Phenomenal food and service, can’t say enough nice things about this place! Loved that the chicken pizza had a smoked option!
My dad had a gluten free sub with fries that he said was delicious, we will be back for sure!
I’ve been ordering from Mandy’s for 7.5 years, since being diagnosed with celiac. Things have been wonky since ownership changed, but on 12/28/24 I called at 5:15pm and was told they were out of gluten free pizza shells for the evening. Sold out at 5pm on a Saturday? So I ordered a gf turkey hoagie, to which I was told that the owner had taken this item off the menu! What?? I was flabbergasted! This is not an unconventional item, it’s a turkey hoagie!
I continued my order of traditional food for the rest of my family, a pizza and two hoagies, and waited 55 minutes for them, even when the the girl answering phones was telling people 35 minutes(I know this because I stood in the restaurant for 20 mins waiting for my 3 items, since I arrived at the 35 minute mark.)
It was very disappointing, and I hope that the restaurant can stay true to the original owners dream of food for those of us will allergies and restrictions.
The food and whole experience was like a spiritual experience!!
As a person with celiac disease I have one had fried chicken once and it was not anywhere close to being as delicious as the fried chicken sandwich I got here! I also got the fried provolone cheese wheel. YALL!!! 10/10. My gluten eating best friend was as blown away as I was! She said it was the best food PERIOD that she's had in a long time! Would recommend!!
I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone with allergies. My best friend has severe gluten and mushroom allergies, so we were excited to try this fully gluten-free spot. We informed the waitress about her allergies, but it became clear they were not taken seriously. After eating tortilla chips, we were later told the fryer was used for mushrooms—a major cross-contamination issue.
The situation escalated as we anxiously waited to see if an epi-pen or ambulance was necessary. The waitress apologized, but the manager hovered awkwardly, making excuses instead of giving us space to handle the situation. Their poor handling of a life-threatening allergy made an already frightening experience worse. If you have food allergies, avoid this place.
Great spot to get Neapolitan style pizza. They have the best gluten free pizza in Pittsburgh. Wife is Gf and she’s craves it. Honestly can’t tell much of a difference. Gelato is tasty and great selection of wine by glass, half and bottle.
We visited Pittsburgh for a day and found this restaurant on find me gluten free. Everything on the menu is Gf except two things. Our waitress Ana was awesome! The food was incredible. The empanadas are to die for!!!!
Not celiac friendly. They have carelessly glutened us after specifically calling in about me and my child having celiac. They offered a gift card in the mail as an apology but I never received one. Stay away from Burgatory.
Fantastic little place. The majority of the menu is gluten free and everything is very clearly labelled. We got the yuca fries which were delicious. We also got cheese empanada and black bean empanada and both were very good. My daughter generally will not eat “different” foods and neither of us are fans of spices, but everything was perfect.
This review is about the location in Southside.
There's a tl;dr at the end.
I did take-away so it was a limited atmosphere experience. Seemed like a normal kind of diner, just more brown and wooden?
I was VERY excited when I learned they make gluten free waffles (I have Celiac disease). It's only for the "design your own" section, at least when ordering online. Not for the specials. You also can't specify decaf for any of the coffee drinks (I ordered the signature drink that was supposed to have hazelnut, vanilla, and maple flavor with foam on top). But I figured I could deal with full caf for a day, and if I happened to get there before they made it, I could always ask them to do decaf instead.
The order was supposed to be ready to be picked up at 16 past the hour. I got there shortly after that and it wasn't ready. The place was basically empty. As far as I could hear and see there were two tables there, two servers, and two kitchen staff. They were all sort of meandering around slowly, and when one server finally came to greet me, they weren't pleasant at all. I've been a server multiple times in different places, so I know how hard it can be and always try to give the benefit of the doubt, so I was friendly to them and told them my name and what I was there for. They had me sign a receipt (we'd already tipped 15-20% online, our usual for take-away), then set it down and just walked away.
Another server came out and started prepping a to-go hot drink and I asked if that was mine and if so, could they make it decaf please, since there wasn't a way to request that online? The server just said "it's not yours," and finished what they were doing. Apparently didn't tell the other server. I waited another 10 minutes before the other server brought out the bag and said "here you go!" (the friendliest anybody had been). I said I still had a drink. The signature. Then I remembered we'd ordered it separately, trying to do it decaf, so I apologized and explained it was a separate check. They sighed and started prepping it and I quickly asked about the decaf, explaining the order issue. They didn't respond, but I could tell they were unhappy about it. I felt badly, but I had been very friendly, and when I was a server I was happy just to have someone be friendly and kind to me. Nobody ever tipped me on take-away orders. I only had 45min to have lunch with my spouse IF the food had been ready on time, which it wasn't, and now because of the very long wait I was going to have about 10min with him. I just wanted to get out of there, so I wasn't paying much attention while the server made my drink. I thanked her when I got it, and rushed out.
It wasn't until I tasted it a few minutes later when I was at my spouse's office that I realized it was plain coffee/espresso. I don't even know if it was decaf. But it tasted terrible and had none of the things from the signature drink in it I'd paid for. I wasn't going to go back, obviously, because we had no time at that point, and it looked like it was just those employees on the floor. So my spouse drank it instead because he can drink motor oil if it smells like coffee.
Tl;Dr It was super depressing atmosphere inside, servers were rude, food wasn't ready in time, so it ruined rare lunch date with spouse, and I was given plain coffee instead of signature drink I paid for. Lame. 2/5 stars. Only gets even the 2 stars because of the gf waffles, which I haven't been able to have since developing Celiac disease after a major surgery. Those were tasty.
Great place for celiacs! Almost everything on the menu was gluten free, and they told me they do have 2 friers to keep the items GF. Delicious food too!

As a Celiac there's few places I feel this safe eating at. Gluten-free items are clearly marked on the menu and employees will immediately take note if you state you have an allergy. The chips are in their own fryer, which is wonderful given that many Mexican restaurants have shared fryers that aren't Celiac/ gluten allergy-friendly.
I also love the atmosphere (fun, vibrant art and very friendly waitstaff) and the food is DELICIOUS! Prices are very fair for portion size, especially for nachos and bowls. 10/10 recommend!
Really loved this place!
The staff is very kind, the food is delicious and has great portions.
I'm gluten free and they had a dedicated gluten free menu!
I highly recommend the bean dip and the half jerk chicken!
Highly recommend the Sacre Bleu-berry French toast! Had a delicious house made peach cream cheese which was unique.
There are a lot of options whether you're vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. The inside was a little dated, but nothing to be turned away from.
Service was warm, friendly, and attentive. Overall a solid spot for breakfast, can't see going wrong with anything on the menu here.

We had a fabulous night just before the Pittsburgh Marathon. The food was fabulous and the prices were reasonable and the gluten free options were delicious.
We just celebrated my sisters birthday and Jamie, our server, managed our large table with efficiency and top notch service. I have a gluten intolerance and everyone was so conscientious that I felt totally comfortable. I had the Mediterranean chicken with the accompanying GF cookie and ice cream and it was delicious. Thanks, BJ's!
I have celiac and the worker was so accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful even on a night as busy as the super bowl!
They had probably one of the best GF crusts i’ve had in Pittsburgh and it was perfectly crunchy.
The sweet hostess on the phone was wonderful as well! Great experience overall and a great price for GF food.
Really authentic Polish food! They have a huge selection of pierogi as well as other traditional food like stuffed cabbage. They also have a few gluten-free pierogi options which is hard to find. Owners are really friendly and welcoming. A new favorite!
I love Aladdin’s. They have so many gluten free, vegetarian, and vegetarian options. The waitress was very accommodating to my gluten allergy and the baba ganoush was so good. The feel is family owned and local!
If you are looking for a good Middle Eastern food Aladdin's Eatery at Mt. Lebanon is best place to get it. They not only simplify menu by labels such V-for vegetarian VG-vegan GF-gluten free N-contains nuts, but you also get a great choice of smoothies and delicious shareable (cakes are that big) desserts. Depending on a time of the day place can be packed because it’s not that big so you might consider take out. Otherwise atmosphere is so nice that it makes the place be a great place for the dates. I only give it 4 stars because I think they need to offer better tea and coffee-something more than just regular ones.
I adore this place. Fire side tables, easy eats thst please a crowd and picky eaters. Fun staff who are friendly and vegan/gluten free options too.
Def try the potato taco.
Only thing I'd like to see them do is start serving horchata and Agua frescas!
Very nice, clean space. Indoor/outdoor. Friendly staff, great food, wide selection of gluten free items clearly marked on the menu. Best thai restaurant I’ve been to in the burgh.
Their food was awesome! The hostess was awesome! Lighting and ambiance is awesome too! It was packed in there on a Thursday evening, but the wait wasn't too long. If you have food allergies, they are very accommodating! Rice noodles if you're avoiding gluten, soy free options if you ask.
The Federal Galley is a neat spot to grab a bite and try some beers/cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxed. We went before a concert at the stadium, it wasn't too crowded and was within walking distance from our hotel and to the stadium.
The 4 different kitchen gives you a great variety of options. There were vegetarian options as well as Gluten free buns available.
The beer selection was pretty good (you can see it on untapped) and they had a nice selection of cocktails as well as a full bar.
We happened to be there at happy hour and our 4 beers ended up costing us about 18$
The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star instead of 5 is the table was dirty, we had to find napkins and clean it off. It is more like a food court, as you grab your water/ glasses and cutlery yourself.
The food was delicious and we will probably go back if we find ourselves in town for a show.
Dined here for the gluten free options. The wait staff shared what was gluten free and I believe it was gluten free. We still got sick from cross contamination. It's too bad really as the food was delicious.
As a recently diagnosed celiac avoiding dairy, I love stopping at Condado any time I’m in town visiting family. Their menu marks very clearly which items contain gluten & dairy, and the staff is very knowledgeable about food allergies (plus they’re always so friendly!!). I’ve eaten here a few times and never gotten sick. Their delicious gluten free margs, chips, and tacos gives me a sense of normalcy & it’s all so good!
We had a fantastic meal at EYV, it's a fantastic addition to a neighborhood on the way up. Of course, everything on the menu was gluten free and my wife had many vegan options to choose from. The hummus fritters and the peroigis were our favorites, but everything we ordered was fantastic. Unpretentious. They serve Saratoga sparkling water.
Tons of gluten free options (including the best gf bread in Pittsburgh), really tasty food, and the staff leaves me the cutest drawings on my orders. It's pricey but sometimes i need a treat haha.
I have loved this spot for years. They always have a vegan and gluten free option which I appreciate. The decor is funky- modern Victorian. And I LOVE that they are open late. I’ve popped in here many nights in between night class and overnight work shifts to enjoy a drink and just relax.
I recently had a severe diet change- no eggs, dairy and gluten. It is hard to go out to eat and I really miss the social interactions that happen around a dining table. My boyfriend and I were coming to Pittsburgh for the Steelers game and I found this little gem. The GF/V donut was to die for- so delicious. I didn't know what to expect with a vegan egg sandwich, since I do eat meat- but WOW. The tofu scramble was so delicious and well seasoned. The GF bread was hearty and delicious. My boyfriend had a regular egg, cheese and bacon sandwich on ciabatta and said it was phenomenal. I am so grateful to establishments like this that have allergy friendly food- it makes dining out fun again and breakfasts have always been my favorite meal. Thank you, we will be back!
Great little vegan place! Great prices, great selection of food. There weren’t many gluten free options which was a little bit of a bummer but I still was able to eat quite a lot from the Sunday brunch buffet. It’s cash only so make sure you remember cash! Definitely recommend.
One of the best restaurants you’ll find, and it just happens to be vegan and mostly gluten free. The service is friendly and attentive. The menu is fun and unique and everything we tried was excellent (ordered seconds of the dumplings!). Plates are sharable so you can try a little of a lot of different things. The drink menu is limited but well curated. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming. Bonus, the bathrooms are stylish! I would visit Pittsburgh again just to eat here.
Solid choice for tea lovers.
Dobra Tea offers a wide variety of teas, including a small number of desserts to pair. They also have a couple of gluten free options. The atmosphere leans quiet and relaxing, though it can get busy at times. It's a good option for tea enthusiasts looking for a unique selection of teas in a chill setting. You can also buy your favorite fresh tea to take home.
Cute little place for a quick bite with vegan and gluten sensitive options. A little overpriced for what you get. Napkins only available upon asking is a bit of inconvenience.

The food was amazing. The location felt a little “exotic” (in a good way) on the third floor of a Lawrenceville block. Our server was absolutely incredible, running through gluten free or gluten risky options and just seemed happy to be serving us. We will 100% go back. The only downside of our experience was the heat. It was a hot summer day and I think the AC was trying to keep up as best it could on a third floor that had a kitchen in it, but we we’re definitely hot! Even so, I still easily give this place 5 stars.
You can't go wrong with any of their selections when it comes to wholesome healthy products. Everything is vegan and gluten free. You are welcome to sample the different flavors.
My personal favorite is "don't stop the beet" which is a refreshing juice. They also offer smoothies, acai bowls, as well as snacks and even sea moss! This is one of several locations throughout the city.
They have a rewards program. Be sure to sign up for it. Expiration dates are listed on the top of each bottle.
For a different experience try one of their mylks which is made from almond milk. Friendly and knowledgable staff.
