu items include the Cedar Plank-Roasted Salmon, Caramelized Sea Scallops, and Wood-Grilled Filet Mignon. Their signature flatbreads and “Mini Indulgence” desserts offer lighter, satisfying options. The seasonal wine flights and cocktails—like the Hawaiian Pineapple Cosmopolitan—are worth exploring.

The ambiance is warm and elegant, perfect for date nights, celebrations, or business dinners. Service is generally attentive and knowledgeable, though a few diners have noted occasional slow service during busy hours.
Dietary-Friendly Options:
A separate gluten-free menu is available, and staff are typically accommodating of allergies. However, the kitchen isn’t fully gluten-free, so those with severe sensitivities should be cautious.
Overall:
Seasons 52 blends quality, flavor, and wellness in a beautiful setting. It’s a solid pick for those looking for a fresh, lighter alternative to traditional upscale dining. Reservations recommended for peak hours.
Love that they have food allergens listed on each flavor, eliminates a lot of stress, annoying questions and makes ordering (gluten free) a breeze! So far the Goat Cheese & the Roasted Beet flavors are my go to! Although VERY sweet😳 the flavor is rich and unique!
First time customer and was super impressed!! The food was absolutely delicious! Such a treat for people who are vegan and gluten free, I'm sure non vegans would love it too. Service was great as well. Can't wait to return soon.
Sooo delicious!! Our group came here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch after a rough morning. Mare e Monte did not disappoint! I had no expectation for gluten free options but yes there are some options. The service was excellent and the staff very accommodating. Everyone really enjoyed their food. All our dishes were savory yet fresh and bright. A very lovely dining experience that made our day.

Not pictured were the amazing salads we had, ate them too fast!
Absolutely incredible food that is impossible to tell it's vegan. Flavor, variety, and no animal products! Lots of gluten free options too. Owner is a cool ass dude who has great stories and wisdom. Can't wait to go back!
The smoothies are very delicious and you can taste the healthiness in a good way and the ice cream is just splendid.
They have vegan and lactose-free options and have many flavors. 10/10!
The flavors are out of this world and better than any other ice cream I've tried! They also have many toppings. If you are vegan, gluten-free, or lactose-intolerant, or just an ice cream fan, you must try this place.
I trust the Hopdoddy meat choices (grassfed beef) and love their bowls! This is one of the very few places I will eat out at. They have soy free and gluten-free options and don't use seed oils! Good vibes and fun atmosphere.
The food was okay and I am super grateful for vegan and gluten free places because I can’t eat out without them. I however think they charged way too much for what we got and it should have had more veggies on the tacos at least cilantro tomato spinach. There was none on mine. I was not highly impressed especially for what I paid for 2 people spent $80 with tip! I didn’t take pictures but I should have
My family and I went to Rooted for their grand opening yesterday and the food was amazing!! I tried the stuffed portabella for the first time and I can’t stop thinking about it. It was 🔥. We also had their legendary lasagna, which has always been a family favorite and I’m so happy my favorite soup (the Zuppa Toscana) is back on the menu!! The ginger ale and lemonade were both fresh and delicious. We finished out our meal with the ricciarelli cookies. These cookies are vegan and gluten free and are some of the best cookies I’ve ever had.
Customer service is also always top notch and the owners are the best. Rooted continues to raise the bar for vegan options and remains my favorite establishment, hands down.

Amazing flavors and amazing prices and most of all, dairy and gluten free! Our son has a dairy allergy so we got him the original and he inhaled it! I got the apple pie and my wife got the blueberry pie cinnamon roll. So many flavors to choose from and sadly only one stomach! You have to check this place out if you are hankering for a cinnamon roll that won’t hurt your stomach or your wallet!
This is hands down my favorite Indian food restaurant in San Antonio. Their chicken curry is amazing and a good gluten-free option for my gluten-free fam. Good customer service too!
Driving north on 281 I was starving and came upon Freshii. I loved the fresh clean look and it was obviously new. The staff was very helpful regarding my dietary restrictions (gluten). The food is fresh and everything looks healthy and prepared the way I love to eat.
Today i ate the superfood soup with a variety of vegetables and I added chicken. I already know my next meal will be the Mediterranean bowl!
The staff was friendly and informative and it was fast. I know San Antonio will embrace this yummy new restaurant. It's a great addition to a growing 281 North area. Too many junk food options and zero GOOD food options.
Until now!!
We went to BellaGreen today for my birthday and really enjoyed everything. Don’t let the buildings facelift deter you, parking in the garage is validated as well. They also cater, including gluten free options.
We had: the OG pizza, a huge salad honey fried goat cheese and arugula, honey garlic cauliflower wings Gluten free, and kids pasta with Alfredo. For dessert the gluten free carrot cake and the apple crumble. Impressed with the gluten free options, overall restaurant cleanliness and great service. we will definitely be back.
